    Long-distance move from Connecticut
    Fine but not without issues

Employed Movebuilder because it is the company my brand new job utilizes.   Nothing went horribly wrong, however I discovered them a bit hard to get information out of them.   There was supposed to be a”single point of contact”, but for me personally that”only” point shifted two, and it was not clear just how I was supposed to get ahold of these till they called me straight. I’d have a moderate difficulty on coming, in that the construction I had been moving into did not allow overnight parking to the truck.   The Movebuilder team (especially Angie) did a Fantastic job of fixing this by locating a”shuttle” service which could pick up our belongings in a smaller truck that didn’t need to remain overnight, and it just delayed dropoff by a single day.   It did cost more, but it had been inside my company’s allowance, therefore it wasn’t a severe Issue.   But I’d have enjoyed more advice by Movebuilder about the best way best to tackle this, since they kept asking *me* to scout out things in a town I had not even moved to however, rather than finding out of the local moving company.

    Worst moving company ever!!!

I bought a flight throughout the nation and took some time off work to come along and oversee the transfer. The movement was subsequently shifted in the last moment and that I managed to be there, squandering my flight expenditure and also my time off work.   The movers were quite rude and refused to load matters, and maintained that the truck was complete. They said that they would leave the remainder of my items outside and that I would not miss them! My neighbor needed to contact me personally and informed them that they wouldn’t be leaving my items out, and they’d need to discover a means to adapt the remainder of my possessions. Another truck was shipped and my items were all load. I was then informed that I would need to pay an inordinate quantity of money, since the movers didn’t perform their job properly.  If I had been there I’d have fired the business immediately and discovered somebody that would do the work correctly. When my items eventually came the truck has been started, to find that not only was that the truck less than 2/3 complete, they’d thrown my items from the vehicle! It seemed like they literally stood at the road and simply chucked my items into the rear of the vehicle. Everything was stacked at the top rather than neatly piled. As a result of this most of my items were broken involving glass at the vehicle. The base of the truck was moist so everything that touched on the base of the vehicle was moist, destroying a number of things. There’s also a huge blot in my bed, out of who knows what? Many useless items like my forehead and rake have been wrapped using an excessive quantities of paper, even while significant things like my really pricey desk had no wrap them around. A great deal of my furniture has been scraped. That is just desire I detected while placing things in storage. I am sure once I unpack my items the harm will be far more. Additionally, a number of the boxes which were clearly indicated brittle were thrown to the truck. This included items I have gathered from around the planet, that I’m not able to substitute. The supervisor came out and shot a couple photos, in addition to the movers, and so forth. I gave a few pictures to the supervisor. They are currently asking me to pay double what I had been quoted!  It does not look like I need to have to cover folks to ruin my items.  You need to visit a quiz and have them all load your items prior to going to go builder. I’ve moved many times and this can be actually the worse scenario ever! I Wouldn’t recommend this business to my worse enemy!

Move not without issue, but a great experience

While I had a number of problems with my expertise, I desired to write a positive review based on the way MoveBuilder managed it. My sales man spent considerable time on the telephone with me to attempt to develop the optimal solution for your own needs. According to neighborhood / township limitations, I managed to possess anything sit through the night. Nevertheless, they could think of the very best and most affordable alternative. The packaging team proved to be a mixed bag. They employ locally so it is not there folks. 1 man was fantastic but he’d hired what seemed to be two day laborers who was fairly dreadful. The pickup was timely and ABF saved our belongings for 5 weeks while we home hunted. When requested to be sent, they have been prompt and efficient. Upon shipping, it had been revealed that the truck had leaked along with a couple of boxes where moist, almost ruining some things inside. The packaging had also been badly done to get a couple items by the day laborers and there was considerable damage there. 1 thing which might have helped is that I paid the movers to pack and unload, which meant what was insured through the transfer, however long it had been saved. I had 9 months to claim damages and that I did not submit it before 8.5 months went by. The replacement price for all damaged items was projected I’d like to be 2900. I inquired for $875, largely because not every thing was destroyed entirely, nor was everything brand new as it had been ruined. MoveBuilder accepted with assert without question, gave no resistance for my own claim, and needed a test in the mail in under a week. Reading other reviews, I believe there have been problems with all the movers themselves and sadly I think that occurs when companies outsource the labour (which many do). My principal concern was if the company stands by their own job and at least in my situation, they did. I would have no reservations with them again. They were hands down the least expensive option available (by far) and they paid me fairly for their errors.

