We chose to utilize platinum for our relocation, as they place as much work to the pre-move provider, everything looked very organized and organized in the office personnel answering the calls and emails, and also the thorough quotation we obtained. I’m very happy to state the moving team was equally as great, we’d 3 moving guys on our relocation, two very experienced men and a younger man, although if we asked when he had been’learning the ropes’ he had been quick to inform us he’d worked there for five decades! All three of these were exceptional, they had all unloaded within our brand new home, every piece of furniture neatly positioned at which we desired, and prepared to begin unpacking by 3.30! I would strongly recommend.
I sent an email asking to get a quotation and I got an email back in hours. I obtained a quotation after my telephone call. The movers came punctually, wealthy very fast and unloaded just as quickly. They were quite professional and pleasant. We spent much more time in traffic moving out of Illinois to California then the true transfer. I’d use this company again!
We proceeded in January of the year together and had an exceptional move. It had been among the very few really cold days that we have had and also the guys were terrific. The guys worked easily and economically and got the work done in time. I ordered pizza for them and they loved this. Thanks again for producing hectic and stressful day as simple as possible.
Platinum Van Lines Must be among the worst moving businesses ever. They blatantly quote you a reduced cost to Receive Your Company then after your material is packed and filled that the cost more than doubles. They do not understand the meaning of customer support and are impolite, liars, and incredibly unprofessional! Stephanie in shipment shouldn’t deal with clients in any way in any way! I had been quoted a cost around $5,000 but then the end price was nearly $12,000. The issue with this is, I had been quoted for transferring a three bedroom house, I just sent the equivalent of a 1 bedroom flat! I phoned for whoever lent me the cost and go figure, they said she no longer worked there. When I did get my things, almost all of my boxes at which smashed or torn and a few brand new furniture I bought before I left was ruined. The term glass or fragile onto your items does not imply anything to the movers. Additionally, I had a couple boxes and other things missing that they assert was abandoned inside their warehouse by error that has been around a month and they still haven’t shipped it yet after several calls. I don’t want this business in my worst enemy! Steer clear of platinum van lines like your life depended upon it!
This is a whole bait and switch. They had a girl on the telephone with us to gauge our things, asking for things. We moved ahead with the quote and has been quoted $1600. This figure was reduced though not too much so that it triggered some immediate phenomena. This is an error on the part.
After the movers arrived, (over 8 hours late, with just a telephone call the day before to inform us), they immediately stated that the”binding” quotation they used wasn’t really binding and that they would wind up charging us almost 1000 more.
When I called to whine I was informed I could find a telephone all the following day I never did. I phoned again and was told by customer support that it might be handled by”dispatch” and ought to expect a telephone call. I never really did. I called dispatch and later quitting me a few times on the telephone and basically ignoring any of my complaints (like not telling me if the items would be sent ) told me that she refused to Speak to me and informed me I Had to talk to customer support. I was subsequently hung up on and with no estimate of when I could anticipate our things.
I’ve not ever taken the opportunity to write a review but I don’t need any user to go through the HELL that I went through with Moving APT, Accurate Moving dba Platinum Van Lines. These associations have mastered black email by holding your own personal belongings hostage to grow their fees. I’ve been a business owner for thirty decades and have not experienced such blatant disregard for the customer and decent enterprise.
Everything began when I got a call from Adrian at Transferring APT, he clarified that in Transferring APT when the moving charges are established there will be no extra fees. In addition, he said other transferring Co. will improve their prices at time of shipping. In addition, he conveyed to me that they provided 30 days of free storage when I would like it. I explained that I didn’t have a home now in Los Angles, that is a non-issue due to this thirty days of free storage. They shipped me there quote which said 1 month of free storage. Now I agreed to utilize their services.
This is where it becomes interesting, moving day! My house is packaged ready for the movers. The inspector arrive with a gentleman who introduces himself as Mike the owner of Accurate Moving dba Platinum Van Lines. Then he proceeds to start to complete a new contract and that the other contract out of Moving APT wasn’t true and he’d require an extra $500.00. With this period 3/4 of my private belonging are packed on the vehicle. I proceeded to call my delegated client support representative Gina who strove to get this solved. After two hours of debate and Lots of stress I consented to cover their extra fees because they’d my private belongings loaded on the vehicle. At that moment I had been assured by Mike in Accurate Transferring dba Platinum Van Lines and Gina at Transferring APT there wouldn’t be any extra fees and only let them know when I locate a residence.
