I had been looking for a plumber for a few of weeks, I got estimates from 4 movers, so a few mover gave me quite low estimates which I did not even think. I speak to Chester County and I told me everything up front, even though their quotation was much higher then the others. I went with them because I did not want any surprises on moving day! On the afternoon of my movement the team came at the scheduled period between 9 & 10. The worked hard all day, got us in our brand new place without any issues. The move came beneath the price I had been quoted, I was so happy I tipped the men the gap in the purchase price.
If I could provide a negative celebrities review I’d. The first thing first NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOU. We had a record of 7am-9am to our movers to appear. I got a call in the office at 9am I want to know that they would be late. Ummmm they sort of already ARE overdue perfect? The girl was incredibly rude and not helpful. 10am, 11am, 12pm rolls round that I call the office and also the girl hangs me up. This isn’t even the worst aspect of this narrative it becomes waaaaay better! So at 1pm that a enormous white truck with a dent at the front along with a white piece of paper home taped into the passenger side door with Chester County bursting composed in black sharpie. I knew then this wasn’t likely to move well. When booking I especially requested the movers deliver booties to wear since we’ve got white carpets. No more booties. Therefore I figure out to home depot for some. At each turn I must beg these men to really use their booties. It was raining out and they kept comming in and outside of the home refusing to put on the shoe covers. They ruined the rugs in the townhouse and obtained a massive mud stain on the rug of their new property. However, it gets better…. They were able to ruin 1 seat , two headboards, 1 nightstand, 1 end table and place a enormous gash at the surface of a 5k table! We said they showed up at 1pm… late night. .but needed 4 movers to transfer a three bedroom 2 bath + workplace townhome. Precisely what time they abandoned the new home?? 6am!! Yes people 6am and they didn’t even get everything from the old location. We needed to employ College Hunks another evening to move the remainder of the material and move the sofa from the cellar that they stated that they were not able to work out how to put up the staircase. Guess what? 3 young guys guessed it out.but what I forgot to tell you is that at 4am among these gets the guts to approach me and ask if I would mind exercising to receive one of those other men some smokes? Really?? So eventually 6am rolls around and the chief of this team informs me that they left their own dolly at the garage in the other home and when I can drive around there to receive it for him. My fiance said no and that we would get it for them this week. Then he proceed to inform us that we’d be billed $300 for your dolly rather than provided a charge for some of the harms of people didnt go buy it as they wanted it to get their second job. So I drove on to the old home at 6am from courtesy because they didn’t have a different occupation at 7am. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They’re slow, in their mobiles all day rather than working. They dont care for your possessions and they certainly dont care for being on time. Absolutely AWFUL!!!
As soon as I began searching for a mover for my new house, I’d obtained at least seven distinct estimates and Chester County Moving and Storage has been the least expensive and that I was also told that they would disassemble, wrap and then reassemble all of my furniture that I thought was a fantastic support. I had been provided a time-fame of 7 hours for transferring along with 11/2 hours of drive time (it is 50 minutes between the 2 stops) Once I clarified to Jessica that all of my possessions were in 1 location in my friends’ cellar and had already been disassembled and largely wrapped, she suggested that the project would likely have a whole lot less time at that case and that I would be billed just for the time employed. I also told me I had a halt in a storage bin initially and she explained that despite that, I must expect less than the quote on time since all my possessions were prepared to go and at 1 space. I really don’t know when I will eventually understand that you get exactly what you pay for.
For starters, I had been given a coming time between 9-10 a.m. I got a call around 9:30 in which they said that they had been running about an hour outside. They came at 11:00 and said that it was since the truck had broken down and needed to be repaired. Fine, not a massive deal- but they also told me that the elevator to the rear of the truck was also broken. This was be a massive deal since it took two of the four guys the whole transfer time to focus on getting the things off and on the truck- so that I basically only had two actively moving items. Following three hours- which was so much more than anticipated (I have never noticed movers not use a dolly to take numerous boxes until….they transported them one by one) they advised me that the truck was full and they weren’t able to match the things going to storage. I said to them that when I moved from Chicago to West Grove just 5 months before I got everything at a 26 feet Uhaul they stated that their truck was just 24 feet and that has to be why. I had to scramble around trying to spot which things I could leave behind. Now, I must return again with a different Uhaul and cover more movers to the things I needed to leave and pay off a couple more hundred dollars in cost.
