DO NOT BELIEVE that this organization’s estiamtes. You’ll be overcharged in the end and there isn’t anything you can do.
I hired Superb Moving business to move from my condominium in Boston and offer a couple of months of storage. I labored together with their salesperson (Jenn) to come to quite a thorough quote, such as a very comprehensive inventory list of all of the things in the transfer. The last quote was $1,188.50 which comprised a 5 hour transfer for $695, $208.50 for traveling time, $150 for updated insurance, first month of storage free plus $135 for its next month of storage. I also consented to extra fees for any packing materials as needed (please be aware that I packed most of my things with the exception of significant furniture bits ) and leasing of blankets. On the afternoon of the transfer, the movers showed up about the scheduled period and the transfer appeared to be moving nicely. A few times that the foreman got my focus to let me understand that he could be wrap my couches with vinyl wrap, and that I consented to and in addition, he pointed out a couple of scratches on two items that I recognized. In the close of the movement I had been requested to settle for the total cost of this transfer. The entire price of the transfer was $2,917 that was nearly 2.5x the initial quote. The foreman essentially explained I needed to cover the entire sum and wouldn’t leave without a test, but in addition, he signaled that I could predict the office two weeks after (they were closed that afternoon ) and they’d surely give me a charge for the overage. Not needing to have a struggle with the team and with hopes that this could in reality be solved, I reluctantly composed the check.I did get the office the following working day and they explained that they were planning to investigate. A week or so after they arrived back to me suggesting that the reason the prices were higher were due to how my stock list had fewer things than what they really transferred. I responded explaining that the initial stock list had really more things than what was really transferred largely because of the simple fact that I offered a queen size mattress and quite large entertainment centre. In reality, that the foreman confirmed that in the conclusion of the move.
Then they changed their message also said that the reason the fees were greater was because of the simple fact that I compensated for the extra insurance and due to that they needed to be extra careful with my belongings and require more time to package things and utilize more packaging materials. Please be aware that I bought the excess insurance in exactly the exact same time as the quote, so that has been a known fact and, even if what they’re saying is accurate, should have been contained from the estimate.Key things in dispute: 1 ). Overall move time billed vs. the quote. I had been billed 8:45 hours (3 hours and 45 minutes over the estimate of 5 hours or the equivalent of$521 over funding )2. Excessive packaging fees; $727 for packaging materials. For example, this comprised 9 mattress covers as $10 a bit – if all I had was a king size mattress free of box-spring – no additional mattresses. There were also 12 photograph boxes when all I had been one film and one hanging mirror. What I’m being told is that they chose to package my furniture with vinyl, then wrap boxes about it and then wrap it with blankets.
I contacted the company a few times and they essentially said that I signed up a deal with them and they aren’t responsible for any overages. Told me I’d no situation together and needed to cover the move. I really feel like a fool and feel that my hands are tied. All I could do is warn different people NOT to use this business in the long run and discuss my expertise.
I have used this company twice. The first time they sent 3 guys that were extremely good. Fast, cautious and worked in 90 degree weather in June with only a 15 minute break to eat a few sandwiches I made for them. Was really satisfied. As such I have recommended them a few times and insisted that my sister at least get a quote from them. She chose them because I spoke so highly of them. The 2 people they sent this time were horrible. First of all they moved extremely slow to the point that I wanted to carry things up and down the stairs to speed things up. However I didn’t do that since I would be liable for any damage to my sisters stuff or to them if I interfered with their work. The previous movers who moved my sister into the place took half the time for twice the stuff (as we decided to move a lot of stuff ourselves to save money, which we didn’t since they doubled the work). When they took apart the bed they called me in to show me a portion of the head rest that was damaged so I wouldn’t assume it was them after. It turns out it was them as they didn’t even bother to clean up the broken wood right at the crime scene, which we found when we went to clean up the old apartment.Another big issue: My sister advised them over the phone that she had an expensive dining room table that they should be extremely care full with. When they arrived she advised them to be care full, they notified her of charges using their own tape to wrap things and my sister said that was fine as long as they were care full. They wrapped everything but the dining room table which they later severely damaged. Ill get to that later. When we left for my sisters new apartment they asked if they should follow me and I said I would meet them there since I was going to stop to pick up coffee. I got to the other place within 15 minutes (with my stop for coffee) and they arrived 25 minutes after I did. When asked why they took so long they said they stopped for gas and to get a drink and smiled. (25 minutes longer than I took on our time???).When we surveyed the new apartment to get things in we noticed that the front entrance with the stairway was going to be too small for certain furniture so they would have to use the back entrance which had a long walk way to get to since the car couldn’t park nearby. We agreed they would leave the bigger items to take through there. They proceeded to take the dining room table through there even though we had just established that the big items wouldn’t fit. Granted we were discussing the couches, but I think it would be obvious to anyone that this would include the dining room table. They proceeded to try and get it through by twisting and turning it and n many cases shoving whereas I would hear the wood cracking. After half an hour of trying (and of course damaging the surface of the table with several scratches and a chipped piece) they took it back down and one of the movers asked if I would help him take it apart. I said that taking it apart and putting it back together would take us at least 40 minutes when they could use the back entrance as we had agreed for big items and be done within 5. He left it for the big items and I was right, it only took 5 minutes to carry through there. He was even considering hoisting it through the balcony at one point and I said it wasn’t necessary as the back entrance was level and wide so it would fit easily. I think it was obvious that he was trying to find ways to extend the move and charge us more money. When they were finally done, I asked them to not put the bed back together as I was afraid they would take another two hours (which was supposed to be part of the move and took me half an hour to put together later since I did not have the instructions or took it apart to know how everything goes together). He then left to go get the invoice from the truck and took literally 10 minutes to come back. I Looked at the time when he left cause I was curious to see what he would put for end time considering how much time they wasted with their drive and with the table that was clearly their fault. He had the ten minutes he took included in the end time as the end time was for when he came back from the car.I left a voice mail to complain to the company and they called me the next day saying that they would speak to the movers on Wednesday when they were in again and they would call me back. I was telling him what they did wrong and the guy on the phone seemed like he didn’t want to “waste” his time hearing this and told me to send it in an email. At the time of writing this review, Its been 7 days since they were supposed to call me back and I cant imagine what they could do to make this review better as the dining room table they destroyed cost more than the cost of the move.I would recommend them in a heart beat if the movers they sent for my sisters move were even remotely as good as the ones that handled my move. But after this..STAY AWAY!
My lawyer asked me to go to consumer court. They’re a scam. Whenever they arrived in they began complaining on a lot of merchandise though there wasn’t much. Besides, why whine when they get compensated for more products? It’s their modus operandi to control more, dime and nickel for everything although Nyssa stated sofa/mattress wrap is totally free. As well as their contract / quote has plenty of hidden fees. Total scam.
Service is terrible and quotation was a whole lie. . .all our stuff has been either damaged or broken and they require no responsibility for this. Showed up late and complained there was a lot of material and it would not fit on the vehicle. Were really unprofessional. Dealing with Nyssa seams fine but she can’t do anything. The supervisor David won’t give you the time of day and is quite rude. I would never recommend this company to anybody. Stay away!