    Great experience with MoveBuilders

Everything was completed easily and professionally. Moving is stressful, also MoveBuilders assisted create it much less so. They were flexible and responsive, constantly available by telephone. We’re extremely satisfied with our out-of-state movement in the midst of the winter! It snowed about the day we moved in, along with the temperature has been below 20 degrees, however, also the movers did a fantastic job. A wonderful group of folks — at Berkeley, in the primary office by telephone, also at Santa Fe. We highly urge MoveBuilders.

    Horrible experience

I had been quoted 5200 and has been billed 7300 which they took from my accounts without moving over it first. We moved a three bedroom house with 2.5 baths and they just needed to package furniture in 1 bedroom since one area was vacant and marketed another bedroom place into the buyers. My wife packed each of the baths except towels along with the living area. They stated they needed to use twice check the materials quoted. They brand new owners phoned me and explained the trailer was still sitting there 7 days following the loading whenever the trailer came we’d only had two inches of snow the day before since its Missouri at the midst of winter. The unloaders didn’t need to unload due to the snow, and so I spent an hour arguing with his impolite [EDIT] along with the moving business on the telephone sot they did not get started until later 2pm since they were two hours late to start with. Clearly they did not complete that day therefore they said they’d find me in the daytime. They revealed at 2pm  the following day to complete. My office desk looked like they pitched it from this truck, my idle boy had a tear in it, plus we all had to contend with them to have a sofa to the next floor. When I call to inform them, they stated they’d send out a claim form outside for me personally to complete and they’d INVESTIGATE it. They shipped me in a email, now I received my personal computer unpacked and hooked up and also discovered it together with a last receipt that revealed they billed my account for yet another 155.00 without saying a word for me and that account they billed was my previous bank accounts at Oklahoma which had hardly any money in it, so today I must cover a overdraft charge. Unpacking is not any pleasure, I now know the reason why they used a lot of stuff. They literally packaged one lamp color in a moderate box having enough wrapping paper to wrap around a seat in. They packaged two pairs of plastic 3d glasses in the theatre in wrapping paper, so that is only an example. This was a night mare. DO NOT USE THEM. They’re a rip off.

    Packing/damage

I believed I would save yourself money utilizing movebuilder, and it seemed like it depending on the quotation. But, it didn’t turn out this way whatsoever.  I purchased a single trailer. My stuff might match. I compensated movebuilder to supply loaders and unloaders. The loaders did a horrible, laborious occupation and were really slow. They didn’t pack snugly, leaving a massive empty area in the upper half of their trailer at the mddle of this vehicle. They didn’t load the one thing which I couldn’t manage, a two part china cupboard. Due to the bad loading endeavor, everything didn’t match. I needed to purchase a separate trailer, which postponed the movement and added considerably to the price tag. The second trailer just stuffed 8 or 9 ft and has been loosely packed; the china cupboard, lamps, and a bike, and a couple more items. Due to the loose packaging job in the two trailers, things changed in transit, resulting in harm to several things, such as the very costly china cupboard. On arrival, I had been amazed in the clutter at the vehicle. The unloading crew, compared to the loading team, was quite professional and proficient. They stated it had been among the worst packaging jobs they’d struck and that everything ought to have inserted into a single trailer had it had been packaged correctly. They took photos because they unloaded to demonstrate that the wreck. I whined about the inadequate packaging job and the additional cost and delay for no avail. While I placed in my harm maintain , they refused to pay the china cupboard damage due to past damage, despite the fact that the harm done (and maintained ) inside this movement had nothing related to any previous scratches which might have been there. The movebuilder representative asserts that when something is damaged, then it isn’t insured for the transfer. Basically, in case it had a slight scratch before the transfer, they might lose it off the rear of the vehicle and let it dip down the street, send the bits to me and also deny my damage case. Not a really consumer-friendly policy. So in the long run, the facet that disturbs me the most is that it cost me an additional few thousand dollars to get another trailer to get a couple things since the loading team was of inferior quality.

