    Long-distance move from New York
Do not use -- Lost precious items

Liberty Transportation/United Van Lines has dropped two boxes which were most precious to me throughout my transfer out of NYC to France. They comprised notes that my dad wrote at the hospital prior to passing off, and exceptional family photos, documents and letters of that we haven’t any copies. Losing those boxes intended losing our dad’s only memories also has caused deep distress for my own wife and myself. In addition, it usually means that my kids and infant niece won’t have any hint of that their mother was.

The reduction of those boxes is the result of a series of errors on Liberty Transportation’s role, such as these ones:

    (1) The container together with my possessions was un-sealed and unloaded without permission prior to reaching my home and its material moved to 2 vans, because of an event with the motorist.

    (2) The movers didn’t have an inventory record for me to test off upon delivery and have been very far in a rush to depart, without the opportunity to experience everything with me. They didn’t understand how many things they’d delivered and had clearly never counted them.

    (3) Some stock numbers didn’t correspond with the content of these boxes, which appears to signify that the stock wasn’t correctly completed in NYC. Boxes from prior moves weren’t re-packed from Liberty boxes, since they ought to have been according to regulations in such a issue. Some products were broken and bits left behind in the flat.

Liberty Transportation along with their franchisees in France have both admitted in writing to the details as recorded above. Here’s a quotation out of Liberty Transportation’s President:”It’s evident that there has been a breakdown of those procedures which record the chain of custody along with your dispatch – both here in the united states and also in France”. An extremely worrying invoice for clients, of course.

Besides such errors, Liberty Transportation managed the followup of this situation at many disgusting mode: not responding to emails, not replying to telephone calls, and maybe not sending the requested data, reporting quite badly on actions taken to find the boxes, etc..

This is my 5th overseas movement and that I never came across this kind of ominous handling. Keep away.

    Terrible Attitude

If it’s possible to refrain from dealing with these individuals, attempt to do this as far as you can.  Here is the experience I’d had.  While waiting in my car in the Caribbean property that I handle, a massive truck is pulling up so tightly together with me to the point where they cut the front end of my car.  I’m clearly off to the side, away from anybody so I am wondering why somebody would become so close. Knowing that a large part of the delivery folks are on site to function among my residents (moves, furniture shipping, etc.), I get from my car whenever they get from theirs & inquire what I could assist them with.  After affirming who they’re here for, I reference to the passenger that they came awfully near my automobile & the guy said”it is all great, she is a fantastic driver.”  I didn’t think far more of it, and if my assistant manager awakened, I had him get the cargo elevator keys and since they’re walking off & I am getting back into my car, the passenger plumber informs the female motorist at a means of instigation what I stated a bit before and she looked at me and said in a voice filled with hate”Can I hit it?!?!  Well then…!” Moving her head side to side in a really uncaring, rude way.  I told her that I did not have to be talked to in that way and asked if I could get her boss’s contact info where you answered in precisely the exact same manner she did sooner”I AM the boss!” And walked off.  I said she’d hear about this again as I intend to inform the Better Business Bureau.  Another man threw up his hands in the mix also, so it is clear that they work as a group battling clients, prospective clients and construction management. If these people today behave like this, how do you believe they’re behaving when they’re in your house?  Whenever you aren’t home, would you believe that they are honest men and women?  Consider it.

    Golden Eagle Moving Services

I can’t say enough about how amazing the California branch of the business conducts business. Golden Eagle Moving Services from Upland CA are just the BEST! The driver we’d, Victor Munoz, was simply wonderful. Professional, courteous, prompt, efficient and caring. The load came as promised, in the time promised and was unloaded here in Philadelphia without any harm. The team in Glendora was wonderful, I’m a glass artist and’d 18,000 pounds. Of glass and equipment to maneuver. They worked incredibly difficult. They were cautious and respectful of all those things. On the Philadelphia side, the team wasn’t quite as great. They had just one surly, lazy kid however, another two were simply wonderful. I will certainly use Allied again since we’ll be moving over 6 weeks. (I’ll only make sure you inform them to not ship Mr. Bad Attitude!)

