    Good Move

I dealt with some moving companies previously. I had 2 terrible experiences and one fine experience. This time around Noethstar was fantastic. Isaac really took his time when he had been at my home and managed my furniture with care. The shipping was just as easy. Thanks guys.

    Long-distance move from Florida
    Missing items

My household was packaged up by Northstar Movers (from Hollywood, FL) on 10/30/18. I transferred from Destin, FL into OFallon, MO The products were taken to a”warehouse” and repacked on a different truck for shipping on 11/6/18.
It was evident the shipping truck was smaller compared to the pickup truck. (This was a wreck up from the business that they nevertheless have to plead for). My mattresses along with some other things were packaged beyond the truck on the stage. Of note that the mattresses were moist from the weather.
Throughout the unloading I had been informed by the driver that there were approx 20 things left at warehouse. He showed me a photo on his phone and it had been marked on his newspaper work. He explained I’d be reached by friday (11/9) concerning delivery of those missing things.
Of note – that the business was paid in total despite not providing all of my things.
Crucial missing bits incorporate the base to my desk, the headboard to by stage bed, missing bits to my stereo cabinet/fireplace, outside glider, a four degree storage container and a number of other smaller products. Replacement costs are approximately $4800.00 for your listing I’ve up to now.
I’ve phoned them 2-3 times weekly requesting delivery date – and have been advised they’re working on it, it is up to the drivers, so it is loaded on the vehicle, Isaac will call me…. Last time I called I was informed by Lisa – there was nothing she would do along with Ben in client support proceeded to shout at me about phoning, saying they were not likely to sell my things (something that I never said ) and that each time that I call he’s to record my telephone and he gets challenged by his own bosses. That I must stop calling every 5 minutes and that I would be informed if they could bring my things.
I think it is incredible that a moving company can not restrain their drivers along with the program – but naturally they’re compensated in total – so what is the rush?
This is the initial measure of my complaints and should not solved quickly – will proceed up the series to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I am so disappointed – I tried this simple means of callingI’m now employing this particular review.

    Liars from start to finish

Claimed an”on the phone quote” was true. Jumped from $1500 to $3000 to $6500 to $8500 and then a need of $850 CASH at shipping or no go. Promised”platinum support” to get a fee which included packaging everything as it needs to be packed, TVs boxed correctly, clothing hung. Matters were only thrown in boxes, most clothing were thrown in with stuff in addition to 1 box only if dangling clothing, but things crammed in on and around top. EVERYTHING was sterile, such as designer tags and leather coats. Stacks of meals wrapped up as a single unit, not separately. Matters missing, but they did attempt to give us somebody else’s substance. Employed thieves with thick accents who confessed to using their accents as an excuse to pretend NOT to comprehend English, so that they would not need to reply for the undesirable practices. Despite telling us that they were NOT a broker, they are. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY PROMISE, they lie, they cheat. Utilize a nationally recognized firm for example North American Van Lines, Bekins, Two Guys and a Truck, ANYONE EXCEPT NORTH STAR MOVERS!!!!!!!

North Star Movers- DO NOT USE

***** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ****

The day prior to the pickup date I needed to call and discover out when the anticipated delivery time is. Nobody from the company reached me out. In addition, the shipping period shifted during the whole moving day. Initially assumed to arrive at first dawn between 8:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. and then not showing up till 9:45 pm during the night with an apartment complex having silent hours at 11- that the movement wasn’t completed until 1:15 a.m.

-We had been quoted 499.00 for pickup after which 499.00 for shipping. Drivers obtained there and changed the quotation to 1,144.75.

-Drivers stated be sure to look after them with a hint due to the stairs. Unprofessional. Still tipped the motorists 100.00 dollars per piece to their hard work.

-Quoted 3-5 times for your transfer. Do not arrive until day 11. No contact on these in relation to where our material was.

-passengers – the evening before delivery requested to look after them with a hint because of there being staircase.

-Our pricey kitchen table is destroyed from the transfer. The dining table is 999.00. There was not a scratch on it. Used it as decoration in our flat and now it’s destroyed. Possessing this table shielded by seasoned movers is just one of the big reasons we hired a moving company. See photos under this harm.

