Long-distance move from Glen Ellyn, IL
    Go somewhere else

These 5-star testimonials are either friends and family of their owners/workers, or they just had radically different experiences with the identical nightmare business.

I would sooner move myself than use Advanced Moving & Storage again.

Go somewhere else. Spend the extra cash. Why?

    1) NOT ON TIME: We scheduled Advanced Moving to begin at 6am, and asked them concerning this beginning time before reserving them since we had been put to close on the sale of our house at 9am. THEY WERE NEARLY AN HOUR LATE, therefore our closing of this purchase has been postponed (and afterwards, the buy was also postponed until after that afternoon ).

    2) UNPROFESSIONAL: it had been hot on the day of the movement, so I did not mind the lack of masksnonetheless, they also did not have gloves, packaging tape, transferring straps, or some of those additional gear”typical” movers utilize. Furthermore, they underestimated how big trucks necessary to package our house, so we needed to get in touch with the lawyer of their house we had been buying, unload one of those trucks in the new residence, and then go back to the house we had been selling.

    3) DAMAGED ITEMS: Awful. Our mattresses were not bagged. Not only did they haul out our mattresses on the yard, they did not pay them while in the moving truck. Further, multiple things were ruined and Advanced insurance is a joke ($0.30/pound refund).

    4) INEFFICIENT: We moved out of a small 1,400 sq ft 3 bedroom house into another home that has been under a mile off. Our movement TOOK MORE THAN TEN HOURS!! We moved out of town 35 miles west in less time.

    Bottom line: go someplace else.

    Long-distance move from Illinois
    Worst Experience Ever

3 man team showed two hours late, moved to snails.  Said they had been outside late night ahead and were exhausted.  Just took half of my possessions – stated remainder wasn’t in their”record”.  Was never advised there could be a record although we had several discussions with the workplace.  Office woman even confessed she”forgot” to put somethings around the listing.  Needed to rent a vehicle and also have my kids move whatever they didn’t take.  Following my infant posted a negative inspection operator Jim phoned and said if she took it down, then he’d pick up remaining in few days.  She did, and obviously that he kept coming up with explanations and after two weeks he knew that he never meant to pick up anything.
The team was rude and also called my household”freaks”.  I’ve moved in and outside of 9 houses without experienced anything so horrible.  Would never apply these folks if they had been the very last movers in the world.

    Long-distance move from South Dakota
    Stay away

Here is the review I’ve posted on Google. I am posting it again, here, since I need as many folks as you can to keep out and rescue themselves from the hassle my girlfriend and I moved through.

This must be among the worst experiences I have had with a business. Ever. Unprofessional. Terrible customer support. I really don’t feel as though I could say enough bad things about this business to warn folks. If I could give them zero or negative stars, I’d.

My girlfriend hired them for a long distance transfer from Chicago to South Dakota. Having a moving date place two or more months outside (lots of time for shipment and logistics to find everything so ) the shipping has been delayed almost two weeks.

Attempting to get in touch with our rep, Tyler, was a nightmare because he was either out of their office or simply not prepared to take our telephone calls before we left it a point to follow up EVERY DAY before he reacted to us. The main reason behind the delays? “Dispatch simply could not catch a truck scheduled for shipping .”

This was AFTER they’d two MONTHS to make certain dispatch COULD receive a shipping in once. Shipping was supposed to take place in June 2019. We eventually got our things in August. Tyler subsequently told us to submit a delay of shipping case.

Therefore, we registered the delay of shipping case. They advised us they were not accountable for any truck malfunctions and consequently wouldn’t be honoring our delay of shipping case.

So….two weeks later we’re supposed to receive our things, the driver arrives (super nice man, frankly the only decent man I dealt with while working for this firm ) and supplies our things.

It becomes even worse. Not only were they two weeks late on the delivery, but high-dollar things were ruined, moving bags were clearly opened, and we did not even get each one of the products.

That is the State of the bags on the afternoon that which was sent:

This business is a joke. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and proceed with somebody else.

