We had been picked up on April 11, 2019. Today is January 16, 2020. It was happening for a lengthy time. Be conscious that they restrict themselves to just a rather compact liability even when they lose or break your things. Greater than $1 per projected pound. I knew that going in that there was restricted liability – but that I also felt like every time a provider is merely purely negligent and does a pretty terrible job that they would rather compensate clients rather than expose themselves to reviews just like mine. I suppose I was wrong – take my expertise and learn from it, please, so you don’t wind up with a massive unreimbursed loss.
I’m only speaking about only LOST items here. . .they also ruined our $3000 two month old leather couch and love chair. The tractor trailer truck which delivered us had my little woman’s mattress covered in black plastic and attached to the outside the trailer. This made the trip OUTSIDE since they ran out of space, a problem which should not have caused my child’s mattress to journey outdoors over 1800 miles of roadway. There aren’t enough characters to inform about all of the reasons we would never pick this provider again, but the principal focus of the review is to warn people to not expect them to stand from the products if they’re damaged or lost.
Our shipping showed up without a half a sectional couch, the legs into our expensive electric mattress, and a lot of different products. I videoed all of the matters we moved and had accurate info to share with all the claims section about what was lost. I’ve been trying to repay this because the delivery (mid June, 2019) and finally after all of the bad communication, lack of timely reply, rude/short answers from the claims individual, etc., we had been sent a claim launch form with a supply of $256 or $265? (Greater than $300!) For our losses. While this does not start to cover the things they dropped and bankrupt, we only filled it out and got it notarized and tried to return the form to the speech they said to ship it to. They denied the package I shipped priority mail in the front desk and so today we begin over trying to make them respond….very disappointing. I simply emailed again.
As I’m posting this review I got a direct answer to my email (first time ever) that I must EMAIL the discharge form, which I will instantly do. Part two, another review afterwards, will detail the timeliness they process it once received…

Move transpired July 5th, 2018
Moving is a challenging task and that is precisely why we might employ a company to provide help. The movers [I’m imagining ] are under control pressure to maximize gains that could imply, move quickly and with minimal personnel. The movers who came to my house are contracted and therefore are NOT CMS workers. Additionally, the lead inspector had a busted hand to achieve the near impossible.
The question. How can you manage a tragedy that leaves you helpless, emotionally shattered and financially crippled knowing that you’re whining about a team that left probably tired and perhaps a tiny injured? Where do you locate inside all of that honest and reasonable balance so that you encounter fair if you feel as if you lost your thoughts!
I’m a CMS casualty and that I spent over $32k for a transfer.
Transferring is private – romantic. You’re letting strangers in your own life, your house and trusting them along with your memories. . .with items which you have worked a lifetime to manage and get. You’re letting them touch matters that your partner and family have contributed within a lifetime. In my instance, my mom died a year ago and several things left to me personally CMS destroyed. This hurts – broke my heart and that I expect to kickstart reduction.
CMS broke over 120 items. Now, I simply stopped counting and alternatively, pitched the memories and cash into the garbage. A number of the harm senseless like a stone. Requires two to three men to lift. They broke it. This shows the amount of carelessness. Example, they broke one of those seats that links into a $17,000 sofa. They broke the mechanicals inside the seat. An individual could indicate great force and apparently little regard.
The transferring firm kept my financial advice from a previous authorized charge and with no approval, billed $17k+ for my AMEX card at a later date. I got a text message with an apology and that the proprietor had retained my personal credit card info on file. I did not agree. Nonetheless, it is alleged that I had. There’s not any record which I signed without a verbal recording approved. Why randomly charge my card without even calling understanding it is AMEX and charge is because EOM.
Destruction and Financial Hardship. Ouch!
I am not saying”do not ever employ CMS” since this might be the very nature of moving businesses. . .so you might be just stuck with all the dangers. However, you can learn from my mistakes and do better than I.
I heard from AMEX which you are able to set a block on a seller that prohibits them passing fees with no authorization. In my case, you’re able to manually allow a one-time fee. Control the payment procedure because the prices are large! Do not assume and don’t blindly trust. Keep control over your finances – shield yourself from a provider simply holding on to your credit card information without your knowing or they did not make it clear, we’ll use your card information again. Ask questions, get clarity. GET IT IN WRITING and also make sure they sign in ink.
You might feel hurried as I did. . .OPEN EVERY SINGLE BOX until it enters your Property. Get prepared for the frowns. . .but they also receive a rest too. Inspect for damage. If damaged, refuse the item. SEND IT BACK!
