Do not be tricked with these men, they’re the WORST movers I have ever paid for – after all is done and said, I’ll have paid $1000 for a two mile transfer!! I have soo much spent 2300 replacing the destroyed washing machine and fixing home house damage and they have issued an extremely instantaneous refund of $300 only. Not superior math if you are the customer. All requests for a sensible replacement or repair, have been discounted, telephone calls, mails, what! They false market services they play, do not even attempt to use these men for movers. To haul crap, they’re amazing in the if you set it into 1 area and they’ve got two reasonably sized men emerge. Most aren’t”hunks” -BEWARE!
Nelson and Darien S. These guys were excellent. They called beforehand, were punctual, courteous, uniformedand gave up pricing front. They were cautious with my things, and also my house including new hardwood floors. It had been hot states, however they worked tirelessly, fast (1hr15m) and match what I requested, in the little space accessible with some rather intelligent solutions. Here is the 3rd time that I have utilized CHHJ in the past 4 weeks. They’re the very best cost, and that I may use them again, and back again.
HORRIFIC! They scraped the floor of the newly constructed house, shattered our lamp, and tore our own month old mattress. The movers aren’t trained professionally – they are full of it. We had a brand new inspector who raised the mattress from the straps when requested by us to not – and ripped it to bits in addition to puncturing a hole at the floor. I really don’t know why this mattress wasn’t in a protective box or why these movers didn’t listen! When we advised these damages they refused to cover the entire cost to replace or correct these products. DO NOT USE THEM! It is a scam!
Edited in response to Andy Garcia’s yelp answer:
Andy is trying to downplay the intensity of our harm, when he himself never came to view the harm nor even had the frequent decency to give us a call. We’ve got mails from him demonstrating his lack of problem solving and regular attempts to brief change the surplus damages his movers brought to our brand new residence and brand new mattress, for what was a really straightforward move. We transferred from a 2 bedroom flat into a four bedroom home, which was just 20 miles off.
The movers pulled our brand new mattress without placing some protective covering on it. Then they picked it up from the straps, when my husband explicitly told them it’d tear if they did this, and they ripped off a strap entirely off the brand new mattress. Subsequently the movers took our fresh mattress from the filthy truck and hauled it up our staircase, where the floor was gashed onto a railing. Since the movers didn’t utilize a mattress box or even some other protective covering, the substance from the mattress is currently displaced. A simple google search on how best to move a mattress says how important it’s to at least cover the mattress in plastic to keep it sanitary and free from germs and germs, and to shield it.
The movers shattered a lamp, which has been thrown in their truck with no security at all. In addition they chipped and dented a crank table which was just covered in plastic wrap rather than fastened down into their own truck.
The movers profoundly scratched our new hardwood flooring, and if Andy insisted that we receive a statement for a quotation, for which he provided us half of what the flooring man necessary to resolve the gash from the ground.
Andy attempted to rectify the problem by always saying he could just pay us $.60 a pound of damaged things, but he even low balled us there by paying us less than that. After he saw this particular review, he emailed my husband stating he won’t pay us unless we take down the review rather than post a bad review of his franchise division again, which was illegal and dumb. As soon as my husband threatened to sue, Andy rolled over and said we can post what we wanted and he’d cut a test for us to the very little he’d agree to cover our damages.
My spouse will probably be sending the mails between him and Andy into the Better Business Bureau and to College Hunks corporate.
Don’t expect this man or his franchised division of College Hunks. His franchised branch is most likely a very bad reflection of the business as a whole, however there are a lot better choices out there. He claims to do 250-350 moves per month, therefore that he should do something right, however, the Better Business Bureau along with his franchisor will probably be hearing about this mess that he caused.
To start with, yes I’d first the traces that they pointed out in the very time of this transfer. Now that I look back on it I was”railroaded” to it. My fault that I trusted! The guys they delivered to put my items in storage clearly had no experience or training. As soon as I moved my items from storage furniture legs were placed in my leather upholstery that has put permanent scratches inside. They place heavy boxes onto a good glass dining table and totally shattered it! Then they told me that they just cover the pound to get harm. As soon as I told them that was not satisfactory they somehow found I still owed them $90.00 after all this time. If I denied I am certain that they’d have documented it to your credit agency, I felt as though it had been blackmail!!! Something has to be done in order to safeguard we customers from that happening to us. Where do I go from here? I’d love to understand who can help me to continue to keep others out of this. I’ve moved three times in 3 decades and has been cheated out two of 3 occasions! Help!
