    Long-distance move from South Carolina
    Items were stolen by workers

We contracted with L:&J Moving and Storage For our transfer from PA to SC with different weeks of all our things involving their arrival in our new house. I don’t understand at which the damages occurred, but the vast majority of those boxed items were crushed. Additionally someplace between the 2 places an extension ladder just vanished. We also watched the team who unloaded in SC utilize a different ladder of ours, but they retained it if they left. We watched it at the vehicle, so we know that for sure. I reported this on the team chief as well as the firm, however, nothing has been done about it. Furniture that also wrapped in PA arrived unwrapped, scuffed & scraped in SC. Antique glassware has been crushed, but not in how we boxed it, but as a result of its own handling.along the manner. And, to top it all off, We all received a check for less than 400. For this all. But that just compensated for both stolen possessions, for that is exactly what they have been, stolen. We also”missing” a 2 feet in diameter clock. The individual who handled my claim had been uncaring and never in any way personable. All these were our items and nobody cared.
In the event you chooser to utilize North American and American L&J Moving, then beware. Your move won’t be quite and your things might also be discharged, such as ours.

    Long-distance move from Pennsylvania
    Horrible experience altogether

After exploring moving companies on the internet, I discovered a local firm affiliated with NorthAmerican and’d contacted them to care for my relocation. I guessed that because they were nearby, I can contact them when I had some problems and might be in a position to gain access to individuals if necessary. Initially, the girl I coped with (I think it was Linda) was quite rfriendly and enlightening. She answered all of my questions and put up an appointment to have someone come out to give me a quote. I went forward with using a representative in the organization come out to offer an estimate  (as I had been collecting over simply one for contrast ) and everything has been running smoothly. The rep that came out (John) was exceptionally knowledgeable and clarified the moving procedure to me completely. I felt really comfortable with him and accepted that the cost that he had supplied. I predicted into reserve my movement and had coped with Deb (a very rude girl who answered the telephone ). She’d treated me as a was a dumb child and has been quite disrespectful toward mepersonally, but steered my phone to a supervisor to prepare my movement. She moved me into a girl (Joset) that had been exceptionally helpful and helped me with getting everything setup for my transfer. She moved through all of the paperwork with me, took my advice and processed everything so. When the transfer was reserved and paid for, it looked like the firm needed nothing more to do with me personally. They wouldn’t return my calls and handled me as though I didn’t exist. I’d such a difficult time confirming times and dates – it had been rediculouse! I can do anything in this stage because everything has been already paid for. The packers came late and there was even a young kid (possibly about 12 years old) together with all the team packing my items. As soon as I complained about it, it was dismissed and had the child still just packing things in boxes. I attempted to phone the company to complain about that too, but obtained no answer! After what was packaged and loaded onto the truck, it was impossible for me to contact anybody in the enterprise to discover where all of my items were. Noone returned calls, my possessions arrived WAY LATER than that which I had been told (my loved ones and I had been compelled to sit on crates for times and had no beds, clothes or personal items)!! All of the time, nevertheless no return calls by the corporation. After birth of my things (FINALLY), so lots of things were missing and damaged that it wasn’t funny. I needed to always call the firm (Sheryl) who eventually steered my promise to northamerican. After spending all of the cash on the further insurance, I came back to find out which I wouldn’t be rewarded for compensation. I also had a dreadful time getting a grip of this company for compensation of currencies I had been owed (as I prepaid to get its transfer and was over charged by roughly $300 since they overestimated the burden that I had been told could occur ). I kept being told that I needed to talk to somebody called Cori that could deal with this situation. She NEVER returned any calls or messages (for approximately two weeks). I eventually spoke with the supervisor at the workplace (Stephanie) who had been really rude and might care less about my situation and informed me I only had to wait patiently to get payment that I was guaranteed for WEEKS!! You’d have believed that giving me back $300 later I’d paid only roughly $11,000 wouldn’t have been a problem? I’ll NEVER do business with this firm again, nor will I EVER urge them to anybody else. It feels like they’ve friendly, helpful men and women help you at the start and after that once you cover your relocation, you mean nothing for them because they already have your company at the point. This really has been the WORST experience I have ever had with a moving company (and I had transferred several times before ). There is absolutely not any way to get anybody except the apologetic front desk folks (Heather and Linda) who always have to plead to the inactions of the others.  If you’re thinking about working with this firm to proceed – that I BEG YOU TO THINK AGAIN AND RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!!   You’ve been warned!