    Small move but lots broken

While this is a rather small movement, a great deal of things came broken or smashed. Our dining room table came with a broken leg, a seat had a broken arm and leg, a lamp was broken, and all of the boxes were smashed. The vault was quite badly packaged. The movers place heavy boxes in addition to the seat. We’d arranged a special box to get a tall delicate lamp that they forgot to attract. They wrapped it in blankets and guaranteed to set it into a box in the warehouse. It came still only from the blanket and has been broken. The Florida firm, McCollister’s Transportation Group of Sunrise, FL supplied quite incompetent folks to pack the vehicle. As this is a United Van Lines Co. they managed the repairs and didn’t mend most everything, but the repairs were fair. Following the shock of just how much broke, the present rub is that they are refusing to fix the arm of a seat that also had a broken leg. They’re saying that because it’s an old seat, even though the leg has been broken (they mended that), the dislodged arm was not due to mishandling, but era and will not cover that portion of their claim. The arm has been fine prior to the move. Certainly the movers had been incompetent and yet they keep denying the arm of the seat broke because it’s old. The assert division is under the bigger corporation UniGroup that is United Van Lines and Mayflower. They’re the individuals that are denying the claim. I am continuing to tackle this up the chain of control. What a waste of the period after paying so much money. Very annoying and annoying. I wouldn’t suggest any of the businesses discussed in this review.

    United Van Lines/Sullivan moving review

My expertise with United Van Lines/Sullivan moving firm had been BY FAR the WORST experience I’ve ever encountered using a service supplier in my whole life!!!!! The most worst, and in the event that you prefer not suffer the head-ache of the solutions yourself, I’d recommend you take heed to my critique. First off, in beginning of business trade, they appear to be very service oriented and adapting that’s until they receive your small business and the contractual arrangement between you and the firm was signed. I was originally advised that there was a time period I would receive my things caused by a transfer from CA to VA.. The estimators came into my location at CA, researched the things to have been sent, gave me a quote, and explained that because the entire quantity of my things weighed under the necessary minimum, that I would be billed just the conventional weight. Cool. Then they proceeded to inform me that it would take between 5-15 times to get my cargo from CA to VA (since I came to VA prior to the movers failed.) . Through the procedure and following my card was charged the service charge, I never formerly discovered from United Van Lines/Sullivan moving, forcing me to have to check in together intermittently just to just assess the condition of the transfer. Further, once I left messages for my own moving planner, I never obtained returned telephone calls, forcing me to call, hold, and wait for her to take my calls.  After approximately a week and a half after being advised the duration of time that it would have to transfer my things, by the moving planner, I was subsequently told (again per week and a half afterwards ) that the motorist was still in AZ, also making his way into the East Coast? . We’re currently daily 10 of this procedure and that I was subsequently advised that the driver may not arrive at VA before the genuine 15th day (as guaranteed by contract) since the truck drivers could only drive a lot of hours in a day. Fine. We reach the 15th day and I am then told (by the way, from the driver, whom I’d spoken to for the VERY FIRST time that the afternoon my shipment was supposed to arrive, rather than before, although the motorist advised the United Van Line company that he called me on many occasions [not correct!]) He would be unable to make it from the end of business on the 15th day since when he did the delivery prior to mine, he did not have help unloading the truck and that it took him more than he believed. This isn’t my fault, and that I shouldn’t have needed to endure the effects of a delay in the shipping of my things because United Van Lines/Sullivan did not plan appropriately. But once the driver finally arrived to my speech every day LATE, he informs me that he could’t unload my things until the following day because he was tired of having to 1.) Unload the previous delivery by himself two.) For needing to wait to get the truck repaired due to a minor upkeep mishaps (involving the sail from his final delivery to mine, and 3.) Since he wanted more aid unloading my items and would not have the ability to have the aid until the following day, Again, is not this something United Van Lines/Sullivan moving needs to have put up ahead of the driver got to my speech? So ultimately coming a day LATE following my contractual time period which was compensated for, the mover(s) finally unloaded my things, arrived in my house, scratched my walls, then abandoned SEVERAL broken items in my boxes, then set up a few things and abandoned. I needed to make a complaint for my moving planner following this enormous inconvenience, since after all, I needed to take off time from work, and forfeit not needing my things when assured to me and having to wait to receive them, all to be berated by United Van Lines/Sullivan Moving firm and advised that there was nothing they could do about this as my burden was less than 3,300pounds? They proceeded to inform me that the only way I could file a claim from this issue was when I had a delivery which was the maximum burden amount differently, if I wished to find a lawyer I could do this. Really?! No apology, no partial refund for your tardiness and broken things, nothing. Only impolite staff that could care less that their support was less than sufficient. Anyhow, my moving planner was Dawn Lewis, my estimator was Troy Becker, my driver was David Rivera, also that I was berated by a man in the workplace I believe by the title of Sebastian Brooks. I’ll NEVER EVER USE THIS MOVING COMPANY EVER AGAIN, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AGAINST THEM!

