On Oct. 29, 2016, the proprietor of Freedom Moving, Tyler John Hood, arrived at our house with two of his workers and also helped us move into our new residence. Upon further review my wife understood that her jewellery, credit cards, and other precious items have been gone. We contacted the owner and he immediately responded by stating that he’d return all things and do anything possible to make things right. A month after the movement we found that a number of the things that was returned were missing or damaged components (broken gold bracelets with missing connections, dented refrigerator door, scratched/broken furniture) and we also realized that things were missing out of our garage (power tools, two brand new washer hoses, fresh moving belts ). Tyler was advised by text, but he was exposed to our scenario by first denying that anything was stolen and then stating that it had been too late to assert any reductions (one month later ). Finally, Tyler refused to help us whatsoever and refused us the right to get an insurance claim form.
We contested the charges on the credit card which we used to pay for his services and he reacted by alerting us and referring to us as scams, thieves, liars and con artists.
At this juncture we’re requesting a settlement of $1,100 (the gap between the charge to repair/replace damaged/stolen things ($2,000) and that which was billed for the support (-$700)).
Our advice for anyone reading this review is to ensure that you maintain a listing of any precious things in your house and do not trust anybody, even when they’ve five star reviews on Yelp.
Furthermore, if that has occurred to you, you’ve got 9 months to file a claim with the organization’s insurance. You should continue to keep all of the damaged items and report any theft to the appropriate authorities (police, public utilities commission) when possible.