    – Mike our sales rep hasn’t got us back after repeated efforts to get ahold of him and the provider. He promised he’d be there with us during the move to be certain everything went smoothly and the whole reverse happenend. Beware they will provide you a fantastic sales pitch then after the purchase is completed will vanish.

    Missing things:

    20 missing items

****And still no contact from direction **** sales rep too not reacting.

Move from South Carolina to Georgia

They quoted me about $1500, when they got there it moved up to nearly $3000. The employees asked for meals and beverages, smelt dreadful and had a leased truck. They broke my television, television stand, speakers, awakened my 5000 mattress and took my own boxes that I paid for. Was the strangest transfer I’ve ever needed, left multiple things at my previous location due to the price.

    Amazing Job

I truly should thank Michael and the men at NorthStar for all of the help on the move. We’ve got a new born baby girl and we only have moved to Ohio to our occupation in the hospital. We were overwhelmed by this whole moving thing and talked to Michael and he was fantastic. The men he delivered were very considerate and friendly and worked really hard. Other then a small delay in getting to us that which was astounding. Thank you NorthStar, we could not have done it without you.

Only want to thank Michael and the men at Northstar for the wonderful job they did. I’m in my 70’s and also have a great deal of antiques and valuables along with Jordan and the team were wonderful. They took good care of everything particular and were very considerate. This goes a long way in my own book. Thank you Northstar for helping an old woman when she desired it.

    Super Job

This was the very first time we hired a mover and that which went just how in which the rep told mepersonally. The men were a bit late but they also called to tell me and communicating is quite valuable to mepersonally. What a lot of hard workers. Very considerate and considerate. I’ll be utilizing Northstar to our next movement if there’s one.

Terrible customer service told me to

Bill if thats even his actual name was quite unprofessional. Once I advised him we travelled with the other firm ( read testimonials of other users) he texted back with” learn how to negotiate, continue”
I mean who states thing in this way as soon as they do not get a customer? How uncalled for espacialy because he spent no time whatsoever to us so why all of that passive aggressive talk?
I’d never ever give any money for this firm.

Terrible moving company - do not use

Demanded a lot of hidden charges along with initially quoted fee without the appropriate documentation of charges, and just accepted money. Tough to achieve staff when phoning to organize. Delivery of transfer arrived almost 1 week late. Make sure you read fine print in their own contract. Or better just do not use them whatsoever. Movers quite unprofessional.

A terrible company - do NOT use!!

Don’t use this provider. I jumped from New Jersey to Arizona at January-2019. Northstar assigned this move into some business named State-to-State Movers from New Jersey. If I could give them 0 stars to both companies I’d. Northstar fraudulently over-charged me to get the cubic feet of all products sent. I was obligated to cover after they took ownership of my house. They also needed a (deceptive ) $600 cash payment (to utilize a neighborhood shuttle truck in the destination which wasn’t needed ) before they’d un-load my home on delivery. This is a scam. The shipping was made two weeks following the scheduled date. Communication through the movement has been dumb and dumb. And needless to say, there was noteworthy lost and ruined boxes along with other land. I strongly urge you to Prevent this business,….Greg Moller 6/24/2019

Stay FAR AWAY from this company!!

