    Long-distance move from Summerville, SC
    DALE J. COOK Movers

AWESOME COMPANY!!! We had the ideal packing’n’ moving encounter for this group of specialists! By Karen, that arrived to bidding the transfer –and her sending boxes to us–to the fantastic staff which did the over-sized packaging, the group that moved us from one house and the staff that moved us to our new house –can’t say enough EXCELLENT items about them all!! They have been timely, comprehensive, professional–and so personable and enjoyable to get through that stressful time! We’re grateful that we were known to them!! Henry & Jeannie Z

    Long-distance move from South Carolina
    Worst experience

I wish I could give them less than one star. I’ve moved 4 times with all the army and this has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. I truly don’t know where to start. To start with, they did a dreadful job packaging. Nothing obtained tagged correctly they simply threw whatever they discovered and called the box something generic. I only have 15 boxes stating garage sitting there not knowing what’s inside them. And of course that each one of the boxes that they introduced to pack my things were all used, which I could understand, the issue is that they did’t erase the former information so then I had a lot of boxes along with other previous names and tagged incorrectly. They also ran from the used boxes therefore lots of my things wasn’t packed at all so that they left a lot of hardware round and today I’m having difficulty putting together my furniture in my new residence. Another difficulty I ran into was I’d overflow on the truck therefore Dale J Cook needed to save my extra stuff before the other truck picked it up and they pulled everything in their truck without any boxes or wrap it and the majority of my things that had been placed in that storage arrived ruined. Two shelves only collapsed when they got off the truck and shattered to bits, they chipped off the wood of a lot of my furniture and ruined other products. Again, I had a good deal of adventures with movers and this has become the absolute worst.

Failure to remedy damages in move

My Moving Experience With Dale J. Cook/Stevens

The man who offered me the encounter was cordial and convincing of what a fantastic firm Dale J. Cook is for my own move.  She’d convince me that I need to pay them to package all worth which I need to buy $600 of insurance,”in the event.” She couldn’t have been more incorrect.  Following is list of a Few of the motives:

    1.   I especially pointed out to a few of those girls 2 times that I had two purchasing bags of Christopher Radco decorations which had a start price of $100 each and that each decoration required to be wrapped individually and packaged securely.  They arrived at my destination at precisely the exact same shopping bags with zero wrap dropped to a mailbox.
    2.   I’ve a bit of hand-painted classic slate in the roof of a home in Charleston which has been also dropped to a wardrobe box along with a thick camera tripod without a wrap around it.
    3.   Rush, not maintenance, was that the title of this sport in loading and packaging. I stopped one excursion down the staircase in which a steel bookshelf has been trashed throughout the ceiling instead that disassembling it.
    4.   I proceeded upstairs at the same stage of loading to come across yellow paint in the wall throughout the ground.  The corner of a wall has been so smashed in that the fix man they shipped within another morning (prior to my closing walk-through of my purchasers ) stated that it had the metallic corner replaced and at least 2 parts of sheetrock.  The pit was due to somebody afterwards explained to me as”a man who occasionally enjoys to showoff””falling” the headboard of my bed to the wall. The Wesley Allen Queen Size Iron Bed currently had yellowish paint embedded at the headboard! No one said to me before my finding it myself that it was completed.
    5.   When they left in the close of the afternoon a sword was dangling off the fan from the dining area.  Again, nobody said that they had ripped up the enthusiast.
    6.   The ceiling all along the stairwell needed the paint defeated from it from all of the times furniture and boxes was scrubbed up from it.
    7.   There’d been a half dozen cokes from the fridge when they came.  They were all missing if the moving team abandoned.  I’d have happily given them one had they requested, but because nobody did, on the planet that’s called stealing.
    8.   A iron quilt rack needed for a while been disassembled for its transfer.  They could not get it back with them, but broke it while still attempting. It had been abandoned in pieces all around the ground as the previous man hurried into the truck telling me to”turn it in.”
    9.   I moved to a 4700 square foot, 3-story property.  I couldn’t see and test out each and every bit of furniture which has been conducted off the truck — again the order of the afternoon was HURRY! I’d ask the motorist as well as the receptionist/secretary in Dale J. Cook just how long that I needed to come from my claim.  Both folks explained that I had 9 weeks.  DO NOT BELIEVE THAT!! In actuality, now I have a promise on a stool which was concealed behind a 3 heavy, bigger than my thoughts wall of boxes, so I’m advised I needed to turn it in before the driver abandoned!
    10.                 Since I started to unpack boxes, so I couldn’t believe my eyes.  I’d 4 image boxes which had two or more paintings inside them together with the front of a jammed up from the rear of another with no single bit of paper in between or about them.   Hence, the screws and hanging cable on a single bit scooped up contrary to the one supporting it that the whole move. Obviously , the frames were ruined beyond use.  Contained in one of these boxes was a bit of art that had been a mirror encircle.  The”Penny” holding the pottery in was pumped out all over the borders.
    11.                 We’d bought a signed vase over a visit to Albuquerque.  It had been chipped.
    12.                 Even a Drexel Heritage lingerie chest features a massive dent at the upper border.  I’ve asked of somebody who hand constructed my dining room table along with my brand new cabinets when it might be adjusted.  He explained that it couldn’t be adjusted to its initial condition.
    13.                 I’d have a framed picture of my mother-in-law together with her sisters if she was a kid.  As they’ve all passed off, it was invaluable to people.  It had been displayed in addition to my wardrobe in the master bedroom.  It ought to have been packaged with Dale J. Stevens and proceeded here.  After unpacking all of my boxes, it’s nowhere available.  I reported it to them.  Their only answer was that they do not understand exactly what happened to it!
    14.                 It says within their revenue packet which they will pay you $100 when they harm your home.  They did lots of harm to my residence! They didn’t cover anything.