I arrived in LA on a Thursday and started my apartment hunt that is quite tough. It is Saturday late afternoon and that I get a call from Mike in Accurate Moving dba Platinum Van Lines, ” he explained that his worker would like to send my furniture on Sunday. I explained that I haven’t found a home. His reply was you’ll be billed a re-delivery and storage fee, I explained to him my contract with Transferring APT reads I have 30 days of free storage. Mike advised me no free storage and to receive my private belonging I need to pay the extra fees. I proceeded to telephone Moving APT without a reply. On Monday I get a call from Gina at Transferring APT and she assured me that there will be no extra fees for the 30 free storage that’s said in my arrangement.
Five days after I procure a flat, I phone my urge Gina at Transferring APT to make her conscious of my new address. She stated I would be set on the shipping program. 1 week after I get a call from the driver of the moving truck to program delivery. He then proceeded to inform me regarding the balance due of $901.00 which has been on the contract along with also a redelivery and storage cost of $500.00.
I jumped to call Gina to learn why this wasn’t solved, while I had been dialing another call came in from another motorist explaining he was the driver and now the balance due was $901.00 and $500.00 and additional $270.00. In addition, he said to receive my own belonging he would have to get compensated in money. The review you’ve just read is your definition of blackmail. PLEASE DO NOT USE Transferring APT, Accurate Moving dba Platinum Van Lines it’s hazardous for Your Wellbeing. Only a side note, My furniture seem as though it went through a washing machine, Lamps missing or broken.
I have moved over 15 days in my entire life, which is actually the worst by far! They sub-contracted into a company I had never heard of, and also the direct driver immediately tried to alter the consented to price by almost $1000 via what could only be called extortion-like behaviour. To make them load, I consented to an extra $600 from”packaging materials” I am retired government enforcement and threatened to get them arrested for attempted extortion. . .but even that didn’t dissuade them from jacking up the price. When I called to complain the following day, I had been advised that I”played the game fairly well” and also to ensure I had the residual amount due at a postal money order only. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING LIED TO AND EXTORTED.
IF YOU SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS, DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. They’ll provide you a $50 military reduction but have no troubles lying to profit your company, simply to get take advantage and require an extra $350 of a retired army personnel’s hard earned money. ***I’ve yet to obtain delivery of my merchandise and will soon be updating this review in relation to the state of my merchandise. *** I wanted to post this review as soon as you can in the hopes of preventing any more customers from being scammed/conned/taken advantage of by these people today!! On 12/17/13, I entered into a contract with TransUnited under the premise of several oral promises made to me personally. I had been told that a lengthy transport fee wouldn’t be evaluated to me because of my request of having a 26-foot truck for shipping. I explicitly said this demand over and above because I understood that a semi trailer wouldn’t be able to get my area. In speaking with several different moving companies, I shopped around for a moving company who wouldn’t evaluate this type of fee. Alex, the moving adviser assigned to me, especially said that a fee wouldn’t be assessed. Platinum Van Lines, who TransUnited asserts as a sister firm, was the firm who picked up my merchandise and is currently scheduled to send it to my existing site. On 12/19/13 shipment called me personally to inform me that the guys coming for pickup will be coming into my previous address on 12/20/13 between 4pm and 7pm. About 12/20/13 at 6:30pm once the guys hadn’t yet come and that I hadn’t yet got any word from shipment, I called dispatch and left a message. I was subsequently called shut to 7pm from the driver stating that they’d held up from a former job but could be finishing up in one hour and ought to get to my home at 10pm or that I could await a different driver, in which event they wouldn’t understand when my things could be picked up. Fearing that consequence, ” I said to only come when they can, however late. At 9pm I obtained a last call in the driver saying that they’d need to postpone the pickup to 12/21/13. My things have been picked up on 12/21/13 along with also my initial available shipping date was 12/24/13. Fast-forward to yesterday when dispatch called to let me understand my family goods were in transit. An email was also sent to me saying that I ensure”no constraints upon delivery” or a lengthy