I transferred out of Columbus Ohio to Houston Texas. I was initially quoted about 1800 bucks for my transfer. I was just moving a 1 bedroom flat, and didn’t even move my mattress or dining table. I had been told I could simply wrap them myself and that the movers could blanket the ouch and television stand with no fee. Upon arriving, I was advised that my sofa would need to be packaged especially which will be an additional fee, in addition to my tv rack and jewellery armoire. All matters that I explained in detail and inquired especially about beforehand. This is roughly an American Knights transfer from Austin to Chicago at August 2018. I have held off on writing a review since the memory is still painful. American Knights was negligent at the movement:
They shipped my queen mattress into the wrong city (! ) ) , broke apart furniture, and attempted to extort a 200″long haul” fee once they introduced the wrong truck at Chicago.

I really do give credit to this shipment staff to be communicative and sympathetic. However the movement was dreadful: American Knights showed up late at Austin, causing problem with the construction elevator booking. They had been advised to pick up my bed at Houston that afternoon but rescheduled — and then overlooked the new window. Back in Chicago, the truck that they attracted was too large (even though having a 395″delivery shuttle” commission to pay just this), and also the shipping group attempted to pay off a $200 extra”long haul” charge.

My queen mattress wasn’t about the truck. American Knights tracked it down a week after, on a vehicle to NYC. It came six weeks late; I needed to purchase another mattress meanwhile. My thick, Italian hardwood dining room table has been ruined — seemed like somebody pulled it a very long way over path cement.

Do not employ American Knights. And if you do, then do not expect them to perform the work efficiently or punctually.

After I came in Maine and rented an apartment, I contacted them for shipping. They wouldn’t give me a particular date. They simply kept saying they’d let me understand. Driver called a couple of days after saying he discovered my thing and it’s in Ohio. In a week it’ll be delivered. It’s now been two weeks and still no item to be sent. Just as all others inspection.  They estimate one speed then double it and then add more whenever they pick up.   They make claims and then never keep.  Because I still don’t have my furniture that I can’t attest to the illness.  But they stated truck was still loading.  When I followed up that they informed me toilet was still loading.  This went on for months.  Eventually they stated truck had been loaded and could be here on a Friday or even Saturday.  This never occurred.  At this time I am getting no support and contemplating legal actions. My only suggestion would be”do you prep”.  “Look in their testimonials”  and then”then do not rely on them” My error for not exploring.

If you would like to hear pleasant promises the way American Knight Movers deal with your relocation call them. But in case you truly wish to learn what they are excellent in the future. After talking with Dwayne Lockett a few times about my particular requirements and receiving his assurance,Id contracted with AKMS to transfer me out of Cincinnati to Houston on 9/27/13. I wanted them to pack my items, two weeks of storage in Houston, also was fairly set in my delivery date (new task ).   NOTHING The sales rep told me proven to be authentic. The initial issue was that after they loaded truck, they shifted the price by over $1k! Second, unbeknownst to me, that they took my items 4 hours back to Cleveland to keep it. Following that, I never heard from them. They neglected to answer emails or calls for the whole two weeks. I called and called and called to validate my delivery date. I finally made my way over for their office in Houston. I was horrified by the way busy and dilapidated it had been and suspected afterward, my things weren’t in great hands. 5 days late, my things came. When they started the truck, my things began falling off the truck. I watched in terror as my piano arrived off overlooking its front two legs. This was just the start. They dropped the screws and legs to the majority of my furniture. My canopy was in pieces. The supports for my own beds were overlooking. I’d tables without legs. All of my wall pictures have been broken. Plastic bins were only in bits. The worst part was that I started one of my wardrobers and discovered a horrible smell–such as rodents. My leather totes had holes and my blankets were in tatters. As soon as I got to the base of the box, I discovered a rodents nest!!! Rather than being the least bit apologetic or perceptible to my shocking losses, this organization’s supervisors have threatened to”come to my own home,” and even dared me to telephone law enforcement. I’ve yet heard from 1 individual from this business apologizing for what occurred to me personally. They behave like I inconvenienced THEM once I reported them to the Attorney General, BBB, and DOT.   I’ve innumerable video and image proof. I doubt that”additional insurance” I compensated for is even valid. They even tried to convince me to sign a liability form BEFORE MY Materials was unloaded discharging them out of future lawsuit….NOT!!