This movement cost me nearly $12,000 such as the 600 for insurance to safeguard if they ruined anything. I’ve lived in seven states so I have moved a great deal. I’ve not previously permitted the movers to pack my items and’ve consistently done itself.  I’ve not ever needed anything broken. Neither have I had my home torn up with other big or small moving businesses. I’ve now turned into my promise for all of the harm done and anticipated to be compensated for this.  The”inspector” that they delivered over was here with a Little cheap camera for a lot of 10 seconds!   Then in depth evaluation and with the Support of all eBaby, this is what I had been permitted:
    1. Quilt Rack: Claimed $100 — Expecting $0
Denied liability because it had already been repaired. I’d have it welded back together so that I could put my quilts placed someplace, but the fix looks horrible and there’s not any denying that they ripped this up!
    2. Four framed Paintings which had custom framing.  I’d already priced it so that I understood the number to maintain. I’d promised $700.  Expecting for”fix” $195.  Where can one go to find a framework”fixed”?
    3. A framed painting that they chose the harm was not done from the transfer.  Claimed $150 — Expecting $0
    4. About the Framed Mirror they chose,”the filler to the pottery framework had dropped outside. This isn’t transit related.” Claimed $100 — Expecting $0
    5. Pottery Vase — They did”study” on eBay and saw one for about $35.99. I’d promised $75.  It probably cost me over the 35 to send it, as I did not purchase it on eBay!
    6. The Drexel Heritage Lingerie Chest I’d promised $1880 to substitute as I’d been advised that it couldn’t be fixed.  They enabled $150 to fix.
    7. The Wesley Allen Bed that’d ripped up a wall”was refused since it had several preexisting paint chips on both the headboard and footboard.”  The mattress was desperate! It turned out to be a brand new mattress which has been at a guest bedroom which had likely not been used over 25 occasions! It, nevertheless, didn’t possess yellow paint to the snowy mattress!! They totally know that they are liable for it since they needed to fix the yellowish wall!  Claimed $716 (The shop where I bought it still has it on document at which I Purchased it) Expecting – $0
    8. Bar Stool which was concealed behind boxes –they refuse all accountability because I did not turn it in at shipping! Claimed $200- Expecting $0

Apparently they even have a record of these reasons that they use to reject promises plus they simply select one per item that a individual turns in!

I’ve called both Dale J. Cook and Stevens Worldwide Van Lines at Saginaw, MI to Attempt to Speak to them in their companies.  Neither will return my phone.

Please don’t use both of those companies that you care for your own home or your possessions!

Dale J Cook Moving and Storage

This firm made a cross city go for us and we couldn’t be happier. The true price was very close to exactly what the sales woman estimated. The team was courteous and professional and didn’t harm any of our things. They’re also very careful to not hurt either home. We also had them shop a few precious antique furniture to get a period and it was managed carefully and delivered in excellent form! I strongly recommend this provider!

    Damaged items and increased cost

Had them quote a local relocation.   The Man who estimated the movement promised that Fantastic care could be obtained for all things with less boxes needed since It’s a local movement.   Many things could be wrapped in blankets, and our linens could be put into drawers or packed into reserve cases.   The Whole movement with packaging and all was estimated to be just over $1800.   We were also told that when we packaged a Number of the unbreakable things ourselves like novels, etc, it’d save us money.   We packaged the Whole kitchen, the Majority of the garage, the Majority of the workplace and the Majority of the toilet things.   There was little left to be packaged. Our packaging bill was just the same as what was projected despite All our packaging.   Our packaging bill was run them up packaging All our valuables in boxes Instead of placing them in closets.   On moving day, they totally ruined my filing cabinet and gouged our bedroom dresser.   They said they’d do nothing regarding the filing cabinet because its value would collapse under the $250 deductible, which I Wasn’t advised of before the transfer.   I am astonished that we did not discover more broken items since they were always dropping things. They hurried up the whole transfer charge yet another $400 within the quote since they whined that our drive was overly long. Beware of the company.   They can definitely lure you with their quote and promises, however They Don’t provide what they promise and they Don’t do anything about harm.   This past Year we did a transfer nationwide with another firm with No harm and no billing Problems.   This neighborhood move by Dale J Cook inside a few blocks led to broken things and a great deal of complaints by the movers of just how thick the things are.

    Long-distance move from South Carolina
Damaged property refused to make it right

I hired Dale Cook Stevens to expertly package my POD along with my condo contents. I supplied 4 vases to wrap my pottery barn couch that they didn’t use to securely package the couch. Cook movers poked holes at the bottom of the couch, made two big scuff marks on the top of the couch, and gouged a 4 inch complete from the seating section of their couch. They refused to compensate me for the damage to my house suggesting,”we packaged the POD and that’s what we had been hired to perform.” I hired professional movers to pack my own possessions in a secure fashion, however I did not get exactly what I paid for. After the POD was unpacked, my movers asked me why I did not possess the POD professionally packaged! Do not use this business, they didn’t offer the support that I paid $595 for.