CMS utilizes bar code tags. They told mepersonally, it doesn’t harm wood. Nevertheless, it did. Each and every bit of wood furniture has been left with a glue residue blot. Some of it came off and a few things are forever stained [see picture ]
I can not stress enough. Document and when at all possible, establish a security camera to record how tough the movers are managing your items. I am aware of, annoying but if you’re a sufferer, you may wish you had. NestCams are inexpensive. Only do it. Capture as much proof as you can.
Back to the bar codes. Each of the things are tag with a bar code. Document the merchandise and bar code. In my situation, also this really is my fault, I trusted the guide which I did not have to experience the stock list and confirm. Do not do this. Just take some time and painstakingly verify each and every thing that it is there rather than broken. Yes, this is going to take a great deal of time. However, you’ll be miserable after in the event that you don’t. They’ll leave and you’re left pretty much helpless. In my situation, missing things. Yep. . .gone with the end.
Oh… and I also heard when submitting a claim. . .you had better have a receipt for each and every thing you assert. OH BOY DO NOT ASSUME You’re COVERED! They will request proof of purchase. So that painting or anything present your mother gave you. No receipt. . .bye bye – watch ya! Like my lamps. Missing colour. No reception… Sorry! You’re screwed.
And lastly. . .READ READ READ the terms and conditions – back and front. The men are selling you an agency and you might find yourself feeling. . .oh, I will trust XYZ. Do not do this. Read the fine print. Since the honeymoon period ends swiftly to a divorce. Do not assume hope.
Trust is earned.

My experience with California Moving Systems, 3801 Joyful Lane, Sacramento, CA 95827 was a nightmare. This firms activities, practices, and employees could best be described as negligent, reckless, and together with the possibility of retaliatory behavior!! I’ll only highlight Some of the problems with this business. After contacting Angies List and interviewing many movers I chosen to use California Moving Systems. I satisfied with their sales agent Greg Raiper on 2/7/14, I explained to him my worries regarding moving because I would need to put my belongings in storage for a protracted time period. I also raised worries of my house being treated with caution like I have Things which were expensive and brittle. I spent two hours with Greg who left lots of guarantees and ensured that my house was in great hands. I said that communication was crucial for me and I do not do surprises nicely. He promised me he’d be accessible by telephone.
On February 18th 2014, the truck and team came which to load my home. Little did I know that this was likely to be the beginning of quite a costly nightmare. In the beginning I discovered that this team had no clue about what the phrase”Fragile” meant. At the start of the stock, the direct driver or man, who went by”T” had eliminated the table cloth out of my formal dining table. He jumped to stock my house using this table for a work place; putting large heavy boxes onto the desk (made from soft wood) and slipping them across the surface. Two or three hours to the transfer there was one inspector that stood out from the rest…best described by the term”bull in a china cupboard” his name was Jason. I have a sizable Mitsubishi wide screen TV which was in pristine state (that was through two motions with no chips or scrapes ). I’d voiced to Greg (moving adviser ), along with the team that the necessity to take care not to chip the veneer off the TV. Obviously my petition went on deaf ears. I seen Jason and a different inspector manhandling it via the doorway resting the border of this TV on the cement when shoving it through the doorway, placing a large chip at the TV. I called Greg to say my worries on how my property has been treated but no returned call. In reality Jason proceeded to hurt a lot of different products. When I voiced my concern about his activities, he raised his voice to me and began to argue with me. I requested him to leave the work site and he explained he was not likely to go. I walked out to the truck and also informed”T” the motorist which I needed Jason off my home and for him to not touch anymore of my home, or they’d be placing back the furniture in the home and shed the contract. I moved back to the home to oversee a large executive desk which needed to be transferred. A hour or so latter I walked out to the front lawn and in my dismay I discovered Jason in my own garage managing my house after I’d informed the manager that he had been to leave my house….now I had a an problem of trespassing. I could not think how defiant this team was. I was the client along with the homeowner and they’d continued to ignore my fantasies. I once again told the manager I didn’t need this person in my house….all together it took approximately three or even more hours prior to the firm picked up him. I phoned Greg four occasions to explore these problems…. .no one returned my phone. I inquired”T” why nobody would return my phone and that I kept getting the stall strategy….Oh, he’s supposed to stop from!!!