    Not worth the stress

Lots of broken items and asserts department a entire nightmare to take care of. They certainly invest more energy on battling insured claims than simply taking good care of these things during the transfer and storage. Claims department initially stated 4-6 months to process all, but I’m now two weeks and still not near being solved.  Claims adjuster assigned to me is rude, clueless and cluttered.   It Doesn’t sit well together personally when someone questions my personal ethics.   I’ve got all documentation to support my claim and also my contact Won’t examine it.   After reading a few of the other posts, I’m wondering if she’s so over worked that she simply picks who she wishes to assist….or possibly she receives commission off exactly what she prevents the business from paying outside?

    Do not use this company

It has been the worst movement we’ve had and we’re professionals who Must relocate every five Decades.   Broken, missing things and square boxes are now round.   The storage facility that they use is essentially an unorganized mess even according to their own promises individual.   We compensated 2k more to utilize who we believed was a respectable business only to have approximately 5700 in damage and lost things. Customer support does not care and you need to make calling them your whole time occupation. I really don’t expect anything from them anyhow studying a valuable lesson about in the event that you’d like your household goods in form and all there – do it all yourself. United Van Lines is Only a rip off and dreadful Business.   They contracted nice loaders and unloaders however following your items leave your existence, they use an extremely lousy storage firm and I feel all our items were riffled through and then tossed into a corner according to look of these boxes. They’re thieves at the Oakland, Ca storage device and I figure I’ll look on Ebay for the dining table, kitchen help, pricey cookbooks, cracked TV along with other things they stole. United doesn’t care 1 bit about your merchandise or service. They’re just there to take your own cash and that’s it. Cross your fingers and expect your material arrives and isn’t trashed.

    Horrible Moving Company!

This business cares nothing about customer service! All of the nightmares of proceeding are personified in this provider! This business was chosen by my company, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (probably due to a corporate reduction ). Thus, if I had had some previous knowledge or say-so within their choice, they wouldn’t be my pick (and won’t ever be so in the future). When I was putting up my transfer dates using their agent, they didn’t provide me an alternative for delivery interval, and only faked it to me. When I complained about that, they reacted by saying they’re not”needed” to negotiate that with me. When I whined farther, they eventually coordinated a fair shipping date. However, that is when the nightmare only started. Though they have been paid for”unpacking”, that unpacking is only DUMPING all substances from boxes to the middle of this space, in large heaps of messes. My wife was busy attempting to restrain our two year old twins, and they chose to ditch dangerous objects (knives, tools etc) well in their reach. They totally ruined our hand-crafted oak dining place along with a top worth painting of mine (that I’d announced as a high value item). Now, they have spent the past 4 weeks providing us the run-around in compensating us to all these reductions. When you attempt to call their promises department, they supply you with a song & dance about how they’ve”a lot of promises” to take care of! I’ve filed complaints with Department of Transportation and the Better Business Bureaus. However, the only real way to create businesses like this shift will be that you the upcoming client, to remain away! That’s the sole solace my spouse and that I will shoot in this nightmare.

    Timely, helpful, as promised

What we enjoyed most is how this organization and its workers were useful, and did exactly what they said they’d do. Ways were indicated to spend less on the transfer, additional boxes were provided, and that which was completed in time. Fantastic follow-up and focus on detail. Would recommend very highly. Darlene Turner, andDick Abernathy along with the packaging crew were all very valuable. On the afternoon of the movement we had been contacted by the office to find out whether the all was going well, the packers appeared to be careful to insure items weren’t likely to get ruined, and also a fantastic review of any issues on any furniture had been mentioned and shown to me personally. Following the packaging of the truck that the team cleaned everything up and following the movement followup was created.

    Horrible

We needed to cover home in November 19th to December 2nd since it took quite a very long time because of our furniture to arrive. We have $100 for delay of transport. Originally the salesperson stated furniture could be delivered prior to Thanksgiving. Afterward, the motorist was ill and nobody needed to take the task. Afterward, the truck broke downagain. Eventually, I got my furniture with scratches on two tvs and lost things. I filed a claim however, the large 70″ television wasn’t covered because it didn’t have a scrape. It’s evident finger marks in the lower border and has been suspended professionally until the movers shot it all down. Incidentally, if you package your own dishes along with the box is crushed, they’re not responsible for broken dishes even though the box has been busted because you packaged it. Horrible.