haul fee could be assessed. I obviously was angry because I’d been assured that it wouldn’t be assessed. Platinum Van Lines and TransUnited now both state that I need to pay and extra $350 to receive my possessions to me since I signed contracts saying my understanding of this a”shuttle charge” and that Alex didn’t note a lengthy haul fee wouldn’t be assessed. As a customer, I have been right and especially misled by this business to gain my own business. I’d originally planned on going with the other moving company earlier Alex made the claims that she didn’t get my business.I have sent complaints to BBB and protectyourmove.gov. All these businesses will SCAM you and CON you. Don’t be tricked by them just like I did! I had been originally set to deal with Moving USA and Alex made sure to speak seriously about them and pointed out two poor BBB evaluations for your enterprise to gain my company (for any agents of Moving USA reading this, this case is probably not the first time this company has done this to remove your company ). Alex out of Trans United Inc. pointed out their BBB rating, an A- to its Hallandale, FL place, but neglected to mention that the F score for Trans United Inc Miami, FL. The rep from Platinum Van Lines (Stephany) verified a Miami, FL place for Trans United Inc.In complete, my movement containing of below 200 cubic feet will soon be costing me $1,801.83. Neither of these amounts are exaggerations and that I wish I’d gone with a really known and respectable firm like Atlas Van Lines or even Mayfair (movers/brokers who transferred me and my loved ones when serving under the army ). They cost just a little bit longer but they never used deceipt or unjust practices on their customers. You have spent this lengthy reading this review, please consider a couple of minutes longer to investigate the following moving business, also DO NOT USE either Trans United Inc or Platinum Van Lines.
BE WARNED BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY. They stolen my huge suitcase that has all of my new and expensive things. They hurt my brand new leather sleeper couch very major cut from the leather whereas they shot rapping away out of it. Never. Ever use this organization.
BE WARNED BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY. They stolen my huge suitcase that has all of my new and expensive things. They hurt my brand new leather sectional couch very major cut from the leather whenever they shot rapping away out of it. Never. Ever use this provider.
We moved from Ohio to Illinois. They pick our stuff up as intended. Charged us 300 additional for additional packing. Any the way they also guaranteed delivery in 3 times nearly 380 miles. Delivered following 6 days. A significant suite situation is dropped with valuable things indoors. Coupe items stolen from other lawsuit cases. Tried to phone broiler dispatcher and push with zero luck. But they use to phone you 100times till you register contract. Then you’re stuck with this litter. I will not suggest it whatsoever. Punch of liars and thieves. Take note.
Everything began on May 16th, 2014 I contacted” Platinum Van lines” I had been given a grand total for transferring fees and fees in the sum of $1,075 that I paid $752.50 of that left a balance of $322.50. When I call to put up this I talked with a customer service representative named Layla. Layla never explained that my cost could go up because of how the provider raises rates based on cubic cementer. She also never explained I would be charged a storage charge for a $189.20 either. When my object where picked up out of my storage device first off the motorist nor did my dispatch department contacted me to let me know that he was there picking up my items. Nobody contacted me to tell me that my balance had shifted from $322.50 to $1817.78 possibly, I didn’t find out about this before two weeks after after my items where to happen to be delivered.Which from how in which the driver had been instructed to take the lock off my storage unit and deliver the lock and key too that was a lock which my grand dad who passed gave me. Rather he put the lock back on the storage device and opt to just take the key. Nobody called me to inform me that instead of my items being delivered into Georgia that my things where sent to Las Vegas. I didn’t find this out before I called in and talked with Barbie also called Barbara. Which she explained that my things at which in AZ.. Barbie continue to guarantee me that I would be given a discount do to everything that happened. What she neglected to mention or state is I was also being billed for my items to sit down in a trailer before the motorist picked up my items again. Again weeks and days go by and nobody called me, so again I had to phone and talk with Barbie again and she says to me that my things were picked up and on there way and that I must be receiving a call in the driver. Again times and times go by nobody calls, understand calls from