When you employ a business check be certain the workers don’t receive a bonus for just how fast they get the work finished.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I needed to have a 738 lb., 84″ H X 48″ W GE Built in Refrigerator Freezer moved from the doorway, up 3 steps, across the laundry area and to the kitchen since HOME DEPOT DELIVERY PEOPLE REFUSED TO DO SO (although was promised upon buy!) ! CANNNOT say enough great words about Joe, Martez and Chris, as hard working young guys! Additionally, their manager, Jim Donelan, remained in CONSTANT signature. THANKS, again! Dennis Williams, McKinney, TX.
I’d CHunks outside to clean building debris, but maybe not before I’d an estimator out first to determine precisely what they had been hired to wash up. They came with 20 percent of their truck complete even though I’d consented to a complete truck, ($769), and hefty load charge of $150 at the top. They emptied the vehicle and when they returned, they were still completely unprepared and didn’t deliver shovels, brooms or protective equipment. They hardly filled the truck 75 percent and once I informed them that they could match 20 longer shovels, (that I gave them), in they stated they’d sent an image with their manager who stated it was complete enough.
They did not sweep upward, in spite of my forehead, and even when they left a massive mess, and 40 percent of these stuff, I had been pleased to see them move. Fantastic riddance.
What a waste of cash. These men may want to go into a couch or mattress, or perhaps some cushions, however they won’t supply you with the effort required to finish a reasonably difficult job.
In the event the front line agency workers have this”Only don’t get by” mindset, they heard it by their direction.
Do not trust College Hunks to maintain their word.
My 67 year of aunt hired this firm to fill and load a 1-bedroom apartment at a moving truck we provided with a Thursday morning. She had been quoted $658 and taxes for the whole job. It might call for a team from Port Richey/St Pete to load along with a team in the brand new apartment close to the Brandon/Plant City region to unload. On Friday afternoon, the loading team showed up near an hour late and required twice as long as quoted to load the vehicle. For this reason the unload crew wouldn’t be accessible because it was getting late in the afternoon. This St Pete team would now follow us to get a hard drive drive, during rush hour, to Brandon to float. The team also stopped for a break and refreshment break during this time. Unbeknownst to us, our Aunt was getting charged for this moment. This wasn’t part of this arrangement. Fast forward into the new flat. The crew shot twice as long, as mentioned, to unload the truck and dropped bits of a mattress frame. The team needed to search through my uncle’s boxes/personal possessions for nearly 45 minutes to obtain the bed frame bits, with no success. I think they left them at a parking at the very first apartment. In the close of the afternoon a team member called his supervisor to go over the dollar number and overall time it took them to perform the task, as he saw it was an unfair cost. The supervisor didn’t answer his mobile phone. The team member touched foundation with the proprietor after about 10 minutes of trying, Ace was his title (727-422-2205), to talk about reimbursement or compensation for the mattress frame. He said he’d have a brand new one delivered to her flat the next day (Friday). No effort was ever made to have you delivered. Actually, my aunt and I left numerous messages on his telephone days afterwards. It’s currently Tuesday and he’s never returned our phone calls. We could only imagine the proprietor has gone into hiding in an effort to cover out anything. In frustration he wins for now. We’ll continue to elevate this before somebody listens.
We hired this business based from great reviews. I’ll say that they are only scam artists. Not only have they dropped furniture pieces, they’ve billed my aunt nearly double ($1,275 + tax) because of carrying double the total amount of time quoted. Due yourself a favor and discover another company before hiring them. You may save yourself money and headache.
I despise giving one star but I truly don’t want anyone else to experience what we did. We moved from Florida to Kansas and we’d faculty hunks load our truck and unload it on this conclusion. We utilized a huge trailer which has been driven by ABF. The men on the Kansas side started the trailer and immediately remarked on how the trailer was packaged incorrect. Boxes weren’t done correctly and had thick on top and light in the underside. Our furniture wasn’t correctly shielded and vast majority of it had been ruined. Our mattress was so poor it was not salvageable and we needed to purchase a new one. 1 box was so destroyed that the contents of it weren’t even close to the box. I’d heavy-duty tubs with things broken and ruined inside of these. This is our third from state move and undoubtedly the worst experience. Not merely has college hunks not apologized they will willingly take zero obligation. They claim it was that the motorist not their guys. I said that their guys on this side stated it had been packaged incorrect but they nevertheless denied our promise. They also took a week simply to respond to state they received the promise and then another month to state they refused it and yet another week to really email us telling us that. I believe that they are probably ideal for hauling crap off or tiny jobs but I wouldn’t ever enable them to package a truck. They aren’t properly trained since they claim to be.
