    Long-distance move from Pennsylvania
    Satisfied Customer

I contracted Merit van lines last December to transfer my loved ones and I from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Our new house was not totally rennovated, therefore after Merit picked up our products, we’d them shop our possessions in their own storage device for a month or two. The movers were good at the pickup. They carefully packed up our fragiles and managed our furniture with care. I contacted Meme the supervisor in March about preparing the delivery of the stuff. She was really friendly and careful. We obtained our possessions three times after phoning for delivery that made us quite delighted. After the delivery truck came, the driver was really pleasant and did a terrific job setting up our furniture and reassembling everything. My kids were quite pleased to have back their toys along with my spouse and I had been really pleased to find that we’d no obligations or broken products. I hope that I do not need to proceed, but when I must I can utilize Merit van lines.

    Long-distance move from New York
    Never use this company

First off, here is actually the WORST COMPANY on earth. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT use this organization. Save yourself a significant annoyance. We had been going a studio flat in NY to DC. The only positive experience I had was with Alex and his staff (who filled up our location immediately ). Absolutely everybody else that I dealt with in the business was awful. The scheduling was so dreadful, they were not able to provide us any notion of when they would have the ability to send all of our things. They told us, Monday or Tuesday, and after 3 times prior to the weekend, then Allen told us together with”reasonable certainty” that they might assure a Saturday or even Sunday move. We phoned Thursday and Friday to observe if they’d have the ability to move down our stuff. No response. They”still were not convinced” although they initially told us they might inform us in 24 hours of their move. Saturday rolls around, nevertheless”no hint” Sunday rolls around and they inform us that they can not send it before Sunday at midnight or even Monday morning. When they initially told us a Saturday or even Sunday proceed, we anticipated anytime through these DAYS maybe not midnight of the final moment. We already had matters scheduled. Neither of us managed to be there, and then they said the upcoming possible day are the subsequent week. We wanted to ensure we got out things as fast as possible, therefore we needed to loop at a household member to be there Monday afternoon between the hours of 8 and 9. Amit and his staff wrapped in at 930. Already overdue. THEN, he had the audacity to playground at the front of THE BUILDING, however wait for this, since the two individuals who had been searching for him needed to walk into the side doorway, NOT amit himself (who stood idly by the truck the whole time and did not lift a finger), he billed $250 additional since it was not parked in the front of the side door. Well hello friend, if you are double left anyhow facing the construction, then you may double park in the front of the side entry without having an additional five feet to walk. Okay but even before he let his minions to unload the vehicle, he absolutely refused to squirt anything from their vehicle, UNTIL HE HAD CASH IN HIS HAND. He refused to have good care of any sort and just allowed money or money orders. Clearly he was doing dishonest company and wished to pocket all of this cash. Including the absurd $250 additional”long walk” (such as an additional five ft ) charge. Our family member needed to run into 3 unique ATMs to withdraw money. The two minions who worked for him were even scared of him. (he does not discuss any hint together with them). What we were initially borrowed of $800 was be $2500 using a whole lot of hidden and additional fees. I’d NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN NOR WOULD I WISH that ANYONE undergo the Exact Same headache along with the horrible experience we needed to encounter. OH I FORGOT THE BEST PART. They dismantled several parts of furniture: TV stand and sofa and initially told us what could be set back together. Can it be? Certainly Not. They abandon it in our flat with bits missing! They stated that they”tried and failed” BUT EVERYTHING WAS STILL WRAPPED UP THE WAY IT WAS ORIGINALLY WRAPPED SO did they even try? NO BUT THEY DID MANAGE TO Drop THE PIECES! I needed to visit the hardware shop and from trial and error find the perfect bits to place our TV stand back together in addition to our sofa legs. again, WORST COMPANY EVER. When it does not convince you that you should not use this business, well then satisfied moving.

Honestuy and Length of time to move

Merit Van Lines is a joke!
They fill your mind with guarantees that they never mean to maintain!
Read the contract before you signup, they explained that they’d have my items for me personally by April sixth and it is currently the fourteenth and that I had been told now that they expected to get ahead by Wednesday or Thursday of NEXT week!?
As soon as I attempted to talk to somebody at a decision making situation I had been told that she had been it and that there was no one else to visit?
The contract says that they have until now and it is not here so tomorrow I must meet with a lawyer and find out what choices I’ve got, I had been counting in my items to find cash to spend on meals, they actually must return to college and find out how to conduct a firm.
My items have not came yet.

