I hired Peace of Mind to transfer two heaps of things from California to Kentucky. The prices seemed fair, and they had been quite responsible when scheduling the delivery. That is when it all ended.

The first shipment went pretty easily. Even though the movers rescheduled less than 12 hours before it was due for pickup, the products were picked up and forced it into the destination approximately a week after. (The shipping was also rescheduled – again, with less than 12 hours advanced notice).

The second went horribly.

I regularly referred to as the company (almost once every day), attempting to determine if the next half of my purchase could be delivered. I was constantly told”2-3 days” or”3-4 times”. . .for over fourteen days. Messages were not returned, so when I did not happen to phone when a person was about, tough luck for me. (Additionally, my planner did not seem too effective at calling shipment *or* of moving me to her boss – she denied a few times ) I just was able to find anybody to return a phone once I threatened a law suit.

This is the only manner where I received my things delivered in any respect. I had a business trip, that may or may not match the shipping. (Again, it was”2-3 times” to the previous 6 months ) I informed them both the dates and was advised that things could be sent then – at which time I informed them that if they had been, it was their difficulty to work out how to shop and re-deliver. This somehow got my thing delivery expedited.

Merely to make matters worse, a number of my things (especially furniture, that is sort of obvious) was not delivered. When I inquired why a sewing table I have hadn’t arrived, I had been told that it did not exist, was not on the manifest, and that I had been lying. I explained it again and asked them to confirm the truck, merely to be sure. AFter describing the thing approximately ten times, they were able to find it. I guess that additional things might not have been sent, also, I did not notice. (In retrospect, I must have tagged and counted all of the boxes in addition to shot pictures.) So I am not happy…

Merely to make things even more intriguing, somehow some type of resin has been spilled all over a number of those boxes, therefore some of my furniture is destroyed *and* I needed to take care of tacky, tacky stuff after unpacking.

This can be for your new client. These folks simply fool the clients. Eventhough they will provide you the quote for 3 guys but really just two guys do the job and that’s also not to their entire capacity. They’ll attempt to consume maximum hours so as to charge you more and at the end they’ll charge you for a number of these things they’d haven’t clearly told you earlier. SO PLEASE BEWARE OF THESE MOVERS. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE THESE GUYS.

So I jumped to Florida.   Upon coming here August 2012 I    contacted Peace of Mind.   The agent was Daisy.   We moved back and forth.   I was shifting my shifting dates and lots of, many occasions she promised to haven’t received files.   Credit card information, inverntory listing.   Ultimately the conclusion of March 2013 I’m always in contact with her since I’m in Florida, I Must take 5 days holiday, rent a car and drive into Texas to meet the winners.   I make complete certain she’s all of my advice.   I email a few times and she mails me back absolutley reassuring me all is well.   What a joke.   Therefore I get there, bunch several things I still have in storage from boxes and that I wait a 2 days to your pickup date.   Granted I’ve given Daist all of my contact information from Texas through email.   My mobile and my chicks mobile.   She tells me that they will call me daily before allow me know what period They’ll Be there.   While I do not hear back anything I contact her.   She sends me an email telling me how she’ll get right onto it.   I Don’t hear something back away from her.   The following morning I awaken and call her.   She states she Isn’t sure What’s going on I want to check.   THis time I really do receive a caller about one hour after telling me that they Couldn’t touch base with me personally.   She had been calling my HOME amount in Florida.   I’m in Texas.   So she state’s well no issue We’ll be there by 3:30.   This time goes and comes and I’m losing my head Now.   I predict that the HOuston movers….no response…I predict Daisy…. No response.   I e mail Daisy..no respone that is all day long!   No response.   I’m pissed.   That day I sent a email saying I’m through coping with them that I do not want their Services.   I get BBC. . I return to Florida 3 times after, my voice email is from calls by your movers.   What’s this going to help me today.   So today I’ve lost 5 times cover, over 1000.00 in lease fees  and that I still have no furrniture.   I would recommend you don’t do business with those folks.   I’m anticipating the BBC to perform this situation before taking other actions against them.   Do not use them!!!   I’ve all of my corresponcence together if anyone should see it but I will need to wait till BBC provides me the fine.

I needed to pick a star differently there will be no shifting fwd. I would not even provide 1/2 a celebrity. I am unsure how the prior remarks got such terrific deals and support but I am happy that they did. My experience was that the complete opposite. They stated that all was contained and they ended up incorporating charges for whatever that they can and I ended up paying over twice the quote. Not just this but they threatened to store all my furniture or take it to storage if I did not pay. To top it all of they struck my furniture, part of my stairs and scraped and ruined my furniture. And of course that the rudeness of these movers. Absolutely dreadful experience and I suggest staying away from these. They’ll tell you that they can not carry your furniture if they don’t utilize X kind of wrap and even then they may split it! You’re essentially made to go by exactly what they tell you… ah! And they’ll give you an outrageous amount for gasoline also… (comparative to the space, which is).