    Long-distance move from Bloomingdale, IL
    Our move

DO NOT HIRE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
Arrangements went easily to prepare the move. Things were saved by them at a”climate controlled” warehouse and then sent to our house one month afterwards. The movement wasn’t managed in a professional fashion and things were lost or damaged. Though we’d bought a complete value protection policy, the business refused to honor that commitment promising harm was pre-existing. No notation of the was created about the loading sheets and we’re sure it wasn’t damaged before the transfer. Our claims were around for near $4,000 plus they shipped us a check for $23.

We had been confident that the motorist who loaded our possessions in Bloomingdale would accompany them to our new residence. This didn’t occur, along with also the driver assigned to send has been with the provider just a few weeks. This delivery driver, while competent, was unsuccessful in handling the team participated to offload our possessions.

The crew that Advanced participated to offload our possessions was from our standpoint inept and unprofessional. They were more worried about getting done than about caring for our possessions. They even marked things as delivered that weren’t as evidenced with a lost lamp and a ship that needed to be forwarded to people to a date one month following delivery.

Maybe above all, the motorist, acting as the representative, concurred that the 2 tables that the crew ruined were irreparable. We took him at his word and disposed of those ruined tables because we had no space to store them in our brand new site.

We realize that the provider thinks that they were after the letter of this contract; and while the corporation may hide behind the wording, we don’t think that we had been treated fairly in this circumstance. From our standpoint we think that the communications and actions were unprofessional, unethical, and possibly even immoral. Due to that we believe that we have to let others know of the situation so that they can make informed decisions concerning entrusting Advanced Moving using their cherished belongings.

    Long-distance move from Chicago, IL
PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!

I wish I can provide negative amounts. My parents and that I experience with this firm was dreadful!! I carried with the representative I was calling on behalf of my own parents to reserve their transfer, since they were inaccessible in a funeral. I requested the reservation be put in their titles with their telephone numbers. As it came time to get the transfer, I wouldn’t be there, a stage which I explained to this representative. Anyhow, they came searching for me stating that I had a whole lot of paperwork to signup and made it look as they weren’t able to begin until I came. How most moving businesses work is the cost is based on quantity of time spent to the complete move in and out. If they arrive, then the clock begins. We had been offered a 4.5 hour proceed depending on the quantity of things we anticipated we’d. This is the place I had been incorrect. About 25 percent of the products were planning to storage, and this is across the road from the transfer in speech. Other firms, in previous movements, had no issue with this because again, you’re charged according to time. I was wrong since I did not mention it since I did not believe it was a major deal to have things split between places due to the proximity. Major mistake. The movers whined, known as their shipment, in flip the shipment called me stating they’ll proceed to a place, due to time limits and they had a different move straight afterwards, also I needed to be there in person to sign documents for your transfer. I was so pissed I needed to move there, once I clearly said I couldn’t on reserving, but I recognized that they weren’t able to visit two places. . .that was on me personally. Anyhow, the men started the movement, and it had been controversial. Among those guys was drinking at work and you may smell the liquor on his breathe. We guessed that they were pushing all the buttons around the cargo elevator so that it takes more time to go up/down (the days my dad rode together, this didn’t occur, but if we was not and asked what had been taking so long, so they’d respond”all of the switches were pushed” or even”the elevator churns”). They took long breaks between shifting. Exactly the identical drinking men lied to my dad about something my mother and explained and if my dad asked my mother, she denied having said this, also if he had been confronted facing both of them,” he attributed somebody else. In addition they took a while to crack down a queen mattress and then did not put it back together correctly upon finishing the move. It took them 4 hours to go from this 2 bedroom two bath flat, despite the support of my father and brother (who came over to assist ) taking down another bed and dining area desk to move the process together. They make the most of my parents along with the circumstance, understanding at this stage , they had no other choices. Certainly they didn’t have any job to do since the shipment led me to think. The occupation took nearly 8 hours, and that my parents had to think of money to pay for the gap. A quotation moved from roughly $700 total to $1200. Unbelievable. Had I been in a position to be there, there’s no way in hell matters could have moved down as though they did. We ended up needing to transfer the material from the flat into the storage centre ourselves. . .not in the finished flat, but by the 1st one, since they didn’t take everything, since they had been taking too much time to move. At this time we paid them $1200 to maneuver about 80 percent of 2bed/2bath values of things for 7 days.