the driver, and so I phoned Barbie again and she explained to me that she is still attempting to learn who the motorists is and what his cell telephone number was. She explained that I shall call you back after I have that information, nobody called before last week that is currently June 9th, 2014 the motorist eventually contacts me and state that he was given the incorrect amount so that’s the reason I never got a call from him. My items have been held hostage along with the price continues to increase on a day to day basis. First I was told I needed to pay $189.20 to the storage price but now as of now I’m a amount supporting as of this 17th with the initial payment. That I ended up paying a total of $930.46 in storage obligations, in addition to paying a 3% processing fee every time that I used my credit card to create a payment that’s absurd to me. Additionally, I was struck by $75 late penalties on account of the simple fact that I’m handicapped and receive monthly obligations. Which I clarified to Barbie however I felt as though she didn’t care anything about that, I felt as though it was all about the cash as it came to the corporation. After I left my eventually payment I needed to go to select up my things just to discover I needed to wait for 30 mins to get somebody to let me into the device. As I waited I chose to talk to the girls who opened the device were my items were being saved. She explained that Platinum van traces were Robbers as it came to doing business and that they don’t treat individuals items with caution. As she opened up the device I was exceptionally pissed my exactly what I noticed. My items were being saved in a unit which has been a 10*20 that I had been told that my items were being saved in a 10*10 storage device that was a lye. Not only was my items saved in a 10*20 that I was being billed $189.20 per month for, but my items was storage with somebody elses possessions. My items had been split using a slender piece of tape. Making me dropped like when another man came in they might help there selves to some of my things. As I walked up to my items I noticed that my things were thrown into a corner and they very fact I had every box tagged as to exactly what was in every box, the movers didn’t care. As I start moved my items on the moving truck there was broken glass falling from my boxes, boxes needed be crushed down to nearly nothing. I might see off hand that matters were lost and things were lost. When I moved my things in my house and I start unpacking my items I noticed that my Hand table that was a racket was broken, and my dishes have been broken, and my glass which goes along with the desk was gone along with is missing. My furniture has been drugged and scratched it up has rips on the two couches, the plank is coming from the base of one of those couches. My swivel seat has also been trashed and ripped off the leather. My Ottoman was torn and trashed up on all four sides.I’m so outraged with what happened and the way my items were treated. My furniture was scratched beyond belief, I suggest my items a destroyed. I labored hard for the items that I have or will I state had and also the fact that my matters where treated like crap which you simply take out and throw to the side of this road is just heart breaking for me. I wouldn’t even do garbage like how my things were completed. I’d love not to only have my items replaced or will I say be paid for my items that’s been lost and damaged. But I would also prefer to be reimbursement to the money which I paid too, because I had been cared for and that’s not was that I signed up for whatsoever.
Please use somebody else! Pay extra to get your possessions delivered by a firm who cares. My spouse and I, together with our 4 children, moved from California to Oklahoma and at the procedure now have lost almost everything. I don’t have any clue where to begin… everything out of WHOLE bedroom sets which inluded the bed, night stands, dresser status mirror all overlooking, clothing and I’m not just one single box of clothes came, each and every wall artwork and image gone, not even a single mirror or wall mounted sconce or toilet image, our personal computer and TVs all vanished, kitchen products even my recipe box into the rice cooker gone, garden furniture, sheets, and blankets, towels & pillows gone… I mean what…. gone. I keep anticipating a telephone call or delivery since a lot is lost, but weeks have passed and we still haven’t heard anything. They won’t actually answer the phone anymore. Please… if you wish to keep whatever you’ve then PLEASE pay additional to get a firm who cares.
Superstar Van lines hired this shifting company to transfer EVERYTHING my household of 5 possessed. They did so knowing this carrier wasn’t licensed. They picked up our belongings around the 2nd of March 2018. I have been told recently by a former driver for this carrier that all of our possessions was gone through and sold or thrown off.
