We moved from San Jose CA to Austin TX and utilized Fairprice Movers. They had been among those sellers my realtor known me to so I reserved my transfer in April to get a transfer ultimately July 2018. Michelle and Nancy corresponded with me personally. They delivered an estimator to check at my location and give me an estimate. The man came and took a cursory look without taking down the listing of things and the end result was that they gave a very low quote to the transfer. On the afternoon of this move the men who arrived for the pickup explained that just half of the truck is exactly what I buy for the quoted cost – a 1400 cubic feet volume. Considering that the quotation we’d hauled away many matters that were there when the estimator came. In the conclusion of the afternoon the quantity I had been charged for was 2300 cubic feet that was the complete truck. The cost moved up to double their first quotation. When I talked to Michelle she outright denied that there was ever any estimator delivered to my location. I forwarded her the email exchanged in which they affirmed with me that the time estimator was supposed to meet me in my property. Then Nancy explained that it was human error and they couldn’t estimate precisely the specific quantity of distance it will take. But how do the quote be half of the real and then they never gave a list checklist since the estimator had never ready one so be warned that this the trick they perform with you to find the job – estimate a very low cost for you into contract and after assert quote is error prone. For a person who has no idea that 1400 cubic feet comes to half of their truck and blindly trusts them is exposed in their palms.
They then chose my stuff and place at a local storage in San Jose and then delegated another firm Grabel van lines to provide our belongings in Austin. After the driver came he advised that over and above the cost offered to me earlier I will need to cover shuttle service to send my belongings to my flat since they can’t deliver a 16 wheeler truck at apartment complex. As soon as I emailed Fairprice I had been advised by Nancy that it had been in the contract which I signed when I picked up my belongings in San Jose that for almost any shuttle service at shipping there’ll be additional fees. So after paying double out of their first quotation of 8k ( I compensated 14k approx) currently I had been asked to cover another $1100 for shuttle services. This arrangement that they provide you on the day of pickup when you’ll not have a opportunity to browse and they won’t cite it to you and leave it you to be amazed with – because you need your items delivered.
Yesterday the driver of the van traces obtained a uhaul truck and hired 4 neighborhood people in Austin to provide our belongings to us at our flat.
I learned a lesson that
– request comprehensive estimation from movers in order that it is impossible for them to claim they couldn’t predict the true size because they did a bad job estimating it blatantly to find the contract.
– request complete contract prior to the pick up day and Request all details to be clarified and predicted out not left for you to read the fine prints
This is their adulterous way to conduct business. Avoid them at all price.
I needed to move to a new location and chose to telephone Fairprice as I’d heard great things from a friend about their services. The staff was very considerate and patient with me since it was my first time working with a moving agency. I had been somewhat concerned about how well they’d do the job but after its all said and done I’d suggest them to anybody!
Good customer service, extremely fast, professional and fantastic PRICE! I will for sure use their service again.