A young guy came to our house to look at what we needed to proceed and we obtained an emailed quote the subsequent day. I consented to utilize them (via email) since they had the best price by far, in reality, I did not know how they believed that they could inspire us in only 4 hours but this has been their quote. Here is the scam..they provide a very low price simply to have the job. When they arrive on the afternoon of the transfer they would like you to signal a NON-BINDING ESTIMATE so that they can charge you whatever they want no matter exactly what they told you at the initial quote. They handed me a bill for over three times their initial quote and advised me their error is my difficulty bc I signed a non-binding quote. They have been rude and hung up on me while I had been disputing this together. The guy responsible for the crew stopped his job while at my own kitchen and said he had been tired and sick of seeing clients contend with them over the exact same issue and could not stand to see clients get treated this way no more.
Utterly just the worst. RUN. . .don’t utilize those individuals.
There was not any explanation for the proprietor to ship hurt, untrained men, no explanation for the rudeness, condescending attitude and gradual half manner, follow along with. Her continuing stance which they had supplied excellent service and a reduction cost is laughable.
Owner is unhelpful and rude. National client service may do nothing but ship client issues back to this franchise owner. The movers who function for them would be the nicest guys ever but weren’t physically healthy, were hurt to boot up and hadn’t been coached well. I transported 60 boxes myself to your vehicle and with the assistance of a buddy, carried all the smaller parts of furniture since you”Hunk” had stitches on my own hands along with also the”Hunk” was definitely in bad physical state, whined severe shoulder pain and may barely carry things. (Please be aware that this was just 1120 square feet of a flat along with a 12 x 12 garage each one of which was nicely packaged and organized. The place was scrutinized and the transfer estimated by a few of the folks and they watched the 17 measures to the flat and knew I’d about 60 boxes and a couple of smalls at a storage garage measures away from the flat ).
It moved so badly towards the front end of this move in the flat that once they finally obtained the things to my new house, I had them depart almost all of them from the dining and living area and that I hired a different inspector to spread the items to the ideal flooring another weekend. The faculty”Hunks” were so exhausted that they ruined several parts of furniture and that I was frightened would injure themselves more or somebody else near (they nearly dropped a hefty classic empire host on me which they steered off the rear of the vehicle ).
This movement not just cost me $1450.00 and significant suggestion (I felt awful because the men were forced to function hurt ), I also had to cover a second inspector $350.00 to complete the transfer, I have a few hundred dollars of harm to fix to damage and furniture to some laquer thing that can’t ever be fixed. My buddy saw them actually drag it on its own border from this truck. There’s harm in both places from them falling items or knocking in partitions. In addition, it price my reassurance since I made the decision to seek the services of a complete service mover instead of do itself transfer and I wound up performing a self move anyhow but worse. It’s a busy period for me personally in my own work and rather than making my life simpler College Hunks of all Mt. Airy, MD made my life more challenging. The franchise owner along with her team supervisor listened placed upon if requested to create matters right. My deals with both the Franchisee and also her boss were bothersome. They obviously understood I was wronged but did not need to acknowledge it and really didn’t need to create great. This movement was worth significantly less than zero bucks and I will spread this word.
This was a dreadful moving encounter. The worst I have ever needed. It is simpler to simply list out things
1. They had little or no resources to complete the movement
2. They are extremely harmful and careless with your possessions and home. I’ve broken items & flooring & wall harm.
3. They won’t unscrew light bulbs, eliminate drapery, disconnect / re-connect your washer & drier. Set up your mattress or put your big screen television in your television stand / games. They left my 50 & 55 inch tvs sitting at the center of the floor for me to pick up. And that I needed to scale supporting my washer & drier and join them myself. They had been annoyed when I asked them to pull out them – so that I could simply fit supporting them. My washer machine spilled out on my brand new hard wood flooring because they didn’t believe to empty it first – their phrases.