I had a minimal sized movement — 200 cu ft. In 200 cu ft and beneath the cost is $5/cu ft. As soon as you get into 250 cu feet, then the speed varies to $4.20/ / cu feet. So basically — a 200 cu foot movement is exactly the exact same cost as a 250 cu ft movement. I orginially went for this business since they billed by distance rather than by weight — this system makes it so that there is a good deal less changeable. . .and really no openings. . .in price. What they offered me was a binding quotation and it didn’t change during the procedure. I paid approximately $1100. My sales person was Miles — that he was amazing and made me feel quite comfortable about the movement, since it is my very first long distance movement. But once I finished my stock, they’d no longer link me to Miles. Rather, I’d constantly be led to another Platinum Van Lines amount, in which I talked with a girl called Barbie (and some others). I’reserved’ my pickup time nearly two months prior to my pickup date. They offered me a window to pickup between the 27th and 28th of this month. Then, the evening prior to the 27th (end of business hours) they called to say they’d be 3 or 4 months late. This destroyed all of my traveling programs — and also cancelling matters past minute and rescheduling is obviously pricey. Subsequently , they handed me a delivery window of 3-10 days. But, THAT’S JUST AN AVERAGE! They’ve from the fine print on the rear part of the Bill of Lading that they have 30 business days (no weekends or even vacations!) To produce your own stuff. My pickup date was overdue, my delivery required 17 extra days after having a late pickup. I predicted several times asking that they provide me an upgrade or may estimate delivery period, however they shouldn’t have a definite program for deliveries since they often said they’d phone me back and did not. I had been told several times that they would call me if they abandoned their warehouse at Chicago (to get a longer to Virginia), but just got a telephone 4 hours prior to coming stating that they had been at Maryland. With each of the inconveniences, client support (the only woman who had been type on the telephone!) Stated that this is an infrequent occrance and I’d be paid, and thanked me for being elastic. However, I doubt this is an uncommon occurance. Customer support sent an email to charging requesting that they charge me a reduction. On the telephone with charging, they confirmed this email a few times — thus be certain that if a person informs you may find a discount that it is listed in writing. Within a $1100 transfer that took 17 weeks to send, they gave me a $50 discount. Do not come near me for cancelling and rebooking a flight for my destination and never have to reside at a new flat with no of my things for fourteen days. That Said I WOULD NEVER USE PLATINUM VAN LINES FOR A MOVE AGAIN. I’d much rather employ an area moving company in my own destination to unload a UHAUL I could push myself and make sure that I got to my destination in time. I expected to utilize a moving company to calm the stressful process of proceeding. But Platinum Van Lines failed just the reverse for me — dealing with this business was that the MOST stressful portion of my movement. And to tell the truth, I’m a fairly flexible individual. However, in this circumstance, I wouldn’t ever recommend this firm to anybody. I’d hate for anybody to need to experience the hassle and bad service I did.
I gave Kinect van traces a 1star just since I could not have given it less. These folks are extremely dishonest in their own representation of fees and services. I received a”binding” quotation from my own salespeople, Alex. If the movers eventually showed up two + hours late, my”binding charge” abruptly increased by 600. We continued together with the transfer, however when signing the last paperwork, it was revealed that they wouldn’t deliver our items before almost a month after. Problematic when all my daughter possessed and wanted for another month OUT OF the nation and also to move to another college on her return from Europe was sitting in storage. We turned out after a full days drive toward Oklahoma (from LA) to let our personal truck, recover my daughters possessions in the storage device that they place it in, and push it home ourselves. They refunded a part of my cash but after reading reviews, I believe I am just happy to get her possessions back (although We haven’t opened each box or purse to be certain nothing was shot nonetheless ). I tried calling our salespeople for help but that he never returned any texts or calls. This can be a dreadful moving firm. Never under any circumstances will I recommend them.
Platinum Van Lines is a Massive DISAPPOINTMENT.
1. PLATINUM DAMAGED MY EXPENSIVE DRESSER BUT WON’T PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED PROPERLY.
PLATINUM’S MOVERS struck a leg in my pricey dresser, which includes unbalanced the dresser so that you can not even open some of those drawers. However, PLATINUM palms above all damage claims to a different, independent, business. After finishing a time consuming program and waiting for two months, then I checked with all the business, who advised me that they’re backlogged FOUR weeks. So I took it on myself to get quotes for the fix and shipped them straight to PlatinumCard, who agreed to deal with the claim. The quotes that I have were $245 and $270 to repair the dresser, however, Platinum informs me that their limitation for this product is $90. So I’m now going to need to pay for the majority of the repair myself. VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT PLATINUM DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAMAGES ITS MOVERS CAUSE.
2. PLATINUM’S MOVING MEN WERE VERY DISORAGANIZED ON BOTH ENDS AND I ENDED UP LOSING AN IMPORTANT BOX.
I have utilized LIGHTNING VAN LINES previously and I suppose that they loathed me. LIGHTING is super-organized and reliable but they do not work from Florida so that I could not utilize them for this movement – too poor!
We had a HORRIBLE experience with Platinum Van Lines-Hotlanta Movers. Listed below are 5 reasons to not select this provider. Oh, and they’re not licensed by BBB, which ought to happen to be our red flag warning.
1. This corporation may not subcontract, but apparently they have a sister firm, Hotlanta Movers. This was not mentioned before the afternoon of our movement after a Hotlanta truck hauled. They could have other sister companies, so see!