    Disappointing service and response

I recently hired L&J Storage and Moving to Take Care of my transfer out of Pennsylvania into Utah. While their quote was greater than other movers, so I felt convinced in their own process, they verbally indicated they didn’t outsource function, and many reviews were favorable. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. My possessions weren’t guarded inside the car and they literally drifted across the nation. The business that unloaded the car in Utah was amazed and suggested that the dispatch and contents hadn’t been secured whatsoever. See arrival photos. In addition, I have been communication with L&J Transferring because my move more than 4 months ago to go over the threatening behaviour and also to get a mutual settlement regarding their support charges. I can’t get anybody to have a dialogue. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this company to the move.

    Moving services

The business seemed quite responsive. They suggested that the home would be packed on a Thursday and we’d be transferred out on a Friday. The motorist brought 2 rather than 3 packers and an inadequate variety of cloth boxes. There were signs initially that matters wouldn’t go well. Among the packers dropped a timber plank rack, snapping one off caster. Another packer pulled down a storage container in the garage, leaving broken glass onto the garage floor. The packers spent as much time listening to the baseball game since functioning. The packaging wasn’t finished until Saturday. Upon arriving in Baltimore, the tractor-trailer rig was parked at Home Depot (not able to go into the driveway) and also the home objects were shuttled employing a 16 foot truck. Throughout the initial load, the expert motorist neglected to secure the tailgate of their truck leading to a classic piece of furniture bouncing out on the street and being seriously damaged. You will find many items broken – broken lamps, furniture scraped, appliances packaged with no security. Expensive clothes was jammed to boxes and seriously wrinkled consequently. The movers hired in Tennessee were appalled in the carelessness of their Baltimore packers. I sent letters and photographs to 2 North American Van Lines executives and obtained an answer from the helper of you to the result’we’re sorry for your inconvenience’. There was no acknowledgement of this fact that mended antiques are significantly diminished in value. I wouldn’t recommend this business – possibly the regional movers or the parent firm.

    Select At Risk

Moving from Philadelphia to Raleigh and believed I made a fantastic choice to choose a business which has offices in the places. They’re a representative of North American Van Lines. I was incorrect. The sales pitch didn’t fulfill my expertise – particularly in the region of customer support and follow up after the transfer. Don’t anticipate any communication nor follow up. Most everything I had been told at first didn’t occur, from the wrap of furniture into the mistake from selection to the so-called completely insured with no deductible. You may wait weeks for support and it’ll take several calls. It might have been really simple to make the customer happy with a little bit of communication and compassion.

    Late and never completed move

I’ve moved 14 times in my life thus shifting isn’t a brand new experience for me personally. I’ve utilized a number of moving companies through the years however I’ll need to mention that l&j shifting of temple, pa is absolutely the worst, many hellish movement, or nearly move.A guy named will came for its quote, grossly underestimated everything that I had. I phoned him back a few times and kept insisting that they include a large enough truck and clarified exactly what it took the last time I moved( I’ve a 4,700 sq feet home ). He kept reassuring me what will be OK. Two weeks prior to the move I got a call in the office informing me that the movers will be in my house at 8:00 am, I confirmed that a couple of days ahead of the transfer. On Friday afternoon, the movers never showed up, this was Monday. At 9:00 am I called the company, they then said they never guaranteed that they are there at 8 and that they had been in visitors. They eventually showed up after 10 am, with a single little truck, the four men walked in and immediately began complaining that they could not perform the job, that they did not have plenty of time, maybe not a large enough truck etc etc.. I informed them I’d told will this replicated and requested them to get on the telephone and receive more aid and yet another truck. They burst in my driveway for more than one hour and then got in their truck and drove away.Let me state again this was Monday morning and reimbursement to the home was married morning.I had to get another firm that would transfer me as a crisis and shows up Tuesday morning. ! I was lucky I managed to do this but what a great deal of anxiety this put us all under. We needed to wash this massive home since they were moving things from every room, rather than having the entire day to wash as planned.Do not each usage L&J, a nightmare that they shouldn’t even be in business anymore as well as their rep is going to be fired. They are blessed I’m not using them.

