When exploring movers to get a large movement from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles, I talked to many companies over the telephone. Andy, the general director, called me to give me a quotation and it had been a few thousand bucks cheaper than the others. I must have known with his fast talking sales pitch I was putting myself up for tragedy. I went through and gave him a list of the things in my residence and number of bedrooms plus he anticipated the square footage I’d need. Subsequently to win me over he states that he’s throwing in all of these reductions and will ship free boxes, etc.. The first quotation was just under $5000.
Transferring day arrives and the driver informs us his truck broke down so that they can not come until the following day involving 6-7am. Fine, that occurs. The following day we’re up waiting and they do not reveal until almost 10am. My entire house was totally packed except for 3 closets in my kitchen, but I had been told that they were planning to pack my home too so I did not feel that 3 closets was a major thing. Among those men ends up sleeping in the vehicle ALL DAY. The guide mover gradually packs my kitchen things however is on his telephone and talking in the backyard each time that I go in to assess. The next inspector was running his tail off trying to receive my furniture disassembled along with also our stuff packed on into the truck. It ended up carrying these men until 8pm. If they needed to pack my things also, there is no way this could happen to be a one time job.
First MAJOR difficulty, they alarmed me once I used up my allotted area but my home was only half empty. Which means, I could possibly pay for the extra distance or abandon whatever they had not packaged behind. They ended up filling the truck into the brim, with over twice the allotted space. If I’d have known that it was likely to be so much, I’d have sold or gotten rid of half of it. I feel totally bamboozled by Andy and his”quite large tech computer applications” that anticipated my cubic feet. I can know if it moved over a bit but my whole bill was nearly $11,000! He badly underestimated and tricked me into going for this corporation. Additionally, but in lieu of the 50 percent of $5000 that I had been told I’d be needing to cover up front, I was currently needing to cover 70 percent of $11,000.
The next significant difficulty, my hardwood flooring were quite damaged in the transfer along with the movers refused to accept responsibility. They claimed that it was not them (it was) and if we attempted to determine what to do (we are attempting to sell this home ) all of the sudden the primary man could not spare 10 more minutes for us to make a telephone calls and desired to get on the street. He explained that we were simply mad that the movement was really pricey so we had been blaming them. Darn right we’re angry but even more so that now we would need to get the flooring fixed so as to market our property. We talked to Ray, the proprietor many occasions and he said they’d send over claim kinds but after several tries to get them, he still refuses to ship them. In an effort to appease me, Andy assured me that our things will satisfy us in California and also we would not need to wait around for it. We had been driving and it took us 6 days. Well, 2 weeks after our stuff eventually arrives. Which leads me to…
Third MAJOR issue is that a lot of our possessions are missing! The movers on the end were really terrific. They were fast, friendly and transferred everything to the right rooms. I did notice immediately that our coffee table wasn’t delivered. The men assured me that when it was that they would tell me. After unpacking, we understood that 3 instrument chests full of tools were also not sent, such as a table saw and work seat. In addition, one of our chests was started and someone decided it’d be cool to help themselves to our DSLR camera with lens, a classic camera out of my husband’s late night, and a set of Bose headset. We all know that this stuff was in there and everything else which wasn’t expensive remains firmly in the torso so that it was intentionally opened and rifled through! Some things are scraped, nearly all of my boxes seemed like they had been kicked down the staircase, 3 bowls were broken (in the box that the inspector packaged ), also there was a random box stuffed with a number of our items covered in paint. Really I am more worried about getting some type of retribution for my scraped flooring and lost/stolen products. There is no reason that I need to be paying 11 expansive rather than get each and every thing I have in pristine state.
I am currently hoping to submit a claim however their insurance is crap and I will probably require a lawyer to find a cent from these thieves.
BEWARE of the firm! BEWARE of Andy’s sweet-talking, he’s going to screw you too!
A1 Moving & Storage initially lent us to get our long distance move out of Massachusetts to Kansas at $6379.75. I mailed them a box count, and box dimensions, an extremely in depth stock, and images of all of our items. I took photos of every room and each and every item within it.
The evening prior to our scheduled movement , we ended up with 20 more poles, however I informed our moving planner, and he upgraded the machine, also it brought up our total to $7104.72. Additionally, we paid them $204.00 to package our 3 flat screen TVs along with our two floor lamps.
The whole movement proved to be a total nightmare. To start with, they could not match our stuff from the truck that they showed up with, and ended up needing to phone another person to come assist. They had no concept that they were assumed to package our TVs and lamps, and did not bring any stuff to achieve that. I had been advised that the 204 I paid was for particular materials. The forman took our additional UHaul boxes and then cut them around to package our TVs, asserting he understood exactly what he had been doing, and it had been much better than the boxes that they were supposed to deliver anyhow. In addition they never packaged our lamps. They simply recorded the strings. We did not find this out before our stuff has been unpacked.
Afterward , they brought us an additional $3440. We had been told our price wouldn’t change so long as our stock did not, which it did not. But at that stage , they had all we possessed in their trucks, and we needed to vacate our flat as our rental was finishing, therefore we had no option but to cover it.
The men who came to pack up our things seemed pleasant enough, but once I went outside, I found that they had abandoned all types of garbage throughout our front lawn. 1 man even left a open pop can on top my neighbor’s vehicle. I even made sure to request them to to take their garbage with them ahead because my husband and I had been paying for trash pickup. We had to pay extra for these.
Additionally, the planner I worked with swore up and down which A1 is a business, which means that the organization that selects your belongings is the identical firm that produces it. This is really a lie. They contracted a man to manage our stuff as soon as they packed this up and two local men to come and assist him complete everything.
After we watched our things being unloaded, our mouths actually fell open. Our items were manhandled. Several items were busted. Many boxes also had gotten wet. Boxes were also smashed. My box of CDs were riffled through, also a lot were overlooking. I’ve got pictures to back up this with too.
And, the worst aspect of all is that they struck up our $1200 flat screen TV that we PAID them to package. I had been told whatever that we paid them to package could be coated. However, when we registered with the claim, we just received $108. They also struck our sofa. Among those men who had been hired to unload our things really told us it seemed like somebody had dragged our sofa throughout the pavement.
I went with those men since they had any decent reviews on Google and Yelp, also that I enjoyed the planner I had been working with. I am really sad that we had been treated exactly the way we were and that A1 had so little regard to our things. My husband had only purchased that TV for a cure to himself for completing his instruction. He had been beaten that they broke it and only gave us $108 to this.
Please, if you don’t wish to get overcharged and your things broken and manhandled, then DO NOT employ these men.
Great support in the sales man Mr Hart into Ray and his crew.Everything moved extrimly smooth and fast, the pickup all the way into this delivery. All the furnitures were wrapped professionally and my 70″ TV. I received my things in two weeks Time.
Very recomended firm
I’d moving last week and obtained my things yesterday. To begin with, they attempt to gratify you and bill you in various ways. There were designed to bill according to cf but began charging based on amount of goods.
As soon as I obtained my stuff, nearly everything was damaged or broken. It’s apparent that they toss out things from truck , and didn’t move them.
They didn’t inform you about shipping period and they deliberately supply you with short note which they will be in your house in half an hour through work. Afterward , they will bill you for waiting period, or even storage.
Please don’t use their support, somebody ought to sue them and cease their services.