2. Inventory listing you produce with the booking specialist is comparatively useless. A. First of all, they don’t have professional to appear and take stock of your property. You need to gauge sq feet of stuff by yourself. B. Driver/packers might not be granted the updated listing, and they do not read through it so any things that may require special packing might not receive the ideal therapy, which equals broken products!
3. Together with this”futile inventory checklist” (motorist’s words, not ours ), beware of overcharges! a. Our first bid was near $2500 and that I knew we’d have more things and cover so. Turns out rather than approx. 700 sq feet of possessions, we had close to 900 (nobody really does some measuring). Our cost went from the approx. $2500 to approx. $4500. After we called customer service, who joined us to dispatch they understood the motorist never needed the new stock checklist and was pricing incorrect but finally said, he’ll provide you a cost and you take it or leave it. After a quick phone call with his boss that he gave us exactly what appeared to be a random number of 3500. My spouse is an Actuary and does calculations daily, and did the mathematics of this driver’s stock and we ought to have paid $300 less than we did, but in the time we needed to pay at $3500 only for or items on the street! b. We were also charged for many boxes we supplied, a mattress purse plus they also used a number of our packaging supplies- again, could have been avoided had they taken a look at our stock list.
4. Reservation specialist tricked us and client support is impolite!!
a. The booking specialist was EXTREMELY cordial and beneficial initially (I even requested to talk to his manager simply to compliment him on his client services. He articulated himself nicely and assured us no openings and also said he’d be available during the procedure. WRONG!!! The moment we signed the contract, delivered the test, he vanished. We called a few times and he was always”from the workplace” so of course we did not think anything of it but kept trying. Then we emailed and never heard back. Ultimately, after lots of tension and agony from the moving day, I sent him an email titled”BBB Complaint” since we knew we’d be submitting a complaint but wished to give him a opportunity to make amends. , Ultimately, his manager wrote back stating that the booking specialist did not have access to our accounts once we signed the contract that is why he never returned calls/emails. Why the hell did he say he’d be accessible and why did not someone tell us sooner rather than creating endless excuses???? B. Customer Support is impolite. I talked to a woman by the name of Stephanie the afternoon of this move because I had been horrified in the pricing problem we experienced. She had been condescending and defensive. She also claimed she’d go through all of my paperwork when the truck and driver returned that was a lie since she clearly ought to have known that they don’t really deal with claims at work (See number 5).
5. Should you mistakenly select to utilize this business and have a poor encounter, the filing of a claim will probably be even worse. It’s a massive hassel, and you’ll feel like no one is in your side. Keep documentation of each email, each broken thing (pics, receipts, etc.,) and each of the transferring paperwork bc you’ll need to scan it and apply it into the claims firm. a. You file a complaint with Platinum Van Lines using a succinct outline of what you had been overcharged. They fwd one to a claims firm, who needs you to set up an account with them, get approval of enrollment, receive a password and then eventually you can login. You then go through line by line to spend the information, together with weight, description, and worth. Upload pics (I had to email them bc that the website would not let me upload huge files, and supply a written criticism. All the while, they are allegedly getting info out of the Business and once they examine files , they will get back to you. b. We’re in a situation where our broken things do not add until the deductible so that we prob will not ever be able to recoup our broken products! The sole reason we did not employ an lawyer is since we are not actually litigious individuals, but we still went through with submitting the complaint because we would like to own supporting documents to present to the BBB.
