On October 3rd, 2018 I phoned a representative at Independence and we moved over my itemized stock for my 2 bedroom flat and he had been surprised by how precise my dimensions were. Because of This I got a quote of $2,200 for my transfer from San Diego to New York. The movement was scheduled to be performed on October 4/5th they did not show. I called to complain and cancel but they provided to take an extra $100 from the price of my transfer. So I decided to give them a second opportunity and rescheduled the movement for October 8th.

But as soon as the movers came all of a sudden my estimated cubic-feet climbed to 700 cubic-feet only upon visual inspection, leading to a $1,000 increase from the initial estimate!!!

I’m waiting and sitting for almost 7hrs for your moving truck to get there. I had been told that they would get here between 10am and 1pm. I predicted at 1:05 since nobody showed up. I had been advised that 10am-1pm is merely an estimate and they can arrive at any given moment throughout the day. I phoned them each hour after and each time it was a distinct excuse: perhaps they have held up in an earlier job, maybe they’re stuck in traffic, we don’t have any idea where they are, and they are not permitted to be around the telephone while they’re driving, the only men and women who will do anything about the situation do not come in until the day. Absolutely horrible customer support.

When I did receive a call back from someone a little more educated, I was told that the truck was complete and I’d get postponed to the following day at noon. The issue with this is that my flight leaves tomorrow morning. I sold my home and give the keys up everywhere. This was mentioned when I set my deposit down, and that I was confident it wouldn’t be a problem. They’re currently trying to reroute a truck to pick up my boxes, but it’s 5pm and I have not heard any information.