3. Their operations staff is exceptionally professional – and that is why you’re duped into thinking the service you’ll get is professional and you’re enticed in paying the excess cash – because you think you’re paying for specialist and exemplary support. These guys aren’t professional movers or logistic specialists. You’re better off employing guys off the roads. Do not be fooled these folks will rip up your residence.
This was the biggest error I have made in quite a very long time.
I wouldn’t ever suggest this moving business. They badly damaged my late husband’s desk when trying to reassemble it. Screws missed their mark, causing harm, screws placed in which they did not actually belong,”left over” screws located in a drawer. They’re refusing to cover since the desk is constructed from particle board. I really don’t care exactly what the table consists of – shoddy workmanship by individuals tried to build it’s exactly what caused the harm. The simple fact that it is particle board doesn’t absolve them of responsibility.
We had to cancel since we sold all of our furniture. We’ve been calling over a month to have a refund. Finally today I got a supervisor on the telephone, who like everybody else speaks broken English. They say we’ll have our refund now. We will see. CROOKS!
College Hunks is among the companies that project a great picture on their site and advertisements, but can’t supply any similarity of a workable business when you register for moving or transporting.
Cesar, Jonathan and Sebastian did a wonderful job! I strongly recommend them! They have been organized and effective.
A few weeks before the move hunks discharged an estimator who visited the flat and gave a quote. The transfer went well but the last bill ended up 40 percent of the quote given originally, and the reach of the project didn’t change between the time of this quote and the timing of this project.
Marq and his group were superb! Along with the entire price was well beneath the quote. I PREPARED FOR THE MOVE. . .boxed things correctly, unhooked washer & drier, took out light bulbs, unplugged and fastened cords, all of the obvious preparations. They were fast, friendly, attentive. I just had to become a traffic cop for where matters were put. I strongly recommend them to some sensible mover.
Our movement (1 mile in Brookline) has been the strangest moving experience I could imagine. The movers were youthful, inexperienced, and quite lethargic. We were billed 60% within the quotation, as the children doing the moving proved so wasteful and much more interested in socializing with each other than transferring our possessions. When talking to direction I was told that these were”children – maybe not professional movers.” No blankets were utilized to move our items and we had been asked many times from the movers to supply them with our scissors/knives. They could not put together a fundamental bedframe and screws to reassemble furniture have been lost. If I’d gotten movers from craigslist it might have been more economical and probably a greater caliber of mover. I would not suggest these movers to anybody who wants to have a hassle-free, moderately-priced proceeded; you ought to simply hire real trained professionals rather than College Hunks. These”movers” will run up your bill by transferring items as quickly as you possibly can and they will not apologize for this. Look elsewhere!
Irreplaceable things out of my sister-in-law’s property were severely packed and sent. Fragile things werre packed with just a mild paper wrap, in enormous, otherwise vacant boxes together with heavy non-fragile items — no more marking in the box which matters were delicate on. Each of the delicate items were also broken. I have never seen such incompetence!
It is very tough to think anyone can do such a horrible job since they did with packing boxes containing various items delivered to a dozen individuals with FedEx to ship! Scarcely any conductive cloth was utilized to wrap the breakables, the box that I received was way too large for its contents, which came all jumbled together–novels, songs, photographs, art, glassware, pottery–a lot of it ruined and a few valuable items ruined! 1 large part of artwork was wrapped and gouged so as to cram it in the box! Who DOES matters such as this?! There was no telling on the exterior of the box to reveal which end was up, no Fragile decals, and far too small taping (are you currently attempting to conserve cash?!) , therefore it was coming apart and sent upside down without a real fault of FedEx. These products were also a bequest from a dead relative, and pleasant, so it was particularly dreadful, however, what made it worse is that none of this needed to occur! The entire company appears to be completely incompetent, uncaring, and reckless. When informed about the damage to my cargo and also to that of many other recipients from using this work arrangement, the proprietor (Anastasia) had been chilly, defensive, stubborn, and attempted to shift blame on FedEx! However, nobody on the planet might have sent that kind of scandalously awful packaging without enormous damage happening to the stuff. They do not deserve to remain in operation.
If I could offer them 0 stars I would. My husband went down to determine whether they had any assistance during the transfer, and discovered them yanking our furniture throughout the sidewalk – not even picking this up just right dragging it around the parking lot. There was considerable damage to numerous products. In addition they stole beer straight from our refrigerator and abandoned it around our neighbors doorstep.
