I have to preface this review by recognizing in complete that September 1st is the most popular day of this entire year in Boston for everybody: individuals going, the movers, and the most innocent bystanders, etc.. Having moved two or three times with this dreadful day, this was not my first rodeo… therefore that I do not have unrealistic expectations regarding going from Boston.
Anyhow. My adventure with New England Movers has been at least pleasant right up before my moving date. My shifting rep Ken always got me back and reacted to my demands, and he had been the sole moving company representative that did not appear perplexed or confounded by the fact I needed to go out on 8/31 but could not go in my new place before 9/1. He supplied me with two different quotes for every move date, and then I moved in my movement thinking things would most likely be fine.
About 8/30, the afternoon prior to my transfer out date (8/31), I received a call from Ken telling me to anticipate movers around 8/31 between 12PM and 2PM. In addition, he stated that movers could transfer my stuff to my new flat on the afternoon of 9/1. Since I couldn’t go in my new flat before after 12 PM on 9/1 (that I’d said to Ken at a prior telephone conversation), I soon called him back and also emailed him which the dawn of 9/1 would not do the job. He said he would return to me.
On the night of 8/30, I packed up everything and remained in a friend’s place that night with plans to return to my flat the next morning about 11:30 AM. About 8/31 about 10:15AM I have a call in New England Movers that they had been in the front of my flat. I was clearly surprised and informed them I had a voicemail from Ken which gave me a deadline of 12PM-2PM, where the movers gave no reply. They said they intended to wait around for me personally, so I hurriedly gathered my things and hurried over to my flat. On the trip over, I re-listened into Ken’s message (that I still have) and it certainly said that movers are at my location between 12-2.
After I got in my location, the movers got my own things from there fairly effectively. Before they left, I chose to reiterate and affirm I couldn’t go in my new flat before after 12PM on 9/1. They said that was nice. After that day of 8/31, I phoned the New England Movers office to be certain movers weren’t likely to bring my things into my new location before 12PM around 9/1. I confirmed this together.
On the afternoon of 9/1, I talked with Ken, my client rep, who informed me that they had put the movement in for involving 1-2PM. He anticipated 2PM in the latest. I got into my new flat in 12:30 PM to prepare. While waiting there, I got a brand new time quote from Ken of all”from 3PM.” The delay, Ken explained , was because others had whined about how much material they had and therefore movers were needing to spend additional time transferring on the liars’ stuff. It was plausible and clearly inevitable, therefore I said I knew, which I frankly did and still do.
But after a second 1.5 hours of no news, I phoned Ken about 4PM and that he gave the identical excuse, that folks had whined in hopes of becoming better bargains but that really it had just set back everyone. I again said I know that this can cause some flaws; in this stage Ken asked me whether they can postpone delivery of my belongings until the following evening of 9/2. He said they’d do so for a discount. I said no, I needed my things delivered on 9/1 since they’d promised because I needed to start my new job at the afternoon of 9/2 and had my things sent that night since I did not need to manage it in my very first day of job. Therefore, after confirming and calling with the Agency, Ken said that movers are in my new location in 90 minutes (approximately 6:15PM).
Nevertheless 6:15 arrived and passed. From 7:15, my darling movers hadn’t arrived, so I called the company to learn what was happening. I eventually attained Ronen, who, if he supposed to be or not, was really impolite in responding to some questions regarding the movers’ standing. He bluntly whined that other folks had whined about how much material they had and that the movers could be at least another hour someplace else until they could even attempt to get into my location which was all he would tell me. He acted really annoyed about the telephone once I asked for more particular info, once I asked for more details he only reiterated that they could be at least be an additional hour in the present spot and that he’d call with upgraded.
Yet two hours passed, and I noticed nothing, no upgrades, no more anything, from New England Movers. About 9PM, I’d spent about 8 hours waiting in or dangling out my brand new flat for the movers to arrive”soon.” At that stage, I needed to throw in the towel; I needed to get to sleep since I’d work the following day. I recognized defeat, but additionally, I recognized that I had at least make a reduction to them providing my things at a subsequent date. This was founded on 1) Ken’s previous dialog stating 9/2 delivery could be in a lower speed and 2) the fact that those movers had really inconvenienced me using their flaws. Therefore, I phoned Ronen and informed me that enough was enough and I wouldn’t wait no more for movers in my new location. I again mentioned that I’d work the following morning and needed to get into bed. Ronen said”Anything you desire. What time do you really need us tomorrow?”