They left West Grove in 2:05 p.m. and stated they’d meet me in the home and were likely stopping to get something to eat. I waited to depart because I did not need to take a seat at a vacant house until they came so we got to the street at 2:30. In 3:10 they called and asked where I had been. I advised them I was still 20 minutes away and inquired if they were planning to find something to eat and he explained. As soon as I arrived at about 2:40, they had been standing around smoking and informed me that they did not stop to find something to eat since they had been running low on time and did not need me to need to pay more. That confused me since the clock must stop if they are getting lunch. Either way however, I felt awful so I offered to get them McDonalds. I drove to McDonalds and Walgreens (since they brought nothing with them to drink) for waters and invested roughly $40. As soon as I brought it all back, they stood out and took an extra 20 minutes to consume so that I actually did not know how they had been”saving me time”. They eventually got to work around 3:30 and said I had until 6:15 for this to be performed and that I had seriously underestimated the amount of boxes I’d (I’d quoted 60 and I am pretty certain I did not have much more than this ) but he explained that we should continue to be alright and I would just be billed the quote. In addition, he explained that the driveway time took more than allocated and that he had been”putting me up” by not charging additional. (They left at 2:05 and telephoned me in 3:10 inquiring where I had been….so not certain how it took more than a hour and a half.)
I again only saw 2 from the four movers and only 1 was actively moving down and up the staircase. After some time they explained that not one of my dressers were planning to match upstairs in the sack. They did attempt to match a few different kinds, but gave up when they did not match the initial way they attempted it. They told me initially that nothing was likely to match upstairs due to the bannister and it took my girl figuring out that she would remove it until they were even ready to attempt. As the afternoon wore on, the foreman kept telling me that they had been running short on time and wished to learn if they could only put all of the boxes in 1 spot for today and then return if they were completed and determine where they had been on time. I consented”for today” but clarified that I’ve sciatica and back problems and my daughter can not lift everything on her own, so that I actually needed everything which belonged upstairs to get there. The mover going down and up the most was quite agreeable originally, but as the afternoon wore on, he kept whining increasingly and speaking about how he has never had a work so challenging (I transferred in an 1100 sq feet house with 2 flights of stairs), and began to get really cranky when contested. As soon as I discovered a couple of boxes which stated”bedroom” in the downstairs hallway, he dismissed me when I asked him to take them upstairs. They took many fractures. The foreman then informs me that he did not know why I had been told that they would assemble anything since they do not build anything that they personally didn’t dissemble. (Even when I inquired if they’d tools for the meeting back in West Grove he advised me that they did and never said anything about it being a problem ). They explained they could not get my bedframe upstairs since they did not possess an allen wrench (however I believed they had the fundamental tools for meeting of household things ). They waited until the end to bring in nearly all of the furniture, which I thought was rather backward because there were boxes in the manner and they were already complaining how exhausted and in pain they had been. The foreman kept saying they’d be accomplished by the deadline, however they still had tons of things out by then and he charged me an additional hour and a half when all was said and done. Before they left, I did a walk through and found that almost everything which was supposed to move upstairs in the bedrooms were sitting at the dining and living area. When I brought up that they had to deliver it upstairs as agreed, they said”no, we’re done”. I can’t move around in either room since there’s so much things that should have gone upstairs. There was an external metallic table designed to proceed to the porch, so they told me without measuring that it would not match and refused to deliver this up. As soon as I told them that they could not abandon it on the front yard, they dismissed me so my daughter needed to drag it around on the side porch for storage. Btw, it will match. I didn’t even find the complete scope of how small they really did before after they left that is the reason why I really tipped them (since I tip).
Couple of things- I know I might have underestimated the amount of boxes. But, my possessions were still all in 1 area and already wrapped and disassembled. And it still took them 3 hours to load. How long could it have taken them whether it was a normal home with stuff in each room (such as numerous degrees ).