This was undoubtedly the worst moving experience I’ve ever had! This business is an entire joke.Let me begin by stating I worked as a travel RN for more than 3 decades and moved myself round the nation with no hiccups.I completed graduate school and had been moving out of Columbus, Ohio to Phoenix, Arizona to get a brand new position.I researched innumerable businesses and obtained pricing for pods, movers, and my own Uhaul, etc. After talking with Michael (Senior Relocation Specialist) for more than half an hour on the telephone, I had a real feeling of him and also this organization and made a decision to engage them for my transfer. He said I would get numerous correspondences leading up to this move, through the move, and before delivery. They did have a massive deposit on the telephone at the time to’fasten the transfer’ but it had been totally refundable up to 3 times ahead of the transfer date. I named the week of pickup because I wasn’t contacted by the firm because my deposit was granted two months before. I had been told that I had been scheduled for pickup on 5/30 and could be reached from the driveway. Well after several phone calls and mails on this Thursday, I was FINALLY contacted from the motorist at 6pm after waiting 8 hrs to allow him to demonstrate up.He said that the transfer before me took up a lot of space to the truck and they’d need to go find a different truck which would come about 9pm that night.I told them it had been totally unacceptable.During that moment, I tried to reach out into the organization and Michael and of course could not reach anybody and was not emailed or called back. The motorist said they would arrive at the next day, Friday 5/31 at 7am. Well, at 930am the motorist and his coworker eventually showed up. Nearly two hours has been spent doing paperwork in which the motorist tried to bill me an extra $300 ( $150 fee for getting a elevator in my building and $150 to an”additional long haul span”) because I dwelt to the 5th floor. These”hidden fees” were never divulged to me on the telephone once I booked the transfer with Michael or obtained the quotation through email. They also said that my sofa wasn’t on the stock list and they didn’t have sufficient space for it.It could have been just another $500 to get them add the sofa to my already very compact load (I lived in a 1 bedroom flat which was 800 sq feet ). I voiced my concerns/frustrations together with the proprietor on the telephone and he gave me a”reduction of $150″ off the new complete for my annoyance? My load has been scheduled for shipping June 6th. Be VERY careful and read the FINE PRINT! This company says they have 30 business days from the initial date of delivery that you give them for you your belongings. They said my possessions would arrive June 6th they did not arrive for over 2 weeks later on June 21st within an 18 wheeler of another business. Each time that I contacted the firm I wasn’t given an ETA date or time. For two months I had been told my items were to a truck at Georgia and that once the driver was completed with neighborhood drop off and pick ups he’d get a path out to the west shore. One of the motorist came to my house, he said he had to await his aid to get there. An hour after, a school age child came. I’m positive this was a’buddy’ of those drivers who helped him beneath the desk and also overheard the young guy ask the motorist when he would have more work for him soon. They unloaded my possessions that thankfully I’d packaged very well. The couple furniture items which were wrapped, packed, or disassembled by Northstar Movers upon pickup were ruined. Most importantly, a couple of metal bar stools I possessed along with a sizable black 5 drawer dresser that has been totally trashed.I am now in the midst of submitting a claim and will be lucky if I purchase $60 or less because of my own damaged items. Moral of this story: be sure that you read the fine print, so be sure each arrangement is in writing, buy extra insurance, and NEVER employ a smaller’family owned’ firm like Northstar Movers. They have zero client support, are money-hungry, and shady shady shady!

    Beware

If I could give it no stars I would. I haven’t in all my 62 years on this ground dealt with such an incompetent customer support department. They had been fantastic to get your small business, but if a problem happened, it was a different story. I spoke with all these people over the span of a month to attempt and find out whether they can find my mothers boxes, and much to my dismay, I give up. I talked with Ben, Isaac, yet another woman, I dont remember her name, who wouldn’t give me the managers title or number, and eventually Lisa. Lisa made me believe that she was likely to assist me. She said that the owner David was planning to be certain that they looked after the lost boxes, and that he’d telephone me personally. Well naturally, David never known, and also the last time I talked with Lisa, about how stunned I was at how badly they’ve managed my situation, she did not say anything, simply forwarded my phone to Isaac, that never answers the telephone. I have a mother that’s 87, and yells over her possessions that are missed. Shame on them. I’ll be placing this review on each site I will, not just to get my frustration out, but to hopefully avoid another men disappointment.