I stated 7pm since I must work and then take the T home along with the Green Line is dreadful. He stated something like”fine 7 to the dot.” I answered,”The way to involving 7-8?” (understanding the movers tend not to be around time). Once I insisted that he better be there over the years, and that he repeatedly confirmed, I sensed a tiny bit better.
So after my very first day of job I return into my new location around 6:30 PM and ready to wait till 8 as promised. I received a call about 7:15 stating movers have been 15-20 minutes away, depending upon traffic. They came over an hour after about 8:25, which frankly was not the end of earth, but I really wish they had cautioned me and/or seemed at all conscious of just how delayed my transfer was.
After the movers got in my location, it took approximately two hours to move all in. But about halfway to the transfer, I asked them to please assemble my bed in my own bedroom corner so that it would clear up room for the additional bedroom furniture. Once I left this petition, among these movers (a man who’d moved me from my previous flat around 8/31) repeatedly insisted that he had given me that the screws into my own bed. I advised him that no, he hadn’t. On 8/31 he’d asked me to get a plastic bag to get the mattress screws, which he gave him, but he hadn’t given back the bag to me. I advised him that the one thing a plumber that afternoon had handed me was a light bulb. He wasn’t convinced. So I dug through all of my packed bags which were already in my flat, and discovered nothing. He still insisted that he’d given them to me. So I then awakened all of my things again.
In a act of despair, I discovered that the drawer of my nightstand was taped closed by the movers using THEIR ($$$) packaging tape, so I grabbed a scissors and cut the tape. Would not you know, interior were the screws that he KNEW he’d given me!!! One of my favorite achievements is I didn’t throw this bag of screws from his face. Rather, I slid to the kitchen and glared in my new sink rather. Eventually it was over and the impolite wrong man caused his charge clipboard and that I got out my credit card hoping to eventually get a glimpse of how terrible that this movement was as well as a substantial discount. Not merely was there NOT a apology or minor acknowledgement of annoyance, however there was not any reduction (because I had been told I would get by Ronen and Ken). I was clearly shocked and angry with this, however, since the movers weren’t the friendliest, knowing lot, I decided that I would take this up using Ronen along with Ken, my main contacts. So I contacted them several times by telephone and email address with my complaints, problems, and expectations of reduction. After many emails and calls, I still have received no answer from them.
Therefore, in conclusion this dreadful inspection, ” I say, no really I INSIST: AVOID NEW ENGLAND MOVERS AT ALL COSTS! YOU THINK MOVING IN BOSTON ON SEPTEMBER 1ST IS BAD?!!! WELL GUESS WHAT — IT GETS WORSE WITH NEW ENGLAND MOVERS!!!!
P.S. I beg landlords and flat handling businesses to please begin coming up with distinct leasing spans… so that people will not need to be this distressed about moving businesses. Please. Thank you. Cheers.
I hired another organization but they contracted New England Movers to perform the shipping of our possessions. They guys who arrived were great! They were fast, pleasant, and quite beneficial! They put all where I requested them to and where ready to move beyond the call of duty! If moving again I would call New England Movers instead of the firm I hired!
WAY TO EASY!!!! I predicted. They gave the quote. They showed up in time. Packed my things! Motivated me when I was losing steam. When it was over the invoice had been WAY lower than I’d expected. Thank you guys so much! You men listened to exactly what I had done….and motivated me once I began to slack. This is a complex movement made simple. And yes, the men that appear are easy on the eyes! New England Movers is Suggested.
Transferring from MA was a surprising choice. I had no opportunity to discover a moving company to my relocation requirements. One of my buddies told me around New England Movers and that I called instantly, spoke with his or her rep, acquired a terrific deal and caught without wasting a moment. Their moving group came the following morning, filled and packed all of my possessions and began for IN. They reached over the specified time and surprisingly nothing was dented or broken!!! These men have done a superb job within this brief notice. I can not thank you enough.
I reserved New England Movers a month to transfer a significant number of things that included antique furniture and boxed china and glass to be sent to my new place at PA.. They came on time and were both efficient and helpful both in loading and packaging attentively into the truck. We’d no whined about any matter. The moving crews were courteous, friendly and thoroughly professional. Their cost was quite competitive one of the other firms quoted for the transfer. I would advise New England Movers to anyone searching for a worry free time in their big moment.