Several things damaged, damage concealed intentionally until later movers abandoned (shipping ). Containers were broken into during transit, a few products were lost. Many noteable were the tried break-in of a storage bin comprising empty prescription bottles (I use them to keep screws and springs ) and the bookshelf. The shelving system has been transferred complete, delivered as an entire unit, and somewhere along the way in which the mover disassembled it *after* dropping off it in an effort to obfuscate harm to the unit which happened somewhere along the road. Now I am left with several loose pieces of timber (divide on the ends) and missing hardware. Some tiny things were taken out of several containers in transit. They ruined a desk *they* custom-packed, furniture that they packaged, an LCD monitor in its original packaging along with a fitness bicycle they packaged, among other items. I am still putting my complaint with the BBB and DoT from this business, in addition to my insurance case.

Dwayne explained that my transfer was close enough that they might do same day/next day delivery, due to my diverse work schedule which was perfect for me. When the guys came to choose my items up my things, they stated that delivery could be 3-21 days, next day wasn’t possible and should not have been provided. But following this”miscommunication”, things went smoothly. My stuff was sent five days afterwards, however they worked around my work schedule and were really efficient with the unloading.

Lies and misinformation from pickup to delivery.  Yes they were inside their contractual time frame except to inform me twice my items were loaded onto a truck just to learn a few days later that it was still in the NJ warehouse.  Why should a dispatch take more than two weeks to even leave the warehouse?  Their site says’two days delivery anywhere in the US’.  That must mean two days into the warehouse where it will languish until they find somebody going away!  I know that things happen but the awful customer support is unacceptable.

We’ve moved throughout the nation and utilize several movers, big or miniature business. This is business is just one which we’d difficulty. It’s extremely horrifying.  We’ve got some rather pricey furniture, along with the motorist should have been throwing them about like toy. I can not possibly envision how on the ground they could damage these fragile (very lightweight) peices so far! I AM SO ANGRY!!! Right to the point my wife & I predicted this business to move us out of pennsylvania into texas. What a joke, therefore I pay the cost. 12 days after Time for me to recieve my shipment & they’re late again! 4 hours. They begin bringing my furniture in & virtually every peice of furniture was SCRATCED,DAMAGED,BROKEN,STOLEN my heart sank! My workplace desk drawers cracked Office seat handle snapped off. Night stand & dressor legs snapped off overlooking 26 inch vizio telivision busted picture tube on 50 inch tv scraped my piano seems terrible! Missing 2 boxes of my collectable sneakers 8 set to be precise ranging from $150-$360 each pair. ruffly $1000. Deciphered a collectable vintage gumball machine currently worthless! I’m so angry! They beat me from my cash bankrupt & broke my items! Called American Knight & they had been mono tone like that is normal.they blew off me & expalain that a third party seller handle all claims one I recive the newspaper work it clarifies they repay & assure based on weight of products. Basically you’ll get refunded bucks! The same as others I didnt read testimonials prior hire. PLEASE RUN!!!

