Estimate has been 1500 bucks so that I said go right ahead and complete this task. Once they packaged and load everything at the vehicle moved into destination. From there they phone me personally and said it’ll be 2500 bucks. In the event you don’t pay we aren’t falling off. I needed to wind up paying 2316 bucks. Not advocating this moving company for the relocation.
I used them for the first time in August to move from Boston to Groton MA. They’re 100% the best movers I’ve ever used. I lived in town for the past 10 Decades and have moved several times. After studying them on Yelp I chose to give them a try. Fantastic people and Fantastic service and a much better price. You can not go wrong here and that I transferred with them the next time from MA to Boca Raton FL.
Benny’s was fantastic: simple to reserve and purchase online. Called to allow me know on the afternoon to say they had been on the road. Attitude was:”There aren’t any issues”. Movers were kind, efficient and helpful. They had just a small elevator to work with and that I had been on fourth floor; they also left another pickup in a storage device I had kept and though I were concerned about it, and they knew all about it and it had been simple. This was a lengthy time, NH to FL proceed, and they made sure that everything was labeled and wrapped attentively. I really comfortable having them at my Dwelling. They have been unfazed by odd items (giant bunny cage, sealed porch swing which was thick and strangely shaped, novels in luggage ). Patient along with my orders and had a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. Produced no assumptions; asked great questions and managed things attentively. And Quick. Surely highly recommend to anybody!
Benny’s Moving ruined our $900 TV, also provided $30 for this, despite the fact that our contract eligible us to $1.25 percent of the whole shipment (readily covering this sum ). They increased their offer to $300 just after legal risks. The extended version: We requested the movers to be more cautious with our TV, because it was the very delicate and costly thing that they were going. When they were completed, noticed that the TV was left behind several boxes and was the only thing still wrapped in their own moving blankets whenever they abandoned. This did not appear suspicious at first, but in retrospect should have been a reddish flag.After many days of unpacking, we eventually got to the TV, to detect that the display was smashed, along with the corner dented in. It appears extremely improbable that the movers did not observe the fall or strike that could have caused so much damage, nevertheless they did not say anything, and still happily accepted our cold beverages daily, in addition to my suggestion at the end of the day. I looked on the contract, also noticed that, as a result of their negligence, the contract had been filled out in this way to make them accountable for $1.25 per pound of the whole shipment, instead of the $0.60 percent of this thing that they’d later claim. They also never had us sign the part admitting the job was finished. I contacted them on Friday, also was requested to get in touch with their individual in control of claims, together with images, and that she would be calling me the morning after. This email address always bounced, and that I was not contacted. When I phoned them the next day, I had been asked to complete a claim form, and advised that they cover $0.60 per pound of the broken item. I immediately filled out the form and then emailed and faxed it to the amount provided, together with links and pictures to the TV and its own present cost. They maintained several times to not have received the facsimile, so that I kept sending it. They stated that they had gotten it, and might contact me on Monday.On Monday, I was not able to reach anyone ready to speak to me later repeated calls. On Tuesday, I attained a worker who had been ready to speak. Initially, he also gave me $0.60 cents per pound of this thing (roughly $30) and we went across the signed contract. He concurred that:1. I hadn’t filled out the part picking out a liability policy, and was thus entitled to $1.25 percent.2. This applied to the burden of the whole shipment, as well as the person item.I pointed out that, presuming that the contents of my whole apartment surpassed 720lbs (they really do ), they were accountable for at least 900. He talked to some time while I waited, and arrived back, offering $120. It took a week and legal dangers to make them increase the deal to $450. Do not use this organization.
The AG needs to shut down this company. They exemplify the worst of all this already suspect moving sector. They’re crooks. Stay away from these. They came late, worked horribly dumb, were messay and unprofessional, were impolite, damamged things, and above billed. After we add a claim to the things that they broke, they stated that we shoudl ahve paid them additional for insurance. What a scam.
I have never utilized movers earlier for myself, although my whole family has when we moved homes. But finding that a U-Haul is not possible to have on the 31st of August, as a result of the huge quantities of school students like me, I needed to hire a moving company to move my flat in crappy-ass Cambridge into bonny Brookline. I hired Benny’s Moving since their quote was the cheapest (Gentle Giant, Precision, and most others were 1.5 times to twice as costly.) I had been worried that maybe this might imply Benny’s was not as great, or that they would send two six-year-olds to haul my 300-lb sleeper couch down the staircase, but nevertheless, I’m cheap and Benny’s was, too.My window period was 12 to 3 PM for the movers to arrive; they arrived at 11:35. They took just 30 minutes to load my furniture (not all of that is mild, or easily scraped ) to the truck. They wrapped my monster TV and glass furniture fast, found parking at the center of Central Square in under a moment, and did not break one product. Not just one. Who are these individuals, magicians? I can not take a shower without even breaking some part of furniture… how dare they go my whole apartment without beating or otherwise maiming one thing of mine?The movers seemed young (high school era? Sorry, guys) and I was very nervous when they showed up. “Ah, [EDIT]. The sleeper couch will remain” Nevertheless, they handled better than me and also my dad had upon going in.
