If you are considering employing a different inspector, stop wasting your own time. I would like to personally thank Florin and his group (Vlad, Naji and Taaiq) to his or her aid. On April 19th, a team from Empire Movers, Bronx, New York, moved me by a apartment on the UES to a in lower Manhattan at Peter Cooper Village. The signed agreement said my present apartment was a 4th floor walkup and also my brand new flat was in an elevator construction. I paid a commission for the flat being a wander up requiring extra effort from the moving team. The arrangement was that I’d pack everything that needed boxing. Empire also supplied some boxes for clothing hanging in closets in addition to mirror boxes.  It was a straight forward movement and I’d already moved all of the breakables, lamps and bigger things.
The team was supposed to give me a numbered stock of what transferred. They didn’t.
Since the team was finishing the movement from this walk-up, I had been faced by them and needed to pay them extra money for the walk-up problem in addition to a hint that I had intended on committing them.  I couldn’t hit Omar Rodruiguez so billed my card on file or else they wouldn’t have finished the transfer. They told me whether he consented to it, they’d repay the extra $ after the transfer. Once they moved everything in my new flat and left, I did a stock check and discovered I was missing a classic lamp table — a prized family heirloom. I instantly informed Empire of the reduction. I was planning to transfer the table myself but they insisted on placing it into a moving box (I don’t understand why they did this ) and placing it on the truck. They’ve never discovered it.
I’ve spent hours on the telephone or in email with Empire talking the lost table in addition to that the overcharge of $90 and the further hint that the moving team needed.

So far, no refund was created or retribution for my lost table. This organization is unreliable, and doesn’t control its crews that seem to steal both furniture and money. They don’t stand behind their own contracts, written or verbal, and are extremely tricky to achieve with issues or problems similar to this.
What started out as a relatively uncomplicated move become a nightmare.
I haven’t taken them to court, but’m still contemplating it.