Missing & Damaged Antique Furniture - Poor Help from Claims

We’ve moved several times over 30+ years. Many have caused harm and/or missing things. So on our final move we selected, in the recommendation of our transfer estimator, to buy Total Value Protection. We followed the principles given to get the driver note that the things of most worth on the stock sheet. All went well until the loading arrived at our destination but having just 1 person to help unload. Due to insufficient space for your moving van with this road my husband and boy unloaded the van and nobody has been available to indicate off stock amounts.

As we started to find problems such as damage and missing things we advised that the moving direction regarding claims. We suggested that we take some time to make convinced we had a comprehensive collection of issues before submitting the claim that we did and they advised us to begin finding images of missing things and hunt for corresponding values. A challenging job since a number of the products were quite rare but I managed to acquire auction deals and images as near as you can. Ultimately , they told us that a classic appraiser could see us to earn a report. Well, that never worked out thus that they ended up sending a furniture repair individual instead that wasn’t very qualified for the job he was awarded. He’d make a fix to quite a precious table which didn’t devalue the table but we felt as though we hadn’t any choice in the subject. The exact same guy with all our aid, as he actually did not know, made a record and required copies of our photographs. Not positive if he ever really submitted the accounts but a whole lot of time transpired – at least 2 weeks before we obtained a letter out of asserts. This letter said that we wouldn’t get anything because of our claim as 1. We’d thrown off a few of those damaged items (false we still have these things in a box) plus two. We didn’t check off stock when truck had been loaded. That was true but like I said we couldn’t do this.

I wrote a few emails to 3 individuals involved with our promise. They told us lots of unique stories at the start distinct from the last reasons I mentioned above. It did not make a whole lot of sense for me which they shipped a furniture out man and requested us to perform all of the research for worth when they might do anything regarding the claim.

I chose to compose them and in my final email I added all of the confusing responses I’d received from them since I’d retained their mails to me. They haven’t responded. A letter to girl who informed me to buy complete Value Replacement was not replied.

    United Van Lines - Horrible

Promised at 4-10 days. I’m sitting at my new home 16 days after. No furniture, and United cannot tell me as it may arrive, due to now, they have no one to push it here. I paid super large cost to United knowingly to seek the services of a premier moving business. It was immaterial that I advised my move 4 months ago.

As soon as I requested United Customer Service when I need to just employ another firm to find out the load, then the broker responded that it was a fantastic idea. She also said I must have expected delays due to the peak summer proceeding. With now passed L about Day, United still does not have any driver to attach into the load.

Their very last suggestion is they may have the ability to ship a partial load, and then the remainder by container. When I inquired why they do not just send all of it from container, TODAY, they stated they do not need to ship the entire load that manner since it isn’t the very best, safest, quickest, or most safe means to send a burden.

My exasperation and disappointment is through the roof.

Though I used my walker in my airplane flight here, United was unmoved after I explained that my wheelchair was about the truck. They offered to let me yet another one till they knew that it’s a customized seat,. .not easily substituted.

Cannot warn enough not to utilize UNITED.

Worst experience we have had in over a decade of moving!!!!

My loved ones and I’ve moved 5 times in the previous 11 decades. Every one of these instances we’ve utilized various moving companies. Our fist encounter 11 decades back has been with United Van Lines. It was exceptional and what just shy of being flawless. Ever since then we utilized many different businesses as a consequence of the concern for price. All of those encounters were adequate but pretty much fair.

This last move has been from West Palm Beach to San Antonio. We paid $10K from our own pocket to possess United to move us. They weren’t the least expensive but our very first encounter was such a positive one that we desired to have the exact same experience again.

The packaging experience was a JOKE! We had been shipped two packers to get a 5 bedroom house (3700+sq feet ) which has been short on the actual packaging supplies and needed to have among those packers leave early in the afternoon to secure more and they STILL worked out! After 8pm they just threw things in boxes with no kind of cushioning or wrap.

I am unable to even tell you the number of things were damaged in the transfer. As things came from the truck we found thing after item ruined. The last straw was when we discovered that my husband’s MV Agusta damaged. That is a showpiece bike that he had sent directly from Italy (it is just 1 of 57 from the total US).

We promptly called to tell them that we would need to be placing a claim in with this movement (that we’ve NEVER done in all of our years of proceeding ). We followed each and every detail we had been advised to perform to guarantee the claim was treated correctly. We had been advised it would take 3-4 months to get the claim resolved once it had been filed.