I hired three movers from a connection on the uhaul site to load back the truck in Chicago and it just took them two hours and it all fit.
The stairs at the home are narrow and steep since the home is old. But, I have had worse motions with third floor flats etc in the past and it was not a problem.
Putting the things in and carrying them out with no loading elevator took FOREVER.
The allocated driveway time was an hour and half an hour, it required they a hour and 5, that could render me owed 20 mins. They then stumbled around for another 20 eating the food that I purchased them.
I’ve attempted to call numerous times since then to provide them an opportunity to make it right, and they won’t phone me back.
My teenage daughter that weights 100 pounds has needed to consume night stands, a fake fireplace, enormous heavy suitcases, wrapped carpeting along with a slew of boxes up the stairs by herself since I can’t help her. Why hire professional movers to wind up needing to do all that yourself?
Again, how did it wind up taking 8 and 1/2 hours to perform this a little house when we did not even wind up heading to storage?
I concur with another reviewer, I believe they pull people in using the lowest quote and then manipulate the situation to secure more. I have also never coped with movers that informed me, point blank that they were completed and were leaving before the project was complete. I feel exceptionally misled and over billed and clearly the company doesn’t have any desire to attempt and make this appropriate. Proceed with someone else a bit more expensive with great reviews. You will be happy you did.
I proceeded with this organization and I have to say that the experience with exceptional. My transfer was a last minute go because the other firm didn’t devote the cost nor time period that they were suspect to transfer me in. I had been in a panic to say the very least. But once I contacted Chester County Moving and Storage, the young woman I talked with was quite friendly and faked me with all my requirements. I needed to depart this review since I was stuck in a rush and they really came through.
They transferred me in West Chester to New York, on Sunday after a second firm, whose title I wont mention currently. Left me stranded, without a movers showing up. I predicted Chester County Movers, they had been much greater. They packed, moved and sent me the exact same moment. I tipped the men $100 each!
If I could leave less than 1 star I would. THIS COMPANY IS HORRENDOUS. I would advise getting another provider even if it’s a bit more expensive. They attempt to get you by providing lower costs however they showed up 3 hours late and gave no warning they wouldn’t be coming within the contract coming time. Furthermore, after almost 20 mobiles calls to the main office (all dismissed or unanswered) somebody called back and said they’d be just another 40 minutes prior to coming.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Terrible experience, little to no trace up and NO liability. You get exactly what you pay for, which overall has been a poor shifting experience and no liability after the actuality. It required 3 movers 3.5 hours to wrap and load just furniture to the truck. They were going very slow during the wrap and loading procedure, there even times when two of those men appeared to be standing around or seeing one man shrink wrap furniture. After the movers believed they had all loaded they made a decision to shut the truck and get prepared to leave the home. My husband stopped them and asked them why they did not take some of those additional things and in which they informed me that I told them that they did not need to move those items, that was not the situation. Because they had been so slow moving my husband did not wish to request them to return at the house to find the other things because he did not wish to wait around for them no more to complete loading the truck. My husband confirmed together until they left that they had the right address and they didn’t. After the movers came to our new home we walked through and that I told them where we needed the furniture installation. They insisted that our sole bed frame wouldn’t fit upstairs without even attempting, at this stage we were so disappointed that we told them we’d take action ourselves, which my husband managed to perform by himself. There was also a scrape on the hardwood flooring from them pushing the sofas across them. They also left a lot of empty tape rolls and shrink wrap rolls all around the house we moved from. I achieved to Chester County Movers about all these issues and nothing has been done. They analyzed my claim to get the scrape in the ground, but I had been told that the movers pointed out it to me and that I signed a record suggesting that I had been conscious that the scrape was preexisting, which it wasn’t. I’ve achieved two by email to request a copy of the record I signed and that I predicted, I still have not obtained a copy.
They perform with the bait and switch game. Do not listen to your requirements. Only sends what ever truck they’ve (& automobile is unmarked) – I used them for two movements and the two times that they low-balled pricing. And then wouldn’t unload before I paid them. Lady is workplace was dreadful, so impolite.