As one young girl I had been was somewhat intimidated by the whole”moving” in itself situation, but thankfully a friend referred me into a moving firm called American knights and they where lovely!!! Shame on me for not reading the reviews concerning this company before hiring them!  DO NOT CONSIDER FOR A MINUTE HIRING THIS COMPANY to perform some of your moving or storage. I made the error of using American Knights Moving and Storage also it was a nightmare.  In the front end, naturally, they had a nicely spoken, apparently knowledgeable, sales man that allowed me to plan my dad’s movement from Houston to California.  I requested to incorporate a complete package as my dad is older and that I wasn’t there to assist him.  We moved back and forth together with lists of items which could be packaged and moved.  I asked Megan if it may be better to have somebody come out and provide a quote and she promised me that wouldn’t be necessary.  After paying $2,100.00 up front along with also a $1,696 balance due upon arrival in California we gave a more comprehensive list of items which will be transferred.  Soon after the movers came they had been indicating that the transfer will cost approximately $2,000 greater than initially estimated.  I named the company and they ensured me that the  initial balance due wouldn’t alter.  They affirmed that by email.  The truck driver made my father sign a record with a balance of $1000 over that which we consented.  As soon as I explained to the driver that the workplace consented to the first amount he explained that if my father (after 8.5 hours of packing) didn’t sign the record, he’d unload the truck.  I advised my father to sign the record because I’d already talked to the workplace.  This all happened on Aug. 24th.  On Sept 6th we hadn’t heard from the business as to if our items will arrive.  I called the company and after putting me on hold for 15 minutes, Rosa came back and informed me that they couldn’t deliver because they didn’t have a shipping address.  What!!! 
They had been awarded the first available getting date and shipping address double by email prior to the 24th!  She stated she’d call me back that afternoon after talking to her boss.  Obviously, I never heard back from her.  The following business day, Monday, I called back and she said she’d tell me when the truck could be departing for California.  Obviously I didn’t hear from her.  I called the company back on Tues 9/10 and she advised me that they’d be leaving for California on Mon 9/16.  About 9/16 that the dispatcher (Max) advised me that the truck could be leaving and that I owed $2,672, nearly $1000 more than agreed upon.  That is when I needed to Speak to the Regional Manager, Lisa Miller.  She was incredibly unprofessional and incredibly impolite.  All she would say was that my father signed a legal record and we owed the money or else they wouldn’t deliver his things.  She eventually consented to decrease the additional $1000 by $300.  I simply needed my daddy’s things safely delivered so that I consented.  The truck came on 9/19/13 in our road level storage device.  The truck driver stated that because they weren’t able to park right in front of it and had to walk 100 feet, which I had to offer them $300 money immediately.  This is a door to door service and when this truck needed to provide at my residence, it might have been a heck of a lot more work.  These men literally had to walk 100 ft with things onto a dolly or cart and then pile at a storage device.  No stairs, no more furniture to gather.  It took two men 2 1/2 hours.  Well we didn’t have the $300 money and needed to leave to visit the bank.  On the way into the lender, the driver called and said,”I had to bring back $450 money or we wouldn’t get our things”.  Now I must have called the authorities.  I requested him (Mike and Issac) why the $150 gap but he could not explain.  He had been holding our items hostage and he understood there wasn’t something that I could do.  In addition, it ought to be noted that when I initially talked to the salesperson, Megan she advised me that they use all their very own American Knights trucks that were marked.  Nope!  The truck which initially picked up my dad’s things was totally unmarked and the truck that delivered our things came at a United Van Lines truck.  The motorists claimed they were utilized by American Knights however, the PMO for its equilibrium needed to be forced out to DC Van Lines.  Once More, SHAME ON ME FOR NOT READING THE REVIEWS BEFORE HIRING AMERICAN KNIGHTS.