We filed everything on the ending June of 2018. Here it’s the week of Thanksgiving and we’re just getting it depended. That may sound great, but they haven’t only denied things (that we anticipated to a degree) but they’re only paying for 1 thing that has been damaged on the bike. I had been SPECIFICALLY advised to break down each of the things on the bike because this was such a distinctive and specialty thing and they’d manage it as a distinct claim even though it was all in the identical first claim.

NOW I’M BEING TOLD THAT IT WASN’T TO BE BROKEN DOWN AND WAS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE ITEM?!?!?! How is that my fault that I followed your requests???

If I need this resolved I might need to take it to mediation so as to find the further couple grand that they ruined from my bicycle and how ever many weeks this will all take to solve!!!

Trust me – this is not over! I am not only rolling over. Arbitration is absolutely well worth it for all of the hassle and headache they’ve placed me and my family through.

We were guaranteed for 80K nevertheless they can not fork over exactly what they screwed up? We’re the ones to suffer and we’re those which will finally have to think of the capital to fix THEIR errors and mishandling. And yes, we’ve got pics and documentations for all so that this is by no way manufactured.

We’ll NEVER use United again and I’d suggest that you do the exact same!!!

    Bait and switch

Under no circumstances should you utilize United Van lines. They purposely reduced balled my quote (directly talk cost assurance is really nothing of this sort ), then six months later demanded an extra $3,000.00 and then 6 weeks then required an extra $3,000.00! They kept coming up with various explanations and actually could care less about the consumer experience. I’ll also be submitting an official complaint with the FMCSA as regards for their own fraudulent business practices. The real movers themselves were quite professional, however, the bad taste left from the mafia-like collection tactics completely exceeds any goodwill they could have earned the provider.

Disastrous move done by an incompetent company

Moved from Massachusetts to Florida after retiring in May. This firm was supposed to take my furniture April 26th and anticipated delivery in late June. When it was sent, several things were lost. A number of different things were ruined. They”lost” a dining room seat together with a headboard for a few of those beds.

I informed them the seat was my top priority because it left a 5000 Thai Rosewood dining room table and seats useless. I’m now 73 and retired on a fixed income and do not have the money to purchase new furniture. A week after, they discovered that the dining room seat and headboard (approximately July 8th). Regardless of weekly forecasts, emails – pleading, cajoling, they kept telling me that my seat could be”coming next week” then moved me from individual to, clearly attempting to hand me off to other people.

Finally, in desperation, I consented to forgo the remainder of my down claim to $500 when they can only PLEASE get me the dining room seat. Eventually , they sent my seat for me UPS Freight, FIVE weeks as soon as they discovered it. They’d only thrown the seat in a flimsy card board box with no protection. For this reason, it had been destroyed in dispatch. The Agency’s adjuster come out to evaluate the damage and took images of their dining room seats.

He affirmed all of the harm and took images of the broken seat. Three months after they hadn’t responded to the promise. Finally, once I called threatening a lawyer and calling the better business bureau, they shipped me a”settlement letter” stating the seat was only worth $200 and contained a URL to a website to another seat. It turned out to be a different colour, cheaply made, and the only thing it had in common was that they were both seats. Concerning the remainder of the hurt, they said I could not prove it wasn’t damaged before following the move.

Low commitment to Quality and Safety

I recently hired United Van Lines to finish my transfer from PA to GA on May 22nd. United sub contracted out the move to Parks Moving Company from Pittsburgh. Total the movement went well nevertheless there were several damages to my house. I’ve moved several times so that I know that occurs but it’s how claims are managed that shows the caliber and standing of the business. In cases like this, downplayed the damages and contains suggested dangerous repairs that would create a security hazard for my loved ones. The person has indicated that load bearing things or delicate china ought to be glued together. The person said that two” broad shims may be inserted right into a 500# china cupboard so that it would lean backward (subsequently the damaged foundation would not be evident ). He said that the floor was not flat even though he’s photographs documenting how the china cupboard is the sole thing that’s leaning. The individual actually said that ruining a customized china set did not obligate the firm to it because cracked china could nevertheless be utilized. I identified all of my high value product which comprised the china, china cupboard, tables and piano. A number of the things had custom transport containers that were also ruined (The adjuster didn’t suggest a settlement to the dispatch containers despite getting numerous pictures of the harm.) I’ve got over $3000 in damages plus he’s suggested a settlement of $150.