    Zero Stars

The WORST company ever. They stole our things , broke others, maintained our items hostage unless we paid an extra 500 AFTER we’d already paid an additional 300 upon completion of transfer in to storage centre, and refused practically every claim we left. Total scam artists. Check out their otger testimonials. Complaints have been filed with ICC and Attorney General. They’re extortionists who altered the bill of lading. Stay away. Use almost ANY other business. This provider is completely unprofessional and unethical. Should be set out of the business.

    Long-distance move from Illinois
    Misled, extorted

    [EDIT]

In late March, my mom and that I hired Advanced Moving and Storage, Inc., dependent in their capacity to adapt our movement out of Illinois to Texas in the last moment. Everything was originally performed through [NAME EDIT], [NAME EDIT]’s son, and also firm”relocation expert.” Upon supplying a 25% deposit, then we first put a date for these to load our home products on 4/3/17, together with the shipping date being put for 4/7 (4/15 being the newest, each the contract).

The moving team came & did their project on 4/3 without event. [NAME EDIT], the business’s only motorist, advised us that he’d call on 4/6 to tell us what time he’d be coming on 4/7, because they had yet another dispatch to send along the road down in St. Louis. Confident that everything goes as planned, we abandoned on 4/5 within our private vehicle, also came at our vacant home in TX around 4/6.

Foreshadowing the terror to come, [NAME EDIT] predicted on 4/5 and stated he had to conduct our charge card to the remaining 75 percent of what had been assumed to have been caused by delivery. Not thinking anything of this, we advise him to do it. On 4/7, we woke up early in anticipation of this truck coming. After waiting a few hours with no contact, we predicted the organization & left a message. A few of hours later, [NAME EDIT] phoned and alleged that the truck broke down in St. Louis, however that it was a”minor matter.”

The above”minor problem” turned to us waiting nearly 3 weeks for our house. There was no apology, no reduction or reimbursement for that which we needed to purchase to keep us in a vacant home, and incredibly limited information regarding if the truck could ever be mended. Two weeks into the ordeal,” I advised [NAME EDIT] that we were planning to check with a lawyer, whereupon he stopped all communication together.

I needed to have my dad (who resides in Chicago) reach him out to get any info. [NAME EDIT] advised my dad that he wasn’t likely to send our property today until he obtained a cashier’s check or money order, regardless of the fact that he had already been paid over $4,000 (the complete amount for the transfer ). Horrified with this, my dad alerted mepersonally, upon which I registered a complaint with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration.

They stated that [NAME EDIT] was effectively holding our land”hostage” at the point, and could be exposed to some $10,000daily fine for every day that he asked for another kind of payment (he stated he’d”refund” us the exact total paid through credit card once he got money, but because of his impolite and unethical behaviour, we could not expect him).

About 4/24, the truck finally came with all our possessions. Before offloading the preview, yet, [NAME EDIT] advised me that we needed to signal up a Credit/Debit Card Authorization Type, stipulating that we still owed them over $3,000, which we needed to submit all claims directly through them.

We refused to signup whereupon [NAME EDIT] educated [NAME EDIT] to depart [EDIT] together with our land and also to keep it someplace indefinitely before we signed stated form. After confronting [NAME EDIT]’s extortion, ” I phoned the FMCSA, where they stated to do all in your ability to recover your premises, also it meant registering something which we’d no legal responsibility to signal.

Horrified that we may never see our real estate back, my mom signed the kind below duress. Furthermore, I called the authorities to ensure an officer would make be aware that people had been strong armed into signing a kind which we didn’t legally need to. After all of that, they eventually offloaded the trailer, and we once again had our possessions… or the majority of them, at the least.

After spending hours going through the stock type, we discovered that tens of thousands of bucks in household products had gone lost [EDIT], for example my desktop computer. Additionally, [NAME EDIT] failed to stock many things from when they first packed that truck, that I think was done so that it would be less difficult for them to [EDIT] items. Having worked in the transport industry for some time myself, I was also puzzled that the turnaround time due to their truck took as long, that gave rise to the next suspicions:

    A) The truck never broke down in St. Louis. Rather than driving down to Texas with just a partial load, then they chose to return to Chicago (just 4 hours from St. Louis), and wait patiently till they might fill it with additional heaps to allow it to be complete (intentionally reevaluate our dispatch ), or B) the truck didn’t break down, however had been repaired much quicker compared to [NAME EDIT] allowed on so that, yet more, it might be full of more tons, thus slowing our shipment. Considering I uttered [NAME EDIT]l state that they delivered a burden before ours in Kansas City, I’m inclined to feel that feeling B is much more plausible.