    Beware!

I don’t recommend this organization or North American Van Lines for whom they’re a broker. Completely unprofessional. They simply threw my cartons from the truck one on top of another crushing them. I had a marble top professionally packaged and they unloaded it and put it upside down. Many delicate things were damaged upon receipt. My King size mattress wasn’t put in a carton, they simply shrink wrapped it that everybody knows is awful, and they put it in my storage device onto its hands, which any first year mover understands is a recipe for harm. Oh, yeah, they also denied my claim because I did not inspect every carton upon delivery. Who does this? North American Van Lines and L&J Transferring and hacks. Steer clear children.

    Horrendous Service

My experience with this moving business was (and still is because I am continuing to take care of problems ) horrific.  I have never dealt with a shadier business.   They first assured me that my things would arrive in my new destination on the afternoon which I desired.  So I went ahead and reserved the provider.  Once I already gave them my payment info, then they explained that my things would arrive a couple of days later than planned.  Following that, they gave me a two week time period of coming time and dragged their feet before the next to last day of the period to fall off all of my possessions.  So I was with my personal belongings (clothing, mattress, furniture, cooking utensils, etc.) for 2 weeks.  They never upgraded me with when they were planning to drop off my stuff.  I needed to phone continuously for updates.  Then when I did get in contact with them, they never had a response for me.  Eventually when they dropped off my possessions, the very first item from the truck was busted.  Following that, I discovered several things of mine which were hurt, broken or simply completely lost.  The movers were totally unprofessional, bringing different peoples things (since they jam-packed two families into a truck) in my flat and carrying at least 4 smoke breaks during this procedure.   They had no respect to some of my things.  So once I found all of my broken items (over $1500 worth of damage), then came the claims procedure.  The claims manager told me to shoot photos of the broken things and then send them to her and that this is sufficient for them to go from (therefore I pulled a number of the damaged things off ).  I did so and composed that which was broken or lost together with all the dollar amount that I paid for this.  She said that she’d get in touch with me once she reviewed each of the products.  When she eventually got back in contact with me within a month afterwards, she stated she was planning to ship a local business out to my flat to appraise the damage of these products.  This never occurred.  She then sent me a letter stating she’d give me $10 back for a single thing, disregarded additional things, and stated that because I did not have any items they could not pay me to get them.  After contending further with her, then she eventually had to reopen my claim and reassess my things, thus making this a continuing procedure. And of course that the whole time it was not possible to get ahold of them.  As soon as they found out that was calling, they never too my telephone or returned my phone call.  At one stage I called and stated my true name rather than got through to anybody and then I called again two minutes using a bogus name and got right through to that I had to speak to. This provider is hands-down the very unprofessional company I’ve ever encountered.