    They deserve ZERO stars

This business is unethical and borderline criminal. I had a horrible experience from begin to finish. Mark made promises which weren’t met. He promised me that the cost wouldn’t increase appreciably, but nonetheless, it nearly climbed on moving day since my projected moving checklist wasn’t 100% true. I moved with Northstar since they ensured me that the cross-country movement could be finished at 10-14 days. They composed 21 times at fine print on the deal – which they did not reveal me before moving day, as it had been too late to modify. It really took 31 days from pickup to delivery. I lived out of a bag and slept in an air mattress the entire moment. As soon as I called for upgrades, I had been left to hold for long intervals and could not get a direct answer. They repackaged a few of my things along with saran wrapped a lot of bigger boxes without even asking. They then tacked to a charge for packaging and billed me to the equipment. As it was time for shipping (31 days after ), they promised they could not obtain their truck on my road – at an typical residential area – and – charged a different fee. When they had been overdue, I called customer support and was advised that somebody will call me back to talk about a partial refund before the delivery. Didn’t occur. I have called back a few times since and continue getting the runaround. I have been told 3 distinct occasions that the supervisor will call me back. Have a guess if that ever happened. This is actually the worst customer support I have ever experienced. I can not think of the next purchase I’ve ever staged. It could have been more economical for me to burn off all of my possessions in VA and invest my cash replacing everything once I came in CA.

    Horrible experience

Our movers came three days late- and there was not any communication on this apart from once we always called to attempt and learn what was occurring. We had been given 2 different entrance dates and neither of these were really as soon as the truck came. The truck finally showed up 3 times after we initially were advised, causing us to need to restructure our move itinerary.

We tried contacting the agent who obtained our order setup and that he never returned our calls, which makes us essentially feel as though all he cared about was getting our money and that is that.

Upon the truck coming, we were advised we owed about 700$ greater than first quoted. We clearly had no option except to pay notably being already behind on our passing.

While we were already en route driving across state, we received a call telling us we were being charged even more cash and that it was due as soon as the things came. Again, no choice to do anything regarding how we already were from this nation.

Our items revealed three months later, a few matters minoring ruined, and we ended up being charged about $2,000 bucks more than what our original arrangement said.

Between the dreadful customer support, the dreadful pickup and delivery process, and then being billed an insane quantity of money beyond what had been said on our initial arrangement, all in all the whole experience was dreadful.

Do not ever use North Star Movers

I don’t write reviews but this time I must. This firm made my move a nightmare. They’ve me a fantastic quote and also the afternoon of the move they’ve doubled it. They’ve promised me that they’ll use their own trucks but it was they do not have some big trucks and they outsource to firms without control over their schedules. My shipping was 10 days late. Their packaging is quite average and they do not mark correctly the boxes. It ended up being a nightmare to determine what needs to go where throughout the unloading. ISAAC and Michael aren’t honest. You’ll see their very best face when they attempt to seek out you their services. As soon as you pay a part of this project and load the dirt it Ute they cease answering tour telephone calls. This really is the worst going experience.

    Avoid This Mover..at all cost

I’d heed the help of a number of different testimonials, just I wish I needed.
I’ve moved 6 days and this encounter couldn’t have been any worse.
It began with a quote walk round on the telephone to give specifics of my loved ones. After Lisa phoned back several times to”conquer” another quotation, I was awarded the quotation at $9,400 which appeared reasonable as I’d proceed 18 months before for $10,200 and I had been leaving behind several things such as a pool table, sofa, love-seat, amusement centre and a comprehensive bedroom suite and other smaller products. So essentially a similar quotation to get a current movement.
The problems started on the anticipated day of pack/move from birth, the Agency was expected from the AM but showed up at 7.00PM with just one other individual along with a box truck . the anticipated 53″ truck. The motorist did a fast walk round and said the quoted quantity was far off since I would fill up two container trucks. The sum was now an extra $7,500 or $16,900. Because I have sold the home and they’d hold my possessions for two months I had no option but to concede and write a second test.
They remained until the vehicle was complete which was approximately 11pm. They’d go back the following day, they came mid-afternoon and remained until 1.00am. The driver pointed to the paperwork that the cost didn’t include a hint. A suggestion. Well I still gave them one anyway.