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! I’m moving in 3 times, and needed to locate a last-minute replacement since they were complete no-shows in my scheduled afternoon. They didn’t reveal, and they didn’t even bother to call and allow me to know they would not make it. Consequently, I need to have a day from work as a result of their overall incompetence. They aren’t open weekends (that for a moving firm boggles the brain alone ), therefore that I had no one to contact to test to find out if anybody was really coming. Their principal office number has a voicemail which has been too complete to leave a message, again inexcusable. After waiting for (4) hours and completely exasperated, I sent an email to their principal office, and didn’t obtain a response for an additional (3) hours, and it had been only to inform me that they didn’t have me scheduled. I had a written agreement with them to get the proper time and date, so the way I couldn’t have been scheduled is incomprehensible. Fortunately I managed to locate an individual last minute, however they left moving, which can be stressful enough when all goes right, 10 x stressful. Under no circumstances would I ever use this company, nor would I recommend them for whatever. I can’t emphasize enough how unprofessional and bad this provider is about each level.
I scheduled a movement with Jessica at the start of December. I believed that somebody came out to perform the quote, but I needed to compile an inventory over the telephone with her. After what seemed like forever I eventually agreed to put up things.
I am quite glad that I did! They arrived wrapped and in EVERYTHING in either blankets, or even boxes. The transferred at a speed that guaranteed that my possessions did not knock or rub against anything. The men were kind and respectful, and also asked where they had been permitted to have a smoke break. I couldn’t have been more happy with this load. The unload was a bit different. I saw them fight with obtaining the couch up the stairs and I felt awful because they didn’t need to give up.
While it took much more time to unload then they hoped I frankly could not whine of a things. I think that they had been worth every Penny I invested. I only wish I could have contributed Jessica a hint, for addressing my cranky supporting while she strove to put up things with me. I would suggest this place to anybody in the region moving.
From start to finish, our expertise with Chester County Transferring turned into a nightmare. Today marks two weeks since I last heard from Jessica, the supervisor who declared to me that she had been going to do anything it took to make things right. The week before our move, we obtained no verification and Jessica was unreachable by email or telephone, voicemail complete. We finally got a call the night before, at a dead panic after spending hours to obtain a back up movers and truck. The group was dumb and fought among themselves, with a single employee walking off the project. A couple of the movers were shipped residence en route to our new home and replacements were shipped. We were credited with 30 minutes later hours were squandered. While one mover brushed blankets, another five stood around and explained to us that we needed to cover blanket folding moment. To top it all off, my wife’s mobile phone was stolen and needed to be replaced to the tune of a few hundred bucks. This provider isn’t neighborhood; the movers arrive in from Philadelphia and have horrible attitudes. They used profanity at work also had no customer service skills at all. I can not state enough to warn you to steer clear of this business if you take care of your relocation.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! When planning my move, I obtained a quote from several moving companies such as from Jessica, office supervisor out of Chester County Moving and Storage. We had a conversation about me with 2 IKEA beds along with an IKEA cabinet which would need a high amount of disassembly and reassembly. Jessica promised me that their movers are experienced and do this very effectively all of the time. She explained I would need to sign a waiver since that type of furniture isn’t meant to be put together over once, but that it was only a formality since they’d only ever had one problem with a bit of furniture not heading back together properly. Following this dialog, Jessica gave me a quote that it might take 3 hours of work (4 hours total including the compulsory 1 hour of traveling time) with 4 movers. I afterwards discovered that this is the smallest time that firms are permitted to estimate and that it was probably fraud so as to receive my bidding. The nightmare started when Jessica got the date wrong and started sending me multiple mails and telephone calls per month early while I was out of country on holiday, demanding I receive signed files to her that day. The real moving day has been even worse. The movers sauntered within an hour late and maintained that pace throughout the day. They were far from experienced and professional. Occasionally one could be taping something, and the others could stand there observing. One spent an hour locked in my toilet without so much as requesting to use it. They did not bring anything to drink, so we went into the shop and bought