[EDIT] My sole hope that as many people as you can read this so that they don’t need to endure what we did.

    Horrible

Lord, the way to create a very long story short? I will begin with stating there must be a no celebrities choice.  Instead, they broke/damaged MANY of the items, such as a mirrored cupboard doorway, lamps, dresser, dishes, etc.. Things like drills went lost entirely tho we saw them being packaged.  They refused nearly all of our promises saying they were not responsible.  They billed us over 1000 over the quote and refused to come back our items, threatening to push off till we paid the additional fees which comprised more labour than that which had been used and provides never employed.  I reported to Illinois Commerce Commision, the BBB and the Attorney General.  I so wish I’d read past reviews.   The proprietor is the one which advised the employees by telephone to gather all extra money as he creates ALL decisions.  They provided me a whopping 60 for countless missing and damaged things.  Did I neglect to mention that the owner shifted that the Bill’s of Lading? Altering the numbers and hours AFTER I initialed already?   After much back and forth, I recognized that the owner was not the most moral person and wasn’t likely to cover what was only, so that I chose him to Small Claims court, also that I WON MY CASE. As soon as I emailed about paying me the exact sum the court given, the answer was supposed to stop and desist (ummm, no, I still do not need to) and also to mention nobody from the business is going to respond to my calls or emails. It seems that I must return to court to accumulate.  All they have reacted with would be that”that an lawyer will contact me”, but will not supply a title or number, and there’s absolutely not any lawyer on record in this instance.

Not positive if I said that the ever so classy proprietor shouted at me at the court halls resulting in a sherriff to escort me to my car after the first hearing.  In a different sites inspection,  the proprietor replied he cares doing business with me.  Obviously he can.  I refused to allow this business make the most, I followed through on the tiresome process of having them as I informed him that I would, and above all , I WON my situation.  I’m the one full of sorrow for expecting that this was a specialist firm, that they kept our things hostage demanding more cash and threatening to push off with our things if we did not cover, charging us for supplies not employed & damaging our items to top off it.  In addition, I repent their refusal to cover the conclusion, instead promising they’ll appeal and receive a new trial, as it only goes back to court we proceed along with a longer procedure. I don’t have any doubt that this ensemble regrets that although I had been ready, they weren’t, attracting 1 witness to mention a confirmation letter together with additional charges was delivered to me, entirely untrue incidentally, which explains the reason why they were not able to make it in court.  Rather than supplying any type of correspondence, they promised that it was not about the server anymore because they’ve delete docs for space reasons.  I think that was the instant the Judge understood they weren’t credible. There wasn’t any evidence that I was incorrect and the proprietor falsely said that he had been included in our movement from the beginning, yet did not even know that I hired their packaging services. Hmmmm.    I had been ready for the court.  Equipped with evidence of each discrepancy, mails, contracts and quotations to prove my situation.  It’s the Reason Why I WON.  I had the facts on my side along with evidence to back this up.

So, I figure I will see em back in court soon.  They could only send me everything they owe, but they wont since in my view the owner does not have any integrity, morals or business acumen whatsoever.

In my private opinion, this provider is extremely unprofessional.  It has been my experience that the owner believes he could do anything and control whatever he needs, and will probably attempt to do this because he did with me.  Implementing them had been the worst choice I’ve ever made, and again based on my own experience, you will probably wind up paying a lot more than that which was quoted since I did.  Save yourself the hassle that I’ve suffered for a year prior to going to court.  Read ALL the reviews, you’ll find many just like mine, and you’ll observe this pattern. You’re going to be better off using a well understood, reputable company which cares about their standing.