    Problems all around

It was a tragedy from the day that they showed up to package. I hired them to package the huge material and haul everything out of CA to NY. I had been told they’d fall off a preview and the next day that the packers would appear and package everything over fourteen days. This seemed great since my husband was out of town and that I had been packaging myself with the support of a couple friends. They revealed and did a pretty fantastic job on day one. Afterward informed me that they were just coming the 1 day. I was shocked since they revealed a day early and I was not almost done packing the boxes up.  I called and had an arguement with my planner who eventually scheduled the next day and stated there could be one guy replaced. They actually put me through the ringer and that I was tired and stressed out from the close of the telephone call. I then needed to stay up all night and complete packing those boxes. The following day once the team revealed, the guy who was not there was the best person on the team. The new guy had no clue on how to correctly package the trailer. He did not visit the ceiling with boxes in addition to furniture. He set my 7,000 buck temperpedic mattress in there with no boxing it and then he set it in bent in half! Luckly I found it and made them tear it, however they wouldnt box it or lay it on top apartment, the boxing was still in my own contract.  Their was a lot of space on top since they had not used each of the space. They ended, were going to leave before saying goodby once I went outside to check them on again. I was told that the truck was complete, but that I could definitely see that the top layer entirely empty. They’d abandoned so many things unpacked, my dining room table, a cupboard, roughly 30 packed boxes, along with lots of other parts of furniture. Enough that I needed to lease a u-haul and place everything in, receive my jeep fixed (that we weren’t likely to attract ).
On the opposite end, the men who unpacked the vehicle, failed to shut some of their wrap and put nothing in its appropriate location, what was abandoned in 1 area still wrapped up.  I’d paid 1,600 additional in order that they’d unwrap and place thing in their proper location!
Calling the planner did absolutely nothing, they billed my credit card 14,000 some thing rather than the first sum, they then billed an extra 200 something due to the next day for its packing movers!  I had been told that there would not be any charge. I called and called and was advised they’d repay, but it never occurred. I needed my own 1,600 backpack since the unpackers didn’t get exactly what I paid for, along with a refund of the additional 200 charge. The movebuilder planner agreed afterward, never did it. Nothing that I did got me a settlement. In addition to all that pressure, each package I unwrapped was dinged, broken, and legs had been broken off my classic desk and the two of my candle racks had broken thighs. Cabinets were broken, and glass shelves were also broken. It, nothing moved bankrupt, boxes had been bashed it had been a wreck.
Their answer to broken things was to complete a claim form, however, the claim form state you cannot fix that, just if somebody would like to come outside to view it in person. I can not have a home for 6 weeks full of broken things, who would?
I won’t ever use them again, and now I won’t ever recommend them, and IF anybody I hear of is using them, I will inform them to RUN while they still can!

