First my items had been picked up May 9th by two men who I’m not even sure how they loaded my things (but at the end I find it actually does not matter) I was physically fit enough the other not so far. I didn’t have as much material as I initially had said I’d but nevertheless they charged me $100.00 to load a flat screen TV. ( I opted to not load a desk or a poker table) however, the TV was additional?? (and is currently broken)
Next lets fast forward two weeks. I call and receive the entire run around on a Saturday where somebody answered the telephone yawning and stated the office has been closed until Monday. . (WHY DID THEY ANSWER THE PHONE)
Tuesday I call to follow up in my items. . I talked with an Ashley, that had been so rude I touch my tongue many times. When I asked about my things on 5-22 I had been told I had to keep in mind I did not even need my items until after the 15th, that I had to let her go so she can get her guys working and receive my things loaded? , Not a fair response of where or if my items were or when they’d be here. I seriously believe she’s the rudest person I’ve ever encounter. .
Monday May 28th a gentleman calls and leaves me a voice mail my items would be here Tuesday between 8-10 am. . They came around noon. .
Thus much is brokenup. . The boxes seem like they played kickball together. . Oil was leaking from a single box and he jumped to bring it in to my garage. . I pulled back the box out. . The dishes are in bits, wooden boxes inside of boxes have been broken. . My small stand was in pieces..My Flat Screen is destroyed, I am so outraged. . These were my dads things I was maintaining as he’s passed on. .
I won’t ever recommend this firm to anybody…
I’d be appalled when I had been working for a company with such small discount to individuals things.
I’d give this business zero stars if I could. I initially contracted through Charter and know they’re a middleman for moving businesses, but exactly what they promised and what followed by Midwest Carpets are unethical and exceptionally bad business practices.
In Charter”Mac” their salesman was super fine, explained how they functioned, and signaled a 2-9 day delivery from Michigan to Florida”since we’re found there and push there several times each week”. In addition, he ensured only the movers could touch my things at the same end, and also the exact same firm would unload in the opposite end and it might not be in storage or handled by others”since they move this path each day”. After contracting together, Mac could not be attained again. This is most likely a pseudonym for every one of their telephone contractors.
And that’s where good and nice ceased. An extremely rude phone contact has been created by Midwest Movers who could not guarantee that the pickup time. (they finally did arrive on time) that was great because I needed to be from my place with a particular moment. STRESS.
Midwest Movers have experienced their BBB membership revoked (I later discovered ). They proceed by four or five distinct names so that they are difficult to discover reviews for internet.
The men that picked up my items were super fine I must admit. They did their job fast and economically.
Then the nightmare started. To begin with, they upped the fee by more than a million dollars and my gross weight and quantity was LESS than that which had initially been quoted. 1 gas requested another”what would you believe?” Along with another man said”Okay I consider 720″ that was WRONG because I’d quantified everything at it was 500.
Subsequently it SAT IN STORAGE someplace in limbo for 78 DAYS — yup you read that correct. Contacting Midwest Movers was fulfilled by one explanation after another, and at one stage they asked”what month in which you picked up”. What MONTH???? The girl in shipment refused to link me to a manager when requested, and gave me zero quote or hint of if my move would happen, even when I registered A BBB criticism — and found out their membership was revoked.
Charter and Midwest Movers clearly had not communicated well since then there was a struggle over how much that I had been owed back for such a delay — 30 bucks per Day based on Charter in written format and in reaction to this BBB filing I left on both these firms. Midwest Movers paid 30 bucks per Business Day and created unethical references to vacations and other matters and contended with me — NOT AT ALL what Charter had signaled to the Better Business Bureau. I’ve of course promised compensation from and will certainly have a run around that’ll call for legal actions.
The men who delivered were obviously super fine. Everything was in good shape. A couple of bankers boxes have been broken but that is to be expected using things changing hands and places across and over and over. Nonetheless, the guys themselves were wonderful.
The issue here isn’t the movers workers — its the actual business, their impolite telephone customer service abilities, their refusal to let me speak to managers, their refusal to react to BBB open situation inquiries rather than a SINGLE apology out of anybody there.
Never use this company. Seriously. The worst company I’ve ever worked with in my half dozen movements, and in 40 decades of handling service business companies on the job and personally. I have never managed a worse business from top to base.
I initially booked this with Charter Van Lines, who seemingly subbed this movement out to Midwest Movers. I had been going from Michigan to North Carolina.
My expertise was nearly just like that of Gretchen, whose inspection also looks here. The movers came at 6pm at a rental truck the night before they were scheduled to arrive. They gave me a contract to sign and requested me to”rush’ so that they could begin. Finally, if they gouged me an additional $560, subsequently asked for a 15 percent tip.
As soon as I got to my new condo, I had been advised that any date which has been promised is only an estimate, in accordance with the fine print in my contract. The identical contract they advised me to rush and signal.
My possessions came two or more months late. As soon as I asked a question, the driver advised me that he would quit without completing my delivery since he already had my money. When I told him I could not understand his accent, he said”yeah, but everyone knows it when I speak about money.”
As in Gretchen’s inspection, I spoke to a person named Ashley. She had been the rudest customer”support” individual who was committed upon me. She refused to let me speak with a supervisor or provide me a telephone number I can call.
It was Ashley who basically told me”the fact is not actually the fact” as it comes to quotes from Charter Van Lines or even Midwest Movers.
Anyhow, for flat or condominium sized motions, use a real moving company, utilize Two Guys and a Truck, or do it all yourself. Whatever you do, stay far from Charter Van Lines and Midwest Movers. They’re the nicest people on the planet when they’re giving you quotes. However, as soon as they receive your money, they’d rather have a root canal than speak to you.
Its worst and most pitiful support. . They provide you best bargain but no grantee of your things, my couple boxes are lost and many of furniture have been broken… Along with their claim method is poor, its nearly two years for support but still fighting with assert… Please look out for several other insurances and packers. . #Midwest movers are pitiful