    Worst moving experience ever had.

I would not presume my worst enemy to them. The last cost was twice the quote. Although it had been the proprietor with 30 decades of experience that arrived and gave the quote.
Each and every bit of my furniture had been badly damaged and once I requested to place a claim into their own insurance that they allegedly have, hi refused to create a claim stating that they have a higher deductible and they wouldn’t squander it on me!
I had been educated by the proprietor, earl, which when I did not enjoy it then I can sue him. Good man! What a way to conduct a company!
As I said, don’t use them, ever! They’re careless and proprietor quite awful, unprofessional, and totally void of morals.

Price changes chrges for insurance that i never got

I hired Merit Van Lines to move my possessions out of Pa. into Fl. They never came to find out what I’d. The $$ altered over & over. I bought extra insurance. Never got the backup of coverage ,(required by legislation ), subsequently was known to Paf insurance that also billed me the exact same freight insurance. I never obtained a coverage in hand from these either. They had been so rude, impatient, also dismissive. Thay all gave contact information that has been disconnected or facsimile ph. lines. Both refuse to repay money, and it will be nearly $900.00. I don’t have any move today & they both charged my credit card. PAF insurance even posted my credit card # on the world wide web!

    Hidden Costs and Insurance Scams

Transferring with Merit was a HORRIBLE experience. We had been going from New York to Los Angeles. We got estimates from Merit and out of Flat Rate and proceeded with Merit since it was more economical. Well, you get what you pay for. Alan was the rep on the movement and was all nice and adapting before I signed something and also the procedure really began. On the afternoon of the transfer, his office hadn’t faxed the insurance policy information to our construction so that we had to wait for nearly an hour to begin. Since trucks at New York can quickly get tickets once parked on the road, we had been assured that the staff could be four employees and one additional person to keep in the truck, and when they came it was only four individuals, so we had been down a man causing the movement to conduct VERY long. I’ll say, the group of movers in New York was fantastic. We really liked them, but this has been the only positive thing of the entire experience. Obviously, the estimate we had been awarded based on each of the stock in our flat was nowhere near the cost we had to cover the cubic footage our items occupied in the vehicle. It had been nearly double what we had been quoted. Then when our items came in Los Angeles, suddenly there were more hidden expenses. To begin with, the truck could not match in our driveway as it was so big, so Alan and Merit attempted to tack on more cash to transport all of our items into a bigger truck. The choice of having a more compact truck come for shipping was discussed with us however, nobody had EVER stated it had been more cash. We ended up receiving temporary parking permits from the city, but the whole thing was a massive headache. Just two movers came at our new location. The man who had been driving the truck along with another employee. The driver seemed not to understand another employee and was unbelievably rude and hateful to him throughout the whole unloading procedure. We’d flooring scratched and found that one big container filled with clothing was lost. The motorist confirmed that it had been lost however, stated he could just leave us our belongings when we signed the paperwork. He said he would otherwise need to carry it back, however, he promised us we could still file a claim with no situation. Alan did nothing to find our lost/stolen things once I asked them for help (of course now, they had our money). And the end result of us submitting an insurance claim? Since we signed the paperwork, then they will pay us NOTHING to this. The driver told us we needed to sign the paperwork to maintain our belongings upon delivery or they would take it back, but when we signed up, the insurance carrier was no longer legitimate. Massive SCAM! So, that container of clothing cost us another $1500 or so. The point is, moving together with these men was a massive mistake! Do not put yourself through it!

    Long-distance move from New Jersey
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!!

I made a massive error by doing business with Merit Van Lines. My representative is called Lola and my discussions with her were fine but she didn’t give me the proper info and that totally screwed me over. I advised her of the furniture that I had, I even completed a list list. I was initially quoted at $900 but due to a very heavy and costly vase which wasn’t wrapped up, she advised me that my quote would move out of $900-$915. I agreed to cover the additional $15 and prepare the transfer from a storage device in NJ into a apartment at FL. I also advised her that I adore about the third floor, even though the first floor is on the floor and there are just two flights of stairs. She assured me that it wouldn’t be a issue and didn’t mention another fee. I also advised her that I wouldn’t be present to the transfer, I’d have my aunt there.

