Regency Moving and Storage

To begin with, allow me to say that their 3-man team (Jesse, Percy & Darrell) would be the absolute best moving team we have ever had — really specialist, hard-working & eloquent using not one episode of harm. We’d give THEM 5 celebrities. The main reason behind the very low score we are giving Regency was that the quotation was grossly underestimated and as soon as the actual/final pounds came in, we were amazed at the difference in price. We had been quoted a cost of $3,190 to get an estimated 7,000 pounds. (everything matching at a 26′ truck). The genuine weight was 11,000 pounds. And the invoice introduced to us was for $5,129 – almost $2,000 MORE than we had been advised!!! In making our choice in the first position, we had gotten around 5 quotations and narrowed it down to two of those firms with whom we had been most impressed. Another (runner-up) firm’s quote did gauge the true weight right (11,000 pounds ) ) Using a quotation of $4,320. Therefore — if we had understood that Regency was likely to dismiss and charge a lot more for your own 11,000 pounds. Weight, we’d have contracted with another firm — that might have saved us around $800. Whenever the Regency estimator telephoned us together with the last charge sum, the evening before shipping, (so that we could find a cashier’s check at the amount the morning after, to provide the motorist before they drifted ) I was shocked. When I asked her why the burden was so grossly underestimated, her only answer was that we’d included a couple of things. It is accurate , we did include a few things we had initially thought wouldn’t move, but we had traded out them to different things that was previously contained when she left her quote. (The driver acknowledged that the two bits that we had added would not have made this much difference in the burden anyhow.) During our telephone conversation, she simply kept repeating”That is exactly what the true weight has been”. As soon as I told her how miserable people were about it and that the other inspector had anticipated the burden right — and inquired how she would have been so far away, she stated”Well, did not that gap increase a’red flag’ for you?” I was astonished at the and told me that WE were not the pros — and that the reason we had picked Regency was due to the expert impression they had given us when creating their quote. Obviously at that stage, there is not anything you can do in order to fight it if all of your possessions are in the vehicle and you’ve got to pay them until they float. Obviously we are horribly sad about this and might expect that this is not a frequent practice for this organization. You hear about this type of thing happening and I’d warn anybody obtaining quotes from any firm to be very careful and accept whatever defenses could possibly be available to avoid this from occurring.