Ok, I was alright with this.    On the afternoon of this transfer, they moved to my residence. The movers were rude to my mom, asking for safety, access into the home to control their mobile phones, and also took FOREVER loading the vehicle. During the loading process, among those drivers understood that an item which has been in the vehicle already from their prior halt was busted. In an effort to conceal the broken bit, he requested to Put It within my mum’s garbage.    Since the movers included up extra things to be transferred, my price went from $1262 to $1500. They then said they had to bill me for more packaging materials. Subsequently more boxes. Subsequently truck distance. Spoke with Dwayne back that explained he had to move me to Rosa the transport person to observe at which the truck was about the road. Rosa said she couldn’t discover my truck and could return to me. Never heard back from her. I called her again a couple of hours later and that I still couldnt locate the truck and stated she’d call me. Never heard from her. I called the following day. Still nothing. So today my stuff is lost. This went on for 10 days before I received a call in the motorist. He explained that he wasn’t certain why Rosa couldnt locate him and stated that they could be in my flat on the 13th day. 13 days! I began my new job with no furniture or clothing since they”may not get a truck to send my things”.   Day 13: Programs arrive. As they move to reassemble my things, they recognize that my desk has been broken and cannot be placed back together. They also struck my night stand lamps plus it wasnt till I went to go use it that I understood that my luggage fill with arbitrary last minute things, was totally lost. Still Don’t Have Any idea where it’s for the day.    The President of the Business, Kobi known to apologize. He had been full of explanations as to why they couldnt do it all together. His reply ,”This isnt just like a pizza delivery you understand”. He took 300 off my invoice but today I’ve a broken desk, two busted lamps, along with a lost bag filled with things. This all accomplished after they accumulated payment. Oh, and remember that the 5% credit card processing fee that they attempted to bill me!    As soon as they got his money, that was the last that I heard from them. I needed to speak to an external claims firm to document my claim. Nothing ensured and it may take up to 12 months to process.    Bottom line….DONT DO IT!! Horrible company!

On Aug 3d, 2013, we hired a firm called All Inclusive Moving based in Newark, NJ to transfer all our possessions from CT to TX. All Inclusive subcontracted the job to American Knights for its transfer. On Aug 9th, American Knights dropped my whole shipment into a fire at Braxton County, WA. Supposedly the trailer caught fire (No other vehicle has been involved in the episode ). My moving company called me and explained that it was a complete loss. The authorities in Braxton county stated that 9 other households also had their possessions on the trailer. 
It has been 23 days since the episode and so much American Knights hasn’t bothered to contact me in regards to the episode, let alone apologize. In reality, once I called them, they requested me to not call them and speak to my moving business (All Inclusive) instead. My moving company states it is not their fault and the American Knigts are accountable. 
How do a trailer just catch fire? Are you currently moving industrial compounds with our residential dispatch? Were the trailer jam packed with things out of 9 families? We do not understand. The driver made no attempt to fix any thing. We’d fire safe boxes in our dispatch together with original documents. Perhaps that could have survived. 
Our reduction from the episode was around $30K. We did not have full value policy, therefore the movers insurance is only going to cover us around 60 cents a pound (or $4K), leaving us with a reduction of $26K. Besides most of our furniture, clothing and initial documents, we also lost photos and vidoes of our weddings and of our children. 
I am writing this review below my actual name and this is really a story.

Risk!! Don’t use this business!!  I proposed a transfer from Houston to Dallas.  I had been promised/quoted that a 32′ truck that would manage (promised) 2000 cubic feet of distance.  The business came with a 26′ truck and explained that there could be an extra $650 fee for another truck.  I complained and they thought the charge, but that was jsut foreshadowing of what was to come. The movers packed all of my possessions into a single truck and drove to Dallas. They screwed around in Houston daily and didnt arrive in my home till 9pm.  If there, they wanted more cash than what was quoted and stated that they wouldn’t release my items until I paid.  They put me on the telephone using their”regional manager” that belittled and threatened me.  While I had been speaking to the supervisor, the employees quit/left only because they didnt believe I would tip them. Nothing was solved and the driver remained at my home before 11pm whilst threatening to push back to Houston with my items.  I eventually agreed to cover over quoted to receive my items and also the driver came back in the afternoon to move us in.  We had been bullied into paying over what we had been quoted and in addition to each of the annoyance, the inspector whined to my wife the entire time. I don’t write reviews on anybody, but please don’t use this business!  Considering our expertise, I’ve predicted the company multiple times to retreive that the excess cash that has been charged and they won’t return my telephone. I haven’t in my life dealt with these unprofessionalism. They’re quite rude and unethical. I had been given a quote of $1700. I understood that it was a quote. Once they loaded my items in their truck that they said that my cost was $3400. They’re extremely deceptive in their own clinics. They’re over-priced. Their customer support is quite lacking and incredibly impolite. They dropped list of payment. I wouldn’t recommend this business to be used by anybody.