About 9 hours to the loading nobody returned my phone, and the movers were all standing about. I inquired what was happening. I had been advised that they could not get all of my things on the vehicle. I think I had been told it was a 55 ft trailer and they could not catch everything on it. The driver said he needed to call his manager and Receive Another truck to emerge. After a while the manager awakened to find out what was happening. His name was Robert. He walked right pass me and was at my house around an hour or so. Never once did he admit me as the client….in reality he spent all this time belittling his team and also indirectly me with no acknowledgement. Oh, did I mention that California Moving Systems won a Superior Service Award on Angies List!! The next truck was filled up and had abandoned. I pulled my car in the garage and could not believe my eyes once I saw my big seven foot aluminum scaffold sitting in my garage that wasn’t loaded. I left my fifth forecast to Greg and now he replied…. I explained the problem and Robert came out again to pick this up and guaranteed it would get for me. I chose to do another walk through of the home…sure enough I found the hardware into my bed placing scattered around to the ground!! I drove to southern California the next morning February 19th 2014. While driving I called Greg to remind him to make sure that when truck came at its destination that each of the supplies which were quoted and sworn to me at the contract could be about the truck as to not make anymore distress with this movement.
On the night of February 20th, 2014, I got a call from Greg the moving advisor who signaled to me that his weight calculation was off by almost 4 tons and when I had been ready to pay $2,200 additional. I stated no!! The contract was a guaranteed to not exceed the cost quotation given. Additionally, I verified with him that he obtained my phone and that the extra packing materials were around the truck. Greg said They had a meeting concerning the events which happened and that the supplies are about the truck. The next morning February 21st, I had been amazed to see just 1 truck coming at my parents’ home to unload some of my house. I asked what happened to the 2nd truck. I had been advised that California Moving System had unloaded the trucks in their lawn and repacked the truck and also there was still another load additional that was visiting a client in Huntington Beach. So originally what required two trucks to load was merged to about 3/4 of a truck. Common sense would imply that land being transferred off and on trucks isn’t a fantastic thing, and I had been lead to believe that this wouldn’t happen.
The delivered Things at my parents’ home went quite smooth, a list was completed and the majority of the items designated to be dropped off in their residence had happened. The Remaining things were to be sent into a storage facility that would shortly become the next chapter in a continuing nightmare. The team arrived in the Public Storage centre where I’d procured two 10 x 30 units. I explained to the driver”T” that one unit was likely to be for furniture just and another for boxes and assorted things. The contract had suggested that I would inspect my house and that the furniture could be wrapped in newspaper pads, along with the mattress box pits must be sealed with tape (that didn’t occur ). I asked the team if they’d like me to purchase pizza for them. They stated that would be fantastic. I said that I needed to place mothballs and rat poison down from the components and that I’d go to the front office clean my hands and then order the pizza. As soon as I returned to the device that the team had ignored my orders of furniture just and’d already 1/4 the unit stuffed with my own property. I didn’t have to inspect the things and no stock was completed. I inquired why they weren’t wrap my furniture with newspaper pads as mentioned in the contract. The driver said that he didn’t have some equipment and didn’t have the deal with all the directions. I instantly called Greg to tell him what was occurring. I had been advised by Greg that he advised them to place the equipment on the vehicle, no matter how the driver denied it. To make matters even worse that the team which was obtained in the Atlas facility in El Monte refused to wrap the furniture and threatened to depart. So today I had a little mutiny in my hands at which the employees were planning to leave. The driver chose to use blankets to pay my own furniture and talked that the team to remaining. Among the team did not want to remain because he desired to visit his son ball match. My furniture has been ruined; I observed the team carrying delicate items and piling heavy things on top of these, flipping boxes tagged delicate end over end with no respect for my own property. Among those Agency took two 20 gallon pots that still had some dirt in it and turned it upside down spilling soil on the end of a very wonderful executive desk. I was puzzled when my tank came off the truck with water in it once I’d drained and dried out it weeks prior to my move. Due to the chaos, near 300 things hadn’t been inventoried and that I had no clue exactly where nearly all my stuff had been. On two occasions among the team (Nick) grow up and round my furniture to search for things that I had access to. Afterwards I found He had broken one of those legs off an end table when doing so. Several days back I talked with one of those owners Dave Higdon who admit the nightmare and wished to send a team down to unpack the unit, stock, and finish off the job. Mr. Higdon delivered CJ down on March 11th 2014 with just two extra helpers. CJ had with him several of my things that had gone into the Huntington Beach project and I wound up with an image from a different client. Obviously we could combine the furniture in 1 unit and perform a complete inventory of my own property. As guessed there was more damage to my personal belonging which I’d initially noticed.
I love that California Moving systems made an effort to attempt to mend things but since I review all that’s occurred the adverse experience and stress I Have endured much surpasses the positive. I am presently in the midst of attempting to record the damages that in a glance may exceed the expense of moving. I’m fearful that following all of the problems that happened with California Moving Systems, also this inspection, that the movers and insurer won’t compensate me suitably for my period (months ) and also the damages to my house!! I’ll keep you posted!!