Overall the team worked hard and got the work done, so that I did trick them, but I would not ever use this company again. I delivered an 10 point email for my principal contact following the transfer and haven’t heard back from him concerning some of those problems that I had with the transfer. Let us begin with coming over 2 hours ago my beginning time, also that I wasn’t able to get ahold of my principal contact or anybody in the workplace # about the afternoon of the transfer. I abandoned VM and nobody called me back. Then it took 7.5 hours to get a transfer that required less than five hours after the last time that I moved! I had plans for later this day I had to cancel because of the delayed start and also the protracted time it required the team to proceed. They proceeded SUPER quickly after we got into my new place, so that they were only gradually doing things for your packaging up! They then charged me over $650 for equipment that I never asked for, such as 7 mattress covers for 4 beds… just how can this math work out? What pissed me off the most was that the 10% gas bill that has been 150 and NOT within my quotation. I’d requested before I put the deposit down around ANY additional or hidden charges and had been told that there were none! I got no more”white glove” service, whatever that way! Not measures were taken to safeguard the rugs at either place, and in the new home they ruined the door frame and the door hoping to find a sofa during, instead of unscrew the little legs!! They also billed me via another business name, which I found quite strange also. This entire thing has been a nightmare!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

BUYER BEWARE. We only moved another day 5.5 miles in the previous home. When establishing the transfer we had been quoted about $1,200 that was substantially less than other specialist movers like Allied and JK. I talked with the rep who inquired how many bedrooms we’d had. I replied 5 bedrooms however furniture in only 4, I further stated that it is a major house at 7,000sf together with 10 additional rooms of furniture. He said no difficulty that the cost will pay for it. I requested a few time to allow them to arrive at the home to check out the occupation, in contrast to the other people I received quotations from. His reply was, there’s not any need. (This must have increased a BIG RED FLAG). They arrived the day before the movement to package up. The team was polite and did a very great job, BUT, in the conclusion of the day that the bill was $4,000 including all types of extras that they did not utilize such as 58 traces of tape, white linen boxes (what ever that is) ect. I called the rep managing the movement and got the runaround. The following day they appear in the new place and desired an extra $3000 to float. (they held that our possessions hostage until we compensated ). From the time it had been all over and done with they worked less hours than quoted for every day, billed for stuff they did not utilize, and won’t answer my texts or email about compensation for those hours and substances that they billed for. As a contrast, our earlier transfer was from Maryland into Virginia with the exact possessions and just cost $3500 using JK Movers. And JK took what, I believe EVERY THING. These men won’t require anything not boxed, so in the event that you have things that simply don’t fit in a box, then intend to move these things yourself. In general I don’t recommend with this company, also are creating a report on the BBB too. Please remember that this friendly warning…

Inferior firm. I have hired movers 3 additional occasions and this has been by far the most worst. They lie, lie, lie!

As soon as I called to get a quote to get a 2 BR flat, Chris lent me 645 for two men and projected 4 hours to proceed (I believed it would take 5 thus was ready to move a bit over). The transfer took 7.5 hours and totaled $1185.00 – that you obviously need to cover before they even start unloading!

So now it all starts. Lack of Mind sends me two men who do not speak English! Now, do not you believe that must have come up in my dialogue with Chris?!? Apparently HE does not think so! Not only did they never talk it, but they could not read it either. I set quite detailed descriptions on each and every box, but needed to stand in the doorway and guide them where to place EVERY box. It took twice as long to shut the truck because it must have, plus they snapped one of my bookcases unloading it in the truck.

Subsequently there was the Agency who kept wanting to conceal and speak on his mobile phone. I eventually said (and he appeared to know, that is bizarre since he did not talk English)”I am paying you through the hour, and I am NOT paying you to speak on your telephone!!” He then vanished in the toilet for 20 minutes.

It was a hot afternoon, so that I supplied them with cold beverages and snacks, but they still wanted to stop in the petrol station on the best way to unload and required 20 minutes purchasing a Coke and fries while the clock was still ticking.

They nickel and dime you on EVERYTHING. I had all packed and they still used packaging tape to”protected” it. They tried selling me 28 bubble wrap plus a $61 mattress luggage for my own box spring.

I phoned Chris another morning to find a claim form and voiced my dissatisfaction with the business. I explained everything. He said”I will send you the form and we’re going to provide some type of reimbursement. We would like you to be joyful”. I have not seen a penny and today Chris does not respond to my mails.