    DO NOT USE MOVEBUILDER

Never use MoveBuilder.   Movers have been late, lazy and didn’t pack truck nicely.   I Wasn’t fine with the Amount of feet utilized from the loaders (that was two feet over the large estimate given when I reserved together with ABF).   When I attempted to talk about this problem with my proceed supervisor, I had been told that she wasn’t able to deal with that issue and that I had to file a claim report and then I could talk All my problems with the relocation.   When things reached destination the vehicle was at an absolute disarray.   Things looked like they’d been thrown from a wall of mattresses.   Things were broken, and furniture had been ruined, boxes were moist, things were stolen/missing, and many boxes were severely damaged.   I instantly called my relocation supervisor, again same Reaction.   I must file a claim form and then deal with problems.   Thus, I registered my claim type for lost, damaged and broken things.   However, the claims supervisor told me that they Couldn’t assist me with my problems of ft utilized and solutions that the unloaders didn’t supply.   – unloaders Should unload and put furniture, eliminate all debris and paper and build furniture items.   My unloaders did unload the truck.   That’s all.   When I asked them concerning the newspaper debirs they advised me that they didn’t understand that was anticipated and didn’t come ready to handle the paper. I again called my move supervisor.   Who advised me that They’d Find the unloaders to Return inside the day and remove the debris.   No reply.   Nobody came to Look after the debris.   My asserts manager also moved my advice into a different section in the company.   This section was designed to contact me seeing my disputes regarding toes utilized and solutions which were never obtained. They never did, so I contacted them.   They’re claiming there’s nothing They Can do concerning these issues.   Why am I paying for services that I didn’t get out of the unloaders?   And why am I paying for additional feet used, Due to the bad quality where the truck was packaged?   In general, this was a dreadful experience. I Won’t Ever use MoveBuilder or ABF (due to the affiliation with MoveBuilder) again.   I expect that nobody else will either. This complany Doesn’t have to be in company.

    USE AT OWN RISK!

I hired Movebuilder to move any furniture out of my NYC Apartment for my brothers dwelling out of Atlanta. Because their trucks aren’t permitted in Manhattan, proceed builder hires third party movers to transport the things to some shuttle truck that subsequently take the things out of the city into the bigger truck that’s hauling the furniture. The movers wrapped up the furniture and required off-I flew into Atlanta and was there when the truck came. The movers who movebuilder hired put the furniture to the truck incorrect so that they moved around inducing the plastic and paper wrap to burn. The truck was SO EXTREMELY dirty that each of the furniture has been totally ruined! I registered a claim for the damaged stuff and months afterwards eventually received a response I would be getting 156 bucks for my tens of thousands of dollars in damage since I didn’t buy additional insurance! They also said they’d try to possess the things cleaned but entirely ignored me after I told them that I already had a specialist cleaner appearance at them and had been told there’s not any way it may be cleaned on account of the substance and just how heavy the stains had been. (Furniture is whitened ) I had been medicated HORRIBLY by Lisa Granberry who’s the claims manager, and so I contacted a lawyer and afterwards was contacted with a corporate lawyer (Barney Long) in Arkansas Best Corporation(Company who possesses Movebuilder) who informed me all questions or mails required to proceed through him, not Lisa. So, I started asking him questions and he’s totally ignored me! My main issue is: If your company conscious callers which the trucks aren’t washed on a regular basis and that buying the excess insurance might be worth your time? I was never told that I had an alternative for additional insurance and wasn’t alerted that the movers that they employ are horrible and that the trucks that they use are totally dirty! This firm can care less that I’m out 2500 bucks to get a transfer that was a total waste of time or that I am out tens of thousands of bucks within furniture-They could frankly care less and it’s extremely sad that I’ve been treated how I have-It isn’t fair. I strongly suggest you do NOT use this organization and in case you have any queries or would love to find some of this correspondence between myself and Mr. Long or even Ms. Granberry, then please don’t hestitate to reach me out.

I’ve not managed a worse customer support in my entire life.  The sum of additional cost and total indifference from this dreadful firm have made my transfer a living hell.  Under no circumstances should you employ or hope this organization.  They’re con artists of the maximum degree.  Only hire the moving company and storage center yourself and get round the absurd hidden charges and filthy con artists which are this organization.

    Don't use Move Builder

Poor business practices!   Bad communication.   They’ll charge your card without even letting you know when, how or why much.   They Simply charge it.   No invoicing.   Communication is at all.   You Need to contact them, always!   They’re a third party used by ABF.   The driver did a Fantastic job.   Even the packers did a Great job.   The unloaders did a Fantastic job.   The Issue is using the Transfer Builder office at in 3801 Old Greenwood Road Ft. Smith, AR 72917.   I recomend cutting out the middle person, possess the ABF trailer/container dilivered, locate your personal loading and moving company, not cope with Move Builder all together.