I am quite encouraged to write an overview of my poor moving encounter with Right Start Transferring and American Knights. I signed up a contract with Right Start moving to my transfer out of Dallas to Iowa City to get a complete service package and move. Folks from American Knights arrived to pack my things. They came an hour late and then after they stepped to the home they reasoned that I had plenty of things and increased the cost. Obviously that calling Right begin Transferring was futile because they didn’t pickup my telephone nor did they reply my voice emails, even when thry were so prompt about it until I signed the contract. Because I had been running short on time that I signed up a fresh contract with greater cost. However, what a trashy project they did without packaging! They attracted enormous boxes and Literally just threw our stuff into their. They didn’t care if the material was glass or fragile or anything. They packaged our countertop washer in addition to wine glasses that naturally broke when we obtained them. We’ve got so much compensation to our plastic products and glassware! They snapped in our XBOX at a massive packaging box that had other difficult things in addition to one another. My 900$ mattress includes a large rip and greasy stains around. In addition to this as soon as the movers didn’t hear our concerns if they have been packing our belongings.  I had been advised that the material will probably achieve in 7-10 times but our materials came so late. The dispatcher in American Knights didn’t answer my telephone calls nor didn’t answer my own voice mails. I’ve been made claims from the start by Angela and today by Lilly.  When the movers arrived out to the first packaging they were overdue and then they didn’t take everything.  My sister called the dispatcher and they advised her to place it into a cupboard and they’ll pick this up on the last packing.  When I scheduled the 2nd packaging (1 day before I was leaving for Algeria) they arrived out at 6:00 and advised me it had been too late, I had a lot to package.  I advised the packers that they took the stock, my home should not be any surprise so far as the material.  I fed lunch and they arrived back another day to package.  I needed to prevail upon a buddy to remain and manage to ensure EVERYTHING was loaded onto the truck since I was on my way to Algeria.  I was educated by Angela to tell her know if I desired the furniture sent.  No one said I’ve no less than 25 days following telling to receive my furniture.  I had been advised to see what I’d signed.  I had been advised on Thursday that my furniture will be delivered on Monday or even Tuesday.  I then had been told there was a truck issue.  I requested for an upgrade, then finally called and was told that the truck was repaired that my furniture will be sent on Thursday — I asked for this in writing.  Thus far I’ve received nothing.  Oh yes, I’ve now paid you in full and I don’t have any furniture and no warranty I will receive my furniture.