Terrible eperience. Actual Extortian. Business didn’t honor quote. 5 movers showed up to fill us from home. 1 plumber demonstrated up to load us in. The occupation was to large for 1 mover. He piled the boxes. Crushing the delicate contents of many. He simply bascially dropped off them and left. Don’t transfer things upstairs. Antiques weren’t protectes and many bits are broken and scraped. Some things are worth are missing. BE WARNED BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY. WE DID NOT SELECT THEM, UNBEKNOWNST TO US, WE WERE SUBCONTRACTED WITH THEM THRU BUDGET. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. WE WERE (OVER) CHARGED 3500.00 FOR BROKEN, SCRATCHED, and LOST ITEMS
We’d been operating on our transfer from Michigan to Florida for a month or two, getting many quotes from several movers. We cut it down to Platinum and two others. We had a very strict budget and had sold a lot of our furniture before our move to ease staying inside the $1400-$1600 budget we all proposed. We were truthful with Platinum on that which we could manage and ended up sending paychecks lists back and forth several times within a few weeks. Our inventories were rather precise, having taken the opportunity to quantify items which couldn’t be boxed and packaging our boxes to remain inside the 35 boxes figured into the finished inventory. We ended up moving with Platinum since Simon had worked tirelessly with us to strike a last quote of 1575. I felt great about the movement and also scheduled a June 26th pick-up. We’ve got a call in Platinum saying that a”team” was in our field and asking when we can adapt a pick up 2 days earlier than our scheduled day. We agreed, imagining they’ve been great to us, we all do not mind helping them out if we could. My fiance had worked quite difficult at packaging a complete home by herself because due to my inability to leave work to assist her. She hurried the last minute packaging so everything will be prepared at that time Platinum came at 7 pm Tuesday night. The truck showed up and it was not a Platinum Truck, it was a truck out of Swift Moving Business”. I received a frantic phone call from her soon after 7 pm saying that the”estimator” told her that the transfer was going to charge another $500 because of being”95 cubes” within the quote. On the phone I contended with him saying that we had correctly quantified everything and even came in 3 boxes shy from this 35 allotted from the quote. They’d not loaded one box but told me he can tell it had been”95 cubes” over simply by taking a look at these items. We followed the Platinum standards in box dimensions and that I pointed out that being bashful that the 3″3 block” boxes, that we had been 27 cubes brief of the initial quote. The driver told me that if we did not agree to the additional they’d just leave. Discuss feeling hijacked. I had no option, figuring I’d work this out with Simon and at the conclusion Platinum will be professional and at least listen to our plea. In addition to the while loading, they’d ripped all of the tape off our boxes, re-taping them no more different than we’d, simply using their particular tape. (yes we had been billed for packaging material). I had a glass bookcase that, as I had been told, would need to be”crated in wood” to safeguard it, at an extra charge. The bookcase was wrapped in a blanket and recorded together with cardboard, not just one effort to crate it or protect it. Following our things were loaded, obviously came time to create a payment based on the agreed conditions. The amount the motorist wanted didn’t include the 320 deposit we’d made and when questioned he answered”you did not make a deposit”. Another debate ensued. After return to printing and email a copy of the receipt showing that yes we’d, his answer was only a”grunt” followed his racing to complete the bill of lading and other paper work. They had been very unprofessional and just plain rude. The very next morning that our telephone calls began, attempting to achieve Simon. My fiance and I both called and called, each time being told Simon was occupied and could return our telephone. After two days of calling we’ve yet to be given a return telephone call from Simon. Finally I had been successful and spoke to”Allie” who appeared to make a sincere effort to provide help. Because it was almost quitting time because of her she asked me to call back the next day and to request her. My telephone call the next day led to both Allie and Simon being occupied with the guarantee to return our phone. I’ve yet to get any return call from anybody at Platinum. Last evening my fiance was effective in speaking to some person named”Connie” who provided a $100 reduction for our frustration however once we phoned tonight to acquire a last price, the reduction was nowhere available. Overall, Platinum is a quality example of a”bait and switch” kind of scam. They lure you in with all the guarantee of a reasonable cost and if they appear, let you know it’s likely cost a great deal more. As you’ve made all of your plans, the very last thing you can do is reschedule a moving van on short notice. In my view, the simple fact that no one at Platinum will return our calls or assist us is proof enough for me. Tonight we had been advised that our final payment would be $885. I’d wager my life that if they appear to deliver our things, they will want more cash. In taking a look at the bill of lading they recorded that we transferred 12 seats, we just had 8. They said we’d 39 boxes, we now just had 32. They were suppose to crate that our glass things and they did only wrap them into a blanket. As a result of excess cost, I must wait around for one more pay check to make the payment and needed to postpone the delivery. Supposedly they’ll store our things for 30 day at no cost. I really bet that won’t be the situation. For those men and women who had a fantastic experience with this business, I salute you. Implementing Platinum Van Lines for our transfer from Michigan to Florida has been the biggest mistake I’ve made in years and I wouldn’t ever believe them or any of the”sister companies” to get a transfer later on. In my opinion they’re jagged, incredibly unprofessional and also only out to take your hard earned cash. I’ll be submitting a report with the Better Business Bureau too. A massive movement like ours is trying enough and the final thing you want is to be scammed by a firm like Platinum.