    Damaged my tv

First off, I needed to frighten them to get a Last bill.   I got a True run-around about the way LJMoiving needed to await NorthAmerican to perform something.   It took a few weeks.   Along with the movers ruined my 2000 55″ TV plus they still have not settled my guarantee.   They keep giving me exactly the run-around.   They want to understand why the TV wast recorded on the stock: the motorist didn’t finish the stock, along with the receipt revealed I was billed for a TV box.   They tell me that the driver did not recall my movement, such as that was a explanation that I was supposed to take.   They then ask me to ship a photo of this box.   Are you kidding me?   Plus I asked me why I did not report that the damage to the inspector if he unloaded: since I didnt understand it waas damaged till I hooked this up. . .and on and off and off…

    Long-distance move from New Jersey
    Moving experience

Our shifting experience with your business has become the worst experience we’ve had in moving homes in our lifetimes. We’ve done this quite a few occasions and moved greater distances (Orlando to NJ) than this involvement where we had been going from NJ to Mass.. I admit that there have been scheduling adjustments which were created from our side, but regardless, we still paid for the packaging and dispatch of our house with the anticipation that it’d arrive in our new house and could be safeguarded from harm or loss during that movement. Regrettably, this wasn’t the situation. The packaging of our possessions in NJ was unorganized and arbitrary. Things from many distinct floors and regions in the home were packaged together and mislabeled. Fragile and expensive heirloom china was packaged with different pieces piled together and then wrapped. This china was ruined. Screws and bolts for furniture that’s been disassembled were missing. Nearly every piece of furniture was broken to a degree. As the movers here in Massachusetts were moving furniture in our house, they even handed us bits of timber which had broken out of among those mattress places and said”Here you go. Gorilla glue ought to look after that.” You will find mysterious white stripes and scratches on virtually all bits of furniture which weren’t there as it was loaded out of the home in New Jersey. These can’t be readily removed without damaging the bits and we’re still hoping to think of the ideal cleaning solution. The play of moving homes is already enough to make a sane man mad. The psychological stress of this failure of your organization to provide our belongings to our new house efficiently and safely has compounded that play to the stage of tears and has made what should have a fascinating party of our new residence into a miserable daily discovery of just how bad our choice was to put our hope and our money with your organization. What add insult to injury, is the fact that we tilted out each of the people involved in this movement over $1,000 to get the ideal thing by them. And the only answer in the company when getting this review beforehand as a courtesy was to get the insurance people at North American send us an email addressed to”Dear Sir” with promises directions. Avoid this company if you don’t do not care about your possessions.

    Awful experience

In addition, I wish I could give two stars. Worst experience of my entire life. The communication was awful since it took me 5 calls to make them send me the proper type for my first inventory checklist. I then clarified I dwelt in town and parking could be a problem where they promised me”they’d look after it”. Movers showed up and were completely shocked I did not have parking spaces so that they blocked my whole street bothering a lot of my neighbours. The movers behaved as if I was inconveniencing them whenever they picked up on a box. It appeared to me that they moved out of the way to pile very heavy boxes at the top of all of the ones marked”brittle”, breaking a couple of products. Afterwards I registered a complaint since they ripped the whole back from my entertainment centre. My transfer coordinator explained that they forwarded the data along and I’d hear a few back in 24-48 hours. A week after I followed up and could not get a reply. I left many e-mails and voicemails whenever someone eventually got back to me and explained I needed to complete another form and have it notarized (never said to me once I initially complained). I did so and sent it in and again never discovered. I followed up several more times during the upcoming few months with little to no reponse if FINALLY, their”claims agent” Gyna Craigo, THE MOST MISERABLE, INCOMPETENT, RUDE, individual I have ever met said a check would be sent out. They’d just pay me .60 for each pound of damaged stuff. They NEVER clarified this to me initially. They broke a 650 entertainment centre and a classic typewriter in my grandma and they were just going to offer me 60. It was a complete joke. Yet, after I had been told the test could be sent out, two months later I still hadnt obtained anything and began emailing Gyna and departing her voicemails requesting her to please call or email back me to let me understand exactly what was happening. Within a month after, the test still hasn’t come. They’re a complete JOKE of a business and that I would NEVER expect them to get a transfer in the past!