drinks for them. It took 5 hours for 4 guys to load up 19 items, and a few of the products were a bicycle, a mirror, etc.. After we got 1.5 miles into the new home, they kept my possessions hostage until I consented to pay over twice the quote I were awarded by Jessica (of notice, they did not even transfer everything I had recorded so it ought to have been less). I showed them that a type from Jessica that I had signed saying that the movers should deliver my possessions if I provide them the estimate and 10 percent (seemingly a government policy set in place to protect consumers from that specific situation). This could have enabled me to type it out throughout the following working day, however they refused to honor the arrangement. Because it was the weekend, they advised me that there was no one for me to phone to type it out before Monday. I caved into the extortion to be able to receive my things and get them going (they were still on the clock and would not unload before I paid). This time they estimated 7.5 hours full of work (250 percent the initial quote with more things that made me to select them) and added fees for supplies (Jessica had told me all supplies were included) for a total of nearly $600 over Jessica’s estimate. Once I paid off, they set the furniture haphazardly in my home, left garbage all over the area, such as in the road, refused to reassemble my furniture and left without finishing the job. They broke off the leg my dressing table. Screws necessary for reassemble for your furniture have been thrown on the ground, other hardware only lost. My jewelry box has been made with jewellery tumbling out on the ground. They could not locate the toes to my futon and said I need to just check round the old residence. When asked why they were not placing the furniture back together, they stated they were from period (they once again underestimated with 7.5 hours). They said I would have to cover them in money instantly for them to remain to reassemble the furniture (AKA complete the job they were hired to perform ). Because I do not carry that sort of money ($118/hour) and they would not allow me to rush into the ATM or have somebody bring it, there was not anything I could do in order to keep them from departing. Among those movers invested near an hour around the clock hoping to make me sign forms saying that what has been delivered in good shape, I’d obtained the services I’d asked for, and also the moving company shouldn’t cause the excess time that it took (ALL FALSE). Throughout the time that he had been harassing me about that, the other 3 men were doing nothing. When I phoned and emailed the workplace on Monday to attempt to sort out things, there wasn’t any response by telephone. I received an email reply from Jessica stating that I won’t be refunded as”You paid for a service which was left for you.” When I responded by email to state that I would like to clarify what occurred, she emailed that the movers had already told me what happened. When I stated that I’d love to avoid going to court and intended to write negative reviews on the internet, she stated I was blackmailing her and that they won’t speak with me any farther. She didn’t even acknowledge my record of this broken dressing table. Today I must take them to court to attempt and make them do what is appropriate. It’s a scam to provide a quote to get the cheapest possible hours permitted (understanding it’s going to take longer) to be able to hook company, then as soon as you’ve got the client’s possessions, induce the client to pay over twice what you’ve quoted, then as soon as you’ve got enough money, leave without completing the job. There are laws to protect customers from this criminal behaviour, and that I expect Chester Count Moving and Storage is going to be held accountable for using a vulnerable client.
We needed to get the authorities involved! I haven’t experienced this kind of abysmal and unprofessional moving business. We needed to involve the authorities as they were needing to remove our belongings in the truck till they could discover a clipboard they dropped. The authorities saved us! Movers denied a stroll through at the end although we had been ensured that! Beds were left in shambles, cardboard still on things!
I do not even know where to start. Our pickup was over a hour late. The dispatcher continued to lie to us and hung up in my wife. When the employees revealed , they did a good job packaging our boxes and furniture, but then forgot a crucial element to our mattress. I needed to push back into the first place to recover it and then also charged me extra for the time that it took. They ruined our bed but not provided paperwork to fill out so that my criticism afterwards was refused and now any attempt to predict them goes unanswered. I was not even asking for much back except that the repair of the mattress and a hour refund to the time that I recovered the deserted area, while their team sat about and feasted on pizza. I’ve left messages daily for months and they will not call back. No one there’ll direct me to your operator. They appear to stop mentioning their name. I believe they operate out of different locations to prevent angry clients. I am hoping that everybody who intends to utilize their providers reads this review also goes elsewhere.
