    Long-distance move from Maryland
Do not waste your time or money...

My husband and I hired a moving company to move us. I explained to the customer support representative we dwell in a 1 bedroom apartment and are moving to your home. We’ll have to produce a halt to recover more things which are being saved instead of only 1 stop to your own flat. He said he’d subtract the cost of another halt, subtract the cost of those being on the third floor of an apartment building and also subtract another charge I cant remember. He quote 4hours for its movement and 3 guys. I gave him the beginning address, the extra stop speech, along with the moving speech that’s more than an hour out. He was convinced in his quote.

He also sched us to get an 8am movement and advised us to be all packed. The evening prior to the transfer after 6pm he phoned and told me that his men got held up in a project also will probably be late the morning after. Rather than 8am he explained between 10-1230. The following day I received a telephone before 1230 stating they would not be there till 3:30. Our movers did not arrive till after 5pm. They had been 8 hours late. 3 men arrived who had been really pleasant and got right to business.

We came out at final destination in 11pm (they moved the wrong way and it took them longer to arrive.) They began unloading the vehicle and 75 percent to unloading we brought us the invoice which was over double what we had been quoted. I told him that I had been ready to go a bit over the quote if need be but not twice it. He got on the telephone with his manager and handed the telephone to my husband that advised him that they’d”hold” the things unless we paid the complete quantity. After contending for 30 minutes while the team stood still we paid $425 greater than we anticipated, $800 in total.

The team finished the work fast and got out of there departing candy wrappers all around the front yard from Halloween candies we provided them throughout the transfer.

I also asked to get a thorough breakdown of this transfer and was told I’d receive one in the ending…I did not, only a receipt.

    Long-distance move from Virginia
    Bait and Switch

After checking with them about past complaints that they bait and switch their clients, I obtained, admittedly, an aggressive quote and afterwards even questioning it, James stuck with it. I given them the job. Now, I get a call that they cannot do the job for this cost and are eager to”work” with me. I talked to James who eventually says”we can not do the job at the cost” and hangs up on me… DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FLAT RATE or James at least…

    Long-distance move from West Virginia
    Dishonesty

After talking with Mr. Martain about two distinct occasions we decided that my transfer would require 5 hours in a cost of $850. He’d inform me that and extra time will be 135. This comprised packing stuff and they’d package the bedrooms. We consented to package everything else. If the movers showed up (within an abysmal automobile ) that the foreman explained that this will require over 5 hours. I said OK since I wanted my things moved daily. I guessed it’d take an additional hour or two that I had been prepared to cover. The movers had to make three trips. They picked up the next trip and until they unloaded the truck in my new home they kept my house hostage before I paid in total. They advised me to complete the task it’d be 14 hours and $1965. I talked with the foreman and he informed me that they do so all of the time. I then talked with his manager and they said that Flat pace does this much. Unknown to me that they business moving my furniture has been subcontracted. I attempted to achieve flat speed before I’d give them some money and they wouldn’t return my telephone calls. When I eventually hit Mr. Martain two weeks after he said I had a lot of material, it had been my error and hung me up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

    MOVING SCAM!!!

    BEWARE: MOVING SCAM!!!

I hired this particular mover to perform a complete service transfer in my flat to my very first home – a total of 17 milesper hour This is my very first error.

They came an hour late, however I conceded that they were probably stuck in holiday traffic. Or running late on the preceding account. They advised me equally. Fast forward 6 months (although I had been nominated for 5, I’d expect that it might take somewhat longer. They never got into the storage components ). They trailed me into my home and we began to settle the invoice. Flat rate? I had been ***assured*** who”all substances were comprised” and”that there wouldn’t be any surprises on moving day.” In reality, the papers that I signed up before they started quoted just the price that was consented to. Imagine my shock when they stated it wasn’t the 783 that I signed up to get however that plus $960 for”stuff”!!! They needed me to pay nearly $1900, to get a 17 mile movement, for a sum never consented. We got to the telephone with”the manager” and that he attempted to describe to me that the extra charge was to get boxes, etc. (certainly not $900 value ). The supervisor said he can”meet me half way” and just cost $500 for stuff. WHAT??? Now , I told him a person could phone him back in five minutes, as if my parents had been in their way above (I’d enlist my dad’s aid with this scenario ). The moving van has been literally in the cul de sac, prepared to depart with all of my possessions in the vehicle. Long nightmare created brief, my dad payable a total of 1200 in money for that which was done and two extra hours to unload. Oh – although the shifting team was taught to float from the drive. My loved ones and I (together with the guidance of the subcontracted movers that were really quite adequate ) unloaded the vehicle at half an hour.

I have moved many times before ten decades and have NEVER dealt with this kind of dishonesty and corruption. For this review, I trust you will not need to.
