I Was Really Happy with the transfer. The movers were fast, and comprehensive. Everyone involved was fair and forthright. It was a Really good experience. I believed each one of the lead times were suitable for this a long movement. Berger was not the lowest, but the quotation was right about the money, and they had been fair. I never got the impression that they were trying to nickle and I whatsoever. My transfer out of Louisville, Ky into West Texas price me 7999.99. I had been right at 12k Pounds in moving cargo. Everything was professionally boxed very nicely. I Suggest doing your homework and with a location at your destination Where You Are Able to eliminate boxes fast. We had a TON to eliminate, and they had been cluttering our home which makes it impossible to actually get settled before I found a place to eliminate them. Nothing was stolen throughout the move. The movers all said yes, and no sir, and so are generally courteous and professional. I had an old chair that broke, along with a small gouge from the wall in our old home from the movers. Not a huge deal – I managed to Repair both myself. I didn’t actually put them on the promise. They were normally careful with my items, but there have been some time or two which I wish they would have been a Bit More gentle – particularly with all the heavier things. They wanted to have done (which is clear ) so that they had been reticent to phone the other teammate over to assist with the thicker items, and rather bit off a lot of time or 2. In general, I would recommend Berger (staff with Allied) for any movement.
I liked working with the people in Berger Allied. My driver, Pacer, was friendly, professional and quick. The Entire group was exceptionally receptive to my needs. The movement was painless and quick. The revealed up as strategy for the two pickup and delivery. Price to transfer my 2br flat was roughly $2600 at which I packed most of my things. The movement was from Minnesota to Texas; they picked up on Monday morning and delivered Friday morning the exact same week. I would recommend obtaining a binding quote together with the additional insurance for Extra reassurance. It was fantastic. I’d use them again later on.
Had a rep come out to our flat to help gauge the burden and just how much material we had. He was polite, informative, as well as fast. He explained a large number of things about what we can expect, etc.. He did such a great job that we chose to go together for our transfer from Ohio to Florida.
The difficulty was that the rep told us things that the real providers did not do, know about, or care about.
1. Due to the little parking lot, we had been advised that the major truck could not match. This meant they’d use a shuttle. The huge truck would park down the road. We also had substance in a little storage unit. We might pay extra to get them create two stops or may only bring it to the flat to load onto the major truck. We picked the later as it’d cost less. The driver left his huge truck approximately 20 minutes off. So I needed to push the UHaul into some weight station, and then where the major truck is situated, then assist unload, then straight back into the weigh station. The motorist paid the initial weigh station, but I needed to cover the second. This, in addition to the fact that the truck came back late and they billed me for an excess day of leasing, in addition to the excess gas and mileage. . .not to mention the price of hiring movers to help me load the truck in the storage device, it ended up costing far more to do so AND is was a much bigger hassle.
2. The sales rep left a huge deal about the way they’d free boxes. He did mention that it had been predicated on what was available, but he spoke a big game about utilized boxes which we might have once we signed the contract. When I called the main number (the major office in MN) to inquire how we order/pick up boxes, the secretary was shocked and said they just sell boxes. I eventually attached to the local workplace to find out that they *could* give away boxes, however they did not have any. It is a little thing, I figure, but somewhat annoying.
3) whenever the material came in Florida, it was only the driver and his son unloading (rather than hiring a few men in Ohio to load). We marked every box using coloured tape to signify where the box will move. I attempted to explain this to them and was cut away, told they’d”just figure it out.” The end result was matters were placed into the new storage device in the incorrect order and it is a wreck.
4) A few items were damaged in the transfer. The sales rep told us the way they wrap furniture in vinyl and also have blankets, etc.. A couple fine pieces of furniture have been scraped and scratched up as though they had been given no security. Other things were dented, missing bits, ripped open, etc.. That is where it becomes interesting. They are claims procedure is not valuable. We caught a number of things that didn’t fit the stock numbers on the paperwork. When I brought this to the attention of the motorist, he pulled it off and said it would even out. Consequently, in case you’ve got a filing cabinet using a decal labeling it 255, however, the paperwork states 255 is a box. . .which would you trust? Particularly if 255 had been pre-listed as with a scratch on it. So the claims group appears and says the cupboard was ruined before it had been picked up. Obviously, you sign off on the paperwork following not one individual explains what it is, which means you don’t even know that you ought to examine the notes, labels, etc..
5) Communication was not terrific. We also had them go my vehicle. The company picking up the car was horrible at communication, returning calls, or supplying any advice regarding if the car would be picked up. I had been told it’d be at the morning and I would find a call. When I did not get a telephone by the day, I phoned and was told visitors was bad. I didn’t listen before that day once the driver was just a couple of minutes away.
On the plus side of things:
– the movers that fulfilled the truck in Ohio were excellent: rapid, courteous, and hardworking
– our stuff made it to Florida manner before schedule
– automobile came right on time
