Worst communication and service I’ve ever managed. I hired them to maneuver my aging mum from MO into GA.. They offered me a firm quotation. On the afternoon of moving doubled the speed, and left that they made us pay them money (Paypal) until they’d begin moving. Two men met me at a vehicle in a WalMart parking lot. I had no option but to cover them. I inquired in which the truck had been, and they said we needed to go match it…

Then they drove 30 miles to Columbia to lease a vehicle from Budget and that I followed them. It had been 16 foot truck (800 cubic feet.) I cautioned them that the contents might not match.

After loading half of the truck that they consented the truck wasn’t large enough and removed (along with my belongings ) and have been gone for 4 hours.

Even though they were gone, I did the packaging from the assisted living center myself because it was becoming dark (we began at dusk ). I needed to leave my mom with dementia had been at a hotel room since we were draining out her location and it’d have been too cold and trying for her. If they did arrive that they did not have shifting blankets, bubble wrap, boxes, or tape. I needed to buy these myself out of Lowe’s.

They did not appear on Saturday or Sunday, and I got no clue from them. They only have been a no-show, despite repeated calls and mails.

As my lease was up on Monday, I needed to rent a truck myself that afternoon, pack up everything, and begin driving.

They phoned me back on Monday midday (because I had been in the midst of packing up my uHaul) and explained that the motorist was”ill or something”. I told them I needed my money backagain. They said no.

They told me that their contract states that they reserve the right to pickup within a 48 hour window of the pickup window *due to Acts of God like natural disasters or other unexpected conditions *. (That is correct, their arrangement does state that.)

I said that’s irrelevant because a motorist becoming sick isn’t an Act of God, and moreover there is no excuse for not calling me.

They continue to refuse to repay money.

I contracted with Prestige on short notice, and wish I had done more due diligence and study. Please think about the following red flags which I recognized through a little research, and Choose another firm:

Red Flags with Prestige:
-They request a substantial upfront deposit. Legit moving companies won’t.
-They don’t do an in-house quote. Most untrue moving companies will.
-There are Various typos and spelling mistakes in the contract (“clinet”/customer,”cancelation”/cancellation,”du e”/due, etc etc)
-Their site claims they have been in business since 1993, although a whois query reveals their site was made in January of 2015. Maybe they’re suggesting the beginning date of this firm”Professional Moving & Storage”, that was made in 1993 but has been closed down in 2003, based on bbb.org. Not sure exactly what’s happening there, however, bbb.org claims that”Based on information supplied by the North Carolina Utilities Commission, Prestige Worldwide Transferring is on no account linked to Expert Moving & Storage, Inc DBA Prestige Moving & Storage in Chapel Hill, that functioned by 2002-2012 and is currently out of business.” Therefore it seems that Prestige is asserting the lineage of Expert Movers, even though there”is no link”. I clearly do not know the complete story, but the indications show troubling inconsistencies.
-As of this writing of the review, their site claims a bbb.org score of A+, even though it’s presently a D+ (as of Feb 19, 2016).
-The image on their site, that reveals a truck using a Prestige emblem on it, is obviously photoshopped. I paid extra to get delicate things packaged and they broke almost everything possible. They broke a classic coffee table to some 1,000 bits (I actually started to cry when I watched it), a classic lamp foundation was broken, and a floor lamp color was broken, so lots of dishes were broken (and as many folks know – if you divide one bit in a feeling of china – then you have one less place setting). I’ve recorded all of the breakage with photographs. They had been requested to attract (and we paid for) at least 8-10 garment boxes… they attracted them and packed them but none single garment was wrapped up – they simply threw the clothing, hangers and all, to the boxes. They also packaged other things from the garment boxes – in 1 box that they place 2 floor lamps along with a desk lamp – that the lamp shades were thrown in on top and RUINED!!! Like so very many matters. A simple thing such as packaging some toilet items – everything was just thrown fluids and in went in upside down – becoming powders and makeup moist and RUINED! I then must cover well over $8,000 for this incredibly rotten support!

It is calculated on an affordable price per square foot according to a list checklist you send them. To find the most accurate quote possible I submitted a very thorough list that comprised the specific dimensions of all of my boxes and things. I chased and composed the material of all my boxes, something that I urge during any movement.

2. A random moving firm is going to appear in your property.

I fought nearly daily with somebody in Prestige but needed to cover the exorbitant new level for desire of my belongings (we were now nearly two weeks outside and residing in an entirely empty new apartment).

5. Do not expect to understand when your shipping will be.

I’ve not had a business lie so many occasions and have such dreadful customer support. After nearly two months of moving back and forth I finally got my own things but I was after several telephone calls and questioning when my stuff has been dropped because they did not understand where it was in.
The movement began in CA and I had been provided a level rate by earnings, and guaranteed numerous occasions that it would not change. The packed my belongings on the vehicle and it moved out of an $1,800 transfer to some $4,000 transfer. I am a single mother and proceeded to Utah therefore there’s absolutely no way I could manage that shift. After being shouted at and called a liar that they decreased the cost once I insisted that they take my things from the truck. I felt dreadful for the motorist since he had been caring and kind but trapped in the center. We snapped the price down to $3,000 and away they went together with my belongings. I eventually obtained my possessions and that I had been charged an extra $900, to acquire access to this storage location. After I got to the storage location the small old couple who possessed it clarified that the motorist cut the telephone line along with his truck that the telephone company costs them $900 to fix it. The older couple has been without a call for 5 times and they obviously billed the motorist. So it seems like due to his mistake I had been billed more to regain the cost. I now now had access to my own stuff and what was put in there to some point I don’t have any idea even where to begin on doing it.
Thus all in all that I had been bill near $4,000 to get a movement which was suppose for a flat rate of $1,800. When I needed to do it all over again I’d of gone with storage PODS which could of cost $2,000. I would not of been shouted at, hung up on or lied to about the obligations.

They also gave me estimation of $3000.00 in my transfer and if they arrived to pickup I needed to pay $700.00 dollar more later discussion differently they said they will not pick this up and that I did not had time to find another appointment from a different firm as I was already late for transfer to new location for work.