The movers were a couple of minutes late picking up my items nevertheless, my aunt had been there together with my mother and they fulfilled with the movers in the device. After seeing just how much material I had, the motorist told me it could be another price. They promised I had over I’d put on the stock list. Recognizing that I’d have a couple of added items, I was subsequently charged an extra $300. I agreed to cover it, which was a mistake. I called frequently to test my items because I felt as though I had been given the run around. I knew that the movement would take a while but I wasn’t conscious that it would take more than fourteen days, which it did. I started to have all my discussions with the supervisor, Meme who had been fine initially but was not very diligent in return to me how I’d hoped and anticipated. The motorist called and said he’d be there on a Saturday but since the truck broke down, he didn’t get there till Monday morning. Lola understood that I reside in a gated neighborhood but if the motorist got there he immediately told me that the transplant couldn’t match. In addition, he asked what floor I live on and once I informed him he said he would need to charge me $75/7 steps. The motorist was rude, disrespectful, and quite uncontrollable. He explained that only for an additional $150 could he take my items to the very front of my building, that had me perplexed since he said he would when I paid him $150 more than I had been advised. He had four guys along with him to help motivate me in my flat, nevertheless they weren’t guys who labored for the business instead of four guys he hired from Craigslist. He, Ronny the motorist, said he would take my items to a storage device but wasn’t keen to go through the gate to fall off my items where he should possess. The storage area was shut and he to await them to start, he’d need to bill me $150. I told him no I wouldn’t and consequently he ended up losing off my things to the side of the street close to the interstate. I talked to Meme and advised her of this dreadful experience I had with his or her own driver. She and I really got in an argument because she didn’t believe me when I told her that I didn’t understand there was a extra charge to go up stairs. She stated it had been at the contract I wasn’t present to signal… I was never told this on the telephone before my stuff was already in FL. Meme explained the telephone conversations were recorded and she’d hear them and that I could hear them. When I requested for that liberty after on in the afternoon, I had been refused. I stopped having to lease a uHaul truck to select up my things from the side of the street. The guys from Craigslist promised me that they don’t have anything to do with what is happening and they’ll help move my items to the flat. They advised me that Ronny, shorted them out of a while he promised.

My Fiancé’ and I ended up paying the four guys $50 a piece for his or her aid. As soon as I informed Meme we did so she explained it had been our doing and the firm doesn’t have anything to do with just how much we paid the employees. She also told me that there were just two men, she inquired the driver. I then gave her the 2 from the four drivers telephone numbers that she would call to confirm what I had been telling her. She then called back after not bothering to telephone them and said she talked to the driver again and he then confessed to hiring 4 motorists. I said to her that everything I told her was right and she had nothing to say. She said she had to talk with her CO and she’d return to me. I discovered that the vase I paid additional cash for was broken up in bits, I have images. I phoned her back to notify her and needed to leave a message since she was allegedly in a meeting. Since she’d told me to not call, she’d call me and that I did anyhow, she got very upset which induced me to become very mad. My aunt also known as because she had a question I couldn’t reply. This is exactly the identical aunt that has been there on pickup. I have many items broken alongside my 2 end tables that the legs have been removed but not contributed to me. I paid $250 for the vase and $349 for the two big solid wood end tables. Another little vase was divided $75 plus a couple of dishes at $50. A good deal of my furniture was scratched and the glass in my coffee table is broken and value $200. I’ve got photos to show all of this.

When I talked to Meme she stated that her Co is ready to provide me a refund of $160 but ONLY when I send the firm an email saying that I’m happy with the services I’ve received in their firm. I refused to do so. I believe I was being bribed. Meme even attempted to talk me into accepting the bribe by asking me what I’d do in that situation and why I did not believe the deal I had been given was great enough. I’m submitting a claim for my damaged and broken items. Meme tried to inform me that my 51 year-old aunt and 50 year-old mother put my vase at a box and didn’t wrap it, which wasn’t correct. I get get sworn statements from both of these seeing that. My vase was thrown right into a massive box with items thrown inside of it. It wasn’t shielded and consequently it broke. I had a horrible experience with this organization and totally feel I was cared for. I paid the firm $1200 and mt material was dropped of on the face of the read. Meme explained that the motorist was”terminated” but that I do not feel that whatsoever. The motorist was projecting my items off the truck and I have witnesses to prove that. Even among those girls who here at work stated individuals move in with trucks which size all of the time and he might have match, he simply didn’t need to. He had been so rude and that I simply would never use nor recommend the business to anybody going.