Each and every moment of my encounter by Benny’s Moving and Storage turned into a NIGHTMARE. I moved from Boston to New York and literally saw that the movers DROP my sticks on the sidewalk along with THROW them on the truck. They obviously had no idea I had been seeing out of my flat window.
My items came a day after they had been promised. I needed to sleep on a wood floor with a blanket without a cushion.
Upon arrival, a number of the things were broken or scraped. My custom-made black vest had several scrapes, for example one almost 7″ in length. Plus it was rather profound. Moreover, a ship has been lost and was not discovered.
My two month old mattress appeared as though it was dragged by a rope in the rear of this truck. Black, disgusting and ripped. I pulled it away and needed to substitute it.
I’d removed the excess insurance and when I inquired how to submit a claim, I had been informed by the proprietor, David Abotbool that I”had no guarantee” since”nothing had been broken or lost” and that he”did not think me”. He was haughty and RUDE to me personally about the telephone.
Mistakes occur. THings become lost. However, the arrogance of this proprietor and how I had been treated is NOT OK.
As soon as I filed a lawsuit with Small Claims Court at Watertown, the guy who assisted me in the court stated,”This man, David is at all of the time. Folks sue him consistently.”
A judge thought my story and my photographs and given me my cash paid for my lost and damaged things.
BOTTOM LINE: THIS UNREPUTABLE COMPANY IS TO BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS!
ZERO STARS.
Benny’s Moving firm was hired for a family move, which led in several issues, for example:
* Undelivered and Damaged Products
* Incompetent & Unprofessional
* Unreasonable Delivery Times
* High Staff Turnover
* Non-responsive for months before I registered a complaint with the BBB.
#1 UNDELIVERED AND DAMAGED ITEMS: Benny’s didn’t send all of the things and a few delivered things were ruined. And it was not only that that things weren’t sent, the movers even tried to substitute 1 thing with another product that was not mine.
Here is what happened… Among those missing things is that a 6-foot fiberglass step ladder. Whenever the missing ladder was picked up in Boston, it was recorded to some lightweight aluminum folding step ladder and awarded a list number 72. The lightweight ladder did came though it had been ruined and had no stock number on it. But rather than a six foot fiberglass enclosure (see attached photograph ), the Agency gave me a 3-foot timber ladder (see attached photograph ). The Agency, Alek, stated he discovered that a couple decal on the timber ladder which was a part of my load, therefore it has to be mine.
On the other hand, the amount on the timber ladder wasn’t #72, the amount for those ladders. The decal was #70, which the stock recorded as a treadmill. As soon as I gave the timber ladder back into Alek, he stated he couldn’t take it back because it was one of my decals so that I needed to maintain it. Sounds strange that when I attempted to fix a issue, I had been told I couldn’t. Additionally, sooner when informed Alek I needed to test everything against the stock list, he stated that stock numbers often fell off and that they are not important. Alek appeared to being saying anything was suitable right now.
#2 INCOMPETENT: Close to the end of this unloading there was dining table which had to be transported to the next floor. The inspector stated that he and his helper would be unable to perform it without likely damaging the stairway. I could not picture why there could be harm given the dimensions of this table along with also the size of this stairway. In addition to the mover I’d suppose is early 30’s along with the helper mid 20’s — both physically healthy.
However, because I didn’t need to have the stairway broken, I advised them to leave it at the garage. The following day I carried up the table the staircase to the next floor by myself. There was not any harm to the stairway in any way. Again, Alek appeared to being saying anything was suitable right now.
#3 UNREASONABLE shipping TIME: The following issue which didn’t help and potentially added to the harm was that the moving truck didn’t arrive till 6 pm and the unloading lasted until 10 pm. Hence that the truck was unloaded from the dark and in darkness. But, I had been told I had no choice but take the shipping when they came or my items would be removed and I’d be charged extra to receive my items after.
#4 HIGH STAFF TURNOVER: The following problem that has created the problem even more bothersome is that from the two months since the transfer began, the majority of the contact individuals assigned to my transfer have left the organization or are no more available. This includes the initial main contact person, whom I advised the movement with abandoned Benny’s. Then the next person who substituted my first contact man left Benny’s. Subsequently Kathy who was suppose to manage my claim, was outside because right after I filed that the claim form.
#5 COMPLETELY NON-RESPONSIVE: Benny’s had ceased responding to some of my calls or correspondence because I filed a claim form for those items not damaged and delivered. I filed the form just after Benny’s claim handler, Kathy insisted that I finish the form and ensured me that Benny’s would settle for a replacement value. If Kathy had not insisted, I wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to put together descriptions and images of everything. 1 moment they want the shape so poorly, and the next moment they’re entirely non-responsive.
Given that individuals do not appears to remain in Benny’s very long, I’ve sent email correspondence into three email addresses in Benny’s, for example, claim individual’s email address, a sales individual address along with the overall information speech, which I had been told was managed by the manager/owner of the provider. But still I get no reply.
UPDATE: I filed my complaint to the Boston Better Business Bureau yesterday and suddenly I receive a call from David the owner of Benny’s using a great deal of explanations and arrogance — persuasive me even more that you shouldn’t ever , never hire Benny’s Moving & Storage.