You will find 4 people who packaged and picked up out things in Houston. Where as in Bloomington there were just two drivers that were assumed to unload and assemble the furniture. They informed us that they will arrive between 11 am -1pm on 7/21/12. They didn’t appear till 8 pm. Clearly they had been exhausted after the long driveway. They unloaded a number of our things and stated will come at 8 am next morning but didn’t appear till 10 am. They began unloading our stuff. There were two trucks which had come. After they unloaded a truck at the garage. There was a leakage at the roof in a few of those trucks as five of our boxes (containing electronic equipment ) were soaking wet. The motorist did take photos of it. In one of those boxes that there was a music system and toaster that the motorist also assessed weren’t functioning anymore. I also had a blender at precisely the exact same box and as a consequence of the moisture that the engine of this blender wasn’t functioning. They then began to unload the next truck. They had been someone elses furnitute at the next truck. They didn’t understand which portion of this truck needed our stuff. They took several hours to find out where our stuff was. Eventually they unloaded all of the boxes from the garage. The driver said he’ll continue to keep the boxes at the various rooms after he accumulates the furniture. They unwrapped the furniture. There were plenty of broken bits from the furniture- China cupboard. Study table,Book shelf,chest of Drawers, leg of arm chair, Dent in stainless steel garbage can to name a few.When they began constructing the master bed they couldn’t find the screws that came with the mattress. Wasted a great deal of time searching for them but were not able to discover. Obviously it was already evening with all our boxes still in garage and our furniture unassembled. 1 motorist said he needed to depart because of his other job and they guaranteed that the next driver will come next day to examine the inventory. Like I understood a number of the boxes were lost. . I waited the following day but nobody showed up. I called the office in Houston. Coby reassured me he’ll call the motorist. Lilly called me afterwards to notify me that no one was forthcoming. I told me that my stock was lost and the driver hasn’t signed off my stock list. My boxes were still in garage. My furniture was still unassembled. They screws that they had misplaced were so odd that I needed to order them especially. It took me three days of running around to locate them. I needed to employ personal assistance to assist me transfer the boxes. I picked American Knights because of my transfer fromTexastoVirginiajust since their quote was $100 less than American earners. This was be a major mistake.
The sales representative was Theresa who had been really friendly and nice at first but later on lost the ball entirely. She had zero coordination with their shipment department and ceased caring about my movement.
I needed to decorate the flat and hand over the keys to control prior to 4 pm on the evening of the transfer. The movers dedicated period of 9 am but revealed in 3 pm…. 6 hours late!! The sales representative Theresa fell the ball and So, I had to immediately manage their shipment blue collar employee named Jesus who had been rude, dumb and lacked citizenship. No customer support integrity or communication abilities.
After showing up 6 hours late, rather than apologizing, the motorist Jesus began negotiating together and raised the cost on the quotation. He threatened me that either I cover up the cash or he’ll return. They very well knew that it had been my very last day of their apartment rental which I had no option but to cover. I paid them according to the revised quotation. THEIVES!
They kept my things within their Texaswarehouse for per month and around 29th April I gave them both the last shipping address in VA.. The shipment section guaranteed May 10th shipping however FAILED miserably and educated me about the afternoon of the transfer that my stuff remains within their Texas warehouse!! These 12 times… the revenue representative communicated that everything is according to program! Following bunch of frustration full of telephone calls…they dedicated May 19th shipping. BUT this is yet another surprise…on May 16th I have a phone from their shipment that the vehicle is 50 miles away from my location and also the delivery could be tomorrow between 11 to 1 minute and when I’m not there, then they will bill me $100 a hour as waiting fees.
I was helpless and frustrated, since they wrapped up the phone on me once I attempted to assert that the firm dedicated May 19th since the shipping date. They were supposed to pick them up on Tuesday in my storage, which they didn’t without telling me. On the afternoon, I even emailed to the moving adviser (who took my purchase ) to inquire the fall off date. The reply was” Yes our Driver will probably be picking up now. Our dispatcher will have a drop off date tomorrow day.” So, I waited for the telephone from dispatcher. I didn’t receive any call by the end of Wednesday. I phoned and I discovered that they haven’t picked my stuff up yet. Their customer support was terrible. It’s been already 3 times behind, but they don’t believe nothing is wrong! The moving adviser was quite pleasant, but their support isn’t organized in any way. Oh, I got a call on Tuesday afternoon 7am at CA time (I’m currently in CA) in their customer support”how did you proceed ahead yesterday?” The woman had no thought about the delay. I’m still awaiting calls out of them to be informed when They’re picking up my things and when I’m getting them here in CA.

American Knights Moving hauled my household products from PA. to TX. Service was outstanding, nothing ruined, employees very specialist, and furniture delivered punctually. This really is a great moving firm.