I have contacted them 3 days and have not got a call back. I informed the BBB and they did not respond to them either.

Bottom line – Moving yourself is still really a chore, however, it is much less stressful than working together with Peace of Mind Moving. If you have already scheduled your relocation together offset it and suck up whatever deposit you’ve paid – you will regain it by choosing a reliable moving company. If you’re thinking about hiring them, then DON’T DO IT!!!

Unethical, careless, and reckless. Used them once before and everything was nice. This time however the real cost was 3x the quotation. One of the men slept in the truck while the other two labored. Broke a picture did not even flint nor apologize. Worthless.

My error:
Don’t read this fine print-
1- 10 percent fuel surcharge of the whole bill. What fuel has been burnt while the vehicle is left?
Two – They said that there are packaging fees involved ( but didn’t specify how much) and I didn’t ask more about it. Turns out they brought me >$350 in packaging to get a project that they anticipated for 500.

Their defects:
1- They’re frauds who provide erroneous quote despite of understanding every detail concerning the stuff as well as how big the flat or work also slow to fool and earn additional dollars.
2- We had been going few miles off and so asked them not to pack items which aren’t delicate but they stated that they will pack it anyways.
3- I’d scheduled a dawn move, 10:00 am -12:00 pm, so they and said that they will be arriving between 2:00 – 4:00 pm rather. I’d scheduled this time since we had other folks coming to put in dryer washer and net at various times. They eventually came at 4:40 pm.
4- Rather than projected 3 hours – they required 6 hrs!
5- Dis not build the mattress correctly.
6- Although they billed until 10:40 pm and made at 10:25 pm that they didn’t move the desks at the cellar as requested.
7- cracked the packaging material in the gate.

This really is a horrible business.

The moving company is dreadful and therefore are thieves. The sole reason I picked this business was since their quotation was lower compared to other 3 quotes I obtained. They quoted me 834 that was supposed to comprise 3 movers, the vehicle, pads, insurance, boxes, and disassembling/reassembling furniture. After the movement was complete, they billed me $1,766. They also refused to unload the truck before I paid them. So I had to cover this. Additionally, since they were unloading, they broke my desk along with my entertainment centre.

Paid for complete service with packaging and packaging. The driver spoke English, the movers didn’t. Not one single box has been unpacked. 10/10 wouldn’t advocate. We have ripped off. Will not be using this organization or this site again for a transfer. What a nightmare!

Movers were more than 2hrs overdue that put everything behind program. Was supposed to be EASY neighborhood move without a from the ordinary. Quoted $316. Charged $766. Excessive charges for packaging material – $268 for tape and other wrap items which weren’t authorized or needed. 1BR flat (678sf)!!!!! By Reston VA into Alexandria VA.. Gouged my hardwood flooring. Quotation says”FREE moving pads/blankets” but they then bill to fasten them to your own furniture. If trucks are as new and clean as they state, furniture should not require a great deal of wrap taping, etc.. Simply set it in the damn truck and let us go!!!! Misleading and deceptive. They then hold your premises hostage till you agree on the excess charges! I needed to authorize the fee so as to receive my property. But I am disputing the charge with my credit card business. They’re crooks. I won’t ever employ them again and I hope that anyone reading this frees themselves if they decided to conduct business with this organization. Completely unacceptable! I can not even know how they’re still in company!!! Nightmare is appropriate!!! When I informed them I had been disputing the bill and calling the BBB, I was essentially told Good Luck.

On March 19, 2020 that I had been approached by”Alex” and then a”Chris”. “Alex” affirmed my time and date, nevertheless,”Chris” called one hour later and asked if the timing may be transferred sooner. I advised”Chris” I didn’t have the keys into the new residence and that I had a consultation with the house management at 11 would be to find the keys along with other relevant info for my transfer. I advised him that I couldn’t alter the time before I speak into the land management and I’d get back together with him when anything else changes, before then retain the 12 pm appointment. They didn’t transfer all of my things and stole my vinyl wrap (that I bet they’ll use to extort somebody else). I’m still unpacking and according to testimonials hope no things are stolen or broken.

This firm will stunt you, cause psychological distress, induce nervousness, extortion, criminal, frighten you, even blackmail you, and also maintain your precious things for ransom till you cover whatever arbitrary amount they provide you. The total paid for the services rendered is shocking and excessive. This adventure has made the strain of going now much, considerably more stressful.

Bad service/unprofessional – had two movers plus they refused to transfer a lot of my things, they lacked client attention, gave me push back since I didn’t need to leave a paper trail of my credit card information, and broke the frame and box spring of my mattress….failed to even properly reassemble my mattress. It appearred such as the mattress was mended until after that night once we bwent to sit and found that a noticable sinking at the center of the mattress.