Upon choosing a final date on my new house we ordered 3 months ahead of our move according to NorthStar. Our transfer date was scheduled for May 30th because we were closing on the 29th. A few days before they phoned and said that the driver was accessible on 28th and would he come, we said we couldn’t get ownership of the home before the day on the 29th, they said the motorist would need to take a different job. We called about the 30th mid-century to find out the motorist might not be accessible before the 1st of June. So all of our possessions are on the vehicle and we’d taken the time off to proceed. Following the driver did not appear on the dawn of their very first, I called and they said his truck had broken down and could appear in the day. No show/no telephone again that day, following my follow up he’d be there Sunday afternoon 6/2.
The driver showed up Sunday AM by himself after which neighborhood temp movers began coming to help. The motorist stopped at the driveway and said he couldn’t get in my driveway along with his own truck. He said I would have to lease a box truck and also would have to pay another amount to transfer the merchandise that the additional 100 yards from the path to the home. He said it must be $3,400 extra but might pay for $2,400 if I leased the box truck (also apply my own pickup truck to accelerate the procedure ). On a Sunday morning I had to locate a box truck leasing and go draw $2,400 money (so that he could cover the temps). Once more I had no option except to take this extra charge.
He taught that the temp movers to place ALL the possessions in the garage and remove all of the shifting blankets so he can pack up and depart, while departing the temps to complete the task!
The temps detected several damaged things and pointed them out into the motorist, he started to dispute this together, for example a greatly mildewed leather seat that had such a powerful odor we couldn’t put from the home. After the truck was unloaded we had a garage and drive filled with furniture that he requested me to sign the paperwork and given me money to cover the temps for two hours to remain and complete the job. The temps were all doing a wonderful job but said they had been berated by the motorist and felt angry how he talked to them and embarrassed over the problem that happened with how the entire day unfolded.
So after all of this my $9,400 quotation became $19,313 that I completely compensated, over double my quotation.
To add insult to injury w/o that the insurance that the damage claim compensation sum is $229 for a harm leather bag, Dining Room Hutch/Stand and dining table among other little products.

    MOVERS BEWARE

Alliance movers supplied moving services from Hershey PA into Providence, RI. The packaging was dreadful and the movers broke several meals, a 750 desk, functionally destroyed a Concept 2 rower, also gave false hopes of a an accurate fall off date.

The movers falsely estimated that the”distance transferred” rule. He projected over 300 ft (first 75 ft is free) and I walked the space myself with the two”ft” (one stride length) along with also my Apple Watch, that came out to 145 ft.

I called him out on it and that he basically multiplied his measure count by 2.5. He made no efforts to assert and quickly decreased it.

Where I have problems is that he didn’t give me an upgraded receipt that I want to document with my company. I’ve contacted Gerard Polite 4x and on several occasions I didn’t get single call back for 5 times.

I got an erroneous invoice, noting that the previous 40 percent had been paid CASH, and yet they forged a statement saying that it had been compensated by money order. This is essential because today, I want to submit an application to my company and I do not have a money purchase receipt BECAUSE I DID NOT OAY BY MONEY OFDER.

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. They’ll RUIN YOUR ITEMS AND ARE CARELESS, AND THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS.

    Buyer beware

I also wish I’d have heeded the advice of the other testimonials. This firm was definitely the least expensive quote; they compute by cubic feet, not by weight. Be cautious – unless you’re totally packed up and understand how to quantify in cubic feet, you’re likely to grossly underestimate the own cost. Our true price was $1800 over the quote. This isn’t a professional firm, the truck hadn’t any signand broke down somewhere in NC about a week after pickup. We then needed to make different arrangements bc of this delay, (we had been staying with family and awaiting close on a home ), and if we could not accommodate the new shipping date, they had been extremely confrontational and rude. Movers from a different firm made the shipping and our possessions had clearly been transferred from truck to truck. Many broken things, dishes, scratched dressers, they ripped off a corner of the sofa, and I still can’t find a bin with all my Christmas decorations. Additionally, the new firm who delivered our things made the shipping at 8:00 pm, and we had been attempting to inspect our possessions for any harm, in the dark. That was almost impossible. We did not save a dime and should have only gone with a respectable firm that goes by weight. DON’T utilize this organization. Run away.
