    Long-distance move from Ontario
    Unsatisfactory and overpriced

Needed to do a last minute go on labor day and these men were accessible.  I needed to change the first date of this move because of our new flat not being prepared when we expected.  Happily, once I called to alter the date, they could move it into Labour day.  I advised them to target 9 AM, as I discovered involving the packaging time and transit time, so that I was able to reserve the moving elevator and they would have the ability to complete the job (since it had been reserved for the remainder of the day ).  Regrettably, I was later told that the soonest they could come was 1 (from a very long move the afternoon before).  I apologize, but that made matters a whole lot more stressful and hard in my conclusion, because I couldn’t guarantee obtaining a dedicated elevator for our relocation.  I pushed for them to come at least at 12 and decided we would get everything prepared as far as we can for them, by shifting all our boxes into the loading dock (in a bid to save time). I needed to push to get a written confirmation of the movement which eventually arrived.  If I remember, the quote was approximately 450-500 for 2 movers along with a 18 ft. cube van.  Call confirming the movement came about 12 on labor day.  I suggested they come once they could but they arrived at 1.  I was instantly put off since there was not any feeling of urgency with the movers, that were being paid by the hour.  This is unacceptable and that is actually the principal reason why I can’t suggest this moving business to anybody.  If you’re getting paid by the hour, then an individual has to make the attempt, if something decorative, to look just like you honor the client’s time and money. Since the vast majority of our stuff was in boxes, at a skillet right next to the truck once they came, it took an hour and a half to load this up.  It was a humid and hot, however overcast that day. After having a deposit, then I had been told they had petrol up and then move to our new flat.  I realised that I couldn’t guarantee a cargo elevator and has been forewarned that going up the staircase could cost extra.  Funny thing was that in the written examination they delivered, this was ticked away as a”free service”.  I said this and they moved to the shield, but we both agreed to play things by ear.  We left immediately after and came at least 30 mins before them.  That is a very long time to receive gas. . .thankfully, as destiny would have it, we had been following in queue to the cargo elevator, so that they could transfer their stuff in essentially whenever they arrived.  I had been told that it would cost $563 till 6 PM.  They wouldn’t proceed with work until they had been compensated, much to my frustration (when being compensated by the hour).  They had been slow to some extent and that I needed to physically help to move things as quickly as I could since I understood the more I did, the more they can perform.  They did concentrate on the hard items (a sofa, dresser, kitchen dining table ) original but 6 PM came about and there was still lots to move so that I paid an additional 80 for an hours worth of effort to complete (which they ended in roughly 30-40 mins). In general, nearly all of our items weren’t damaged, although a minumum of one thing (a kitchen glass cupboard ) which includes minor paint scratches.  Not impressed, but not really worth fighting around as every thing else was otherwise alright.  I’d used another moving company before and had been amazed because that firm put carpetting and insulating material around our cupboard, unlike this business (that did some of the later when on the vehicle ).  They did not bang anything when going from our very first flat, but it will make you wonder. The movers were friendly and were also concerned with the protection of my items (as other people were going in at precisely the exact same time).  I loved this attention to detail. I’ve completed a combined transfer from Ottawa to Brampton which cost about $875 when I remember.  This price $563 to get a substantially briefer move with much less work on the movers section.  They did not need to pack some boxes, all of which were prepared to go in the loading dock when they arrived, and they’d physical help from myself on birth frustrates me.  I believed this was really overpriced, particularly given the absence of functioning around the clock… Experts – friendly, will find the work done, concerned with security of items Disadvantages – didn’t wrap key things immediately before going, minor damage to a few items, slow at work, lack of attempt to undermine to client’s requirements, overpriced.  I will certainly not use this provider again.