    Long-distance move from Illinois
You get what you pay for

Allow me to first state that Advanced Moving and Storage isn’t the worst moving business but is a really close runner-up.
    THE GOOD:
    – came on the date that we agreed to proceed from my flat
    – nothing was missing – many of my things was undamaged
    – delivered my things within their own truck
    – delivery driver James has been Good
    – delivered within the Shipping window agreed upon (13 times )
    – cost was fair (you get what you pay for)
    THE BAD:
    – packaging team was overdue by 4 hours.
    – packaging group of just 3 guys that have been 4 to the quantity of stuff I’ve.
    – among those packers smelled like very strong alcohol.
    – packaging list Wasn’t true or quite descriptive
    – many things Weren’t inventoried (I made my own stock and conspicuous boxes myself)
    – they shot my wife’s clothing after we asked them to not several times. Was unable to get them back since they wouldn’t let us into warehouse where my material had been saved. The proprietor had no empathy that my spouse had nothing to use.
    – didn’t enable us to find the weighing of this truck or offer a burden receipt.
    – was billed for full estimated price since they whined about weight of dispatch.
    – the delivery group consisted of the motorist and two hired assistance from Labor Ready (not specialist movers)
    – among the hired help was a girl with flip flops on. (nothing against girls but she Wasn’t Ready to Do move)
    – wouldn’t unload the truck before I signed a waiver that they won’t cause damage to the home.
    – ruined many parts of furniture because of improperly packing and handling.
    – two table casters divided from java table
    – beds in which shrink wrapped rather than bagged like I had been advised. Mattresses are dirt stained in which shrink wrap has been torn
    – IKEA publication shelf and television stand where seriously scratched because not properly wrapped
    – brand new bedroom set was scraped and dented – leg broken in my kid’s princess dresser.
    – business is unresponsive. They’ll tell you they’ll call back but never will. You need to keep calling them.
Advanced is quite unprofessional. The estimator Tyler is the sole professional person in this organization but that’s were the professionalism conclusion. The proprietor seems like he doesn’t even take care of his clients and will lie to you in a moment. Many things were ruined but its not really worth filing a claim since they will likely never cover or acknowledge responsibility. Though I bought the complete value replacement coverage. Should you roll the dice and then utilize this business like that I did, ensure that you pack and stock everything yourself. Use heavy duty boxes and a lot of packaging tape. Shrink wrap your own stuff and buy mattress bags. Get a not-to-exceed quote and expect to cover the complete price. I had been advised that the foreman would remain with the dispatch and could be there for the delivery but whined. The delivery driver James was fantastic but was set in a terrible position if they hired unskilled movers in the delivery. He left the best of this situation and worked extra hard to receive our stuff from the home without causing any further harm. All of the damaged was caused from the packaging procedure or any time they transferred my belongings out of truck – to storage – to truck. I don’t recommend this corporation.

    Good moving experience overall

The team from Advanced Storage and Moving did an exceptional job wrap all our household goods and moved all from their home without hurting anything. We transferred from Illinois to Arizona following our things stored in their center in Chicago. They sent our furniture and household items in AZ at a really professional way. We’d have some slight damage to your loveseat. I’d have given 5 stars, however, offered just 4 because of how their pricing functions. As soon as I signed up the contract, I had been awarded an estimated price (also called a not to exceed price ), however I had been told the true price is going to be dependent on the actual burden of my products in delivery (which could probably be less). In the long run, I had been billed not to to exceed level, irrespective of the true burden, which I believe was about 10-15percent less compared to expected as I didn’t wind up sending as many things as initially intended. However, a fantastic encounter with Advanced Transferring – only know going in that you’ll cover just the not to exceed total amount.

    Almost perfect

The office staff is lovely and adapting. The group that transferred me was exceptional for the large part. The sole reason I did not give 5 stars was because there were several things which were broken in transit and that I wasn’t informed. I detected them long after the movers left. Both were furniture bits. I understand you are likely to expect a couple of matters to be broken I only wish they’d have informed me.

    Moving

Even though we didn’t have a lot of to proceed, two chambers. . The encounter was still great. The movers were quite efficient. I’ll use this company for any future movements! Additionally their response to my online question was very quickly and every time I was even able to reschedule my movement without any problems! The 3 guys we had were quite considerate. Not one of my furniture has been ruined and we had an extremely large sectional that people must squeeze into a little area. I’d certainly recommend advanced storage and moving. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to employ movers, then they will surely make your choice easier!