    Horrible Experience

Consumers ought to alert others when they’ve experienced deceitful business practices, particularly when it entails the older. My parents contracted with J and L Transport in Clayton, NC. Since some land wasn’t packed after contract specifications, there was irrevocable harm. J and L Transport Claims Specialist stated out the pack staff failed to follow business protocal and employed the expression”blantant neglect” to refer to damage of the house. We’ve been to both Small Claims Court and District Court (judged ruled in our favor in both instances ). The business won’t pay the decision. Why? Though this business is conducting business in Clayton, NC, their firm assets are enrolled in the state of Pennsylvania in which their home office is situated. In spite of a conclusion against this business, the company is refusing to cover monies awarded since you can’t put a lien against land enrolled out of country. This Clayton, NC, transport company has not just taken advantage of older people but is using legal loopholes to make certain they don’t need to abide by judgements made at a court of lawenforcement. We did our homework assembly with different nationally moving company agents prior to making our choice to decide on L and J Transport. But we heard customers will need to ask extra questions concerning the holdings and enrollment of business vehicles and property prior to picking a company to transfer their property. What’s more, Relocation Specialist Melissa mispresents the way land is packaged and stored. Do not think anything this organization or their agents promise. Save yourself headache and frustration and pick another firm that follows through on their guarantees and contractual duties and does not prey on the elderly.

I would give them no Stars if that were possible!

Their first Quotation for the transfer was a great one however they mis -Estimated and required both another truck and also a 2nd Bill! The broke many things throughout the transfer including a few family heirlooms. We did purchase the further Insurance for policy but that didn’t appear to matter. We’d claims at $3,150 in broken or broken furniture and other products. After more than a YEAR of moving back and forth together we obtained a check for $125.00 from North American Van Lines. Do not even contemplate L& J!

    A Truly Terrible Move

When I first contacted North American, I had been known to their regional business in Pottstown PA.. The rep that came outside, Ryan Graver, was quite pleasant and went through each step with me. As it was my next move in as many decades, I felt confident in how this could go. He delivered me a good deal and I consented to utilize them for my services. Fast forward to my true move dates. The team of 4 individuals who showed up in my home to package was quite wonderful. We walked thru to talk what was being packaged, what was remaining, etc.. About 3 hours to the bunch I realized someone was missing. Turns out among those packers”felt sick” and has been sleeping on my sofa in the cellar! This individual slept on my sofa for another 7 HOURS. I can understand not feeling well, taking a break for just a little bit, but come on. A 7 hour rest??? In a customers home??? That set the tone for the whole week. Since that individual did not package the whole day, it place the entire return by a day, a three day move now turned into a 4 day proceed. They arrived the following day, three individuals, and finished packaging. They have been performed by 2pm. This day they returned, with a team of 5 individuals, to load. They stated they’d arrive at 8:30am. They did not get there till 11am. Since they were late, they worked the whole day and did not finish until nearly 10pm. As I needed to be away two states, with a toddler and baby in tow, I had to make them keep on loading without oversight. I checked in together and the lead man, the motorist, informed me he’d be in our destination in 8:30am the following day. They came at 9:30am. We walked throughout the home reviewing where everything goes, which elicited several rude remarks from 1 man on the team about how there is no way whatever was fitting at which I inquired. They spent the afternoon, until about 9pm loading items in, scratching and scuffing my flooring since they went. They did not put together all of the items which they took aside, such as my dresser mirror, and many boxes/items weren’t placed in where they were supposed to (such as boxes tagged laundry space pushed in my master bedroom closet). A couple of the men on the team I’ll say were good and working hard. Their titles were Steve and John. The remainder, all I could say is that whatever somehow was able to get from the home. After unpacking again, the number of things which were damaged and broken was absurd. I am still putting together a promises list to determine what could be substituted and what has to be adjusted. When I had been approached by North American through and following my move to realize how it went, their answer was”Wow that is terrible. Ensure that you have your check first thing in the morning to your motorist.” Oh, thanks. I am so thankful you are worried that your service was dreadful.
