This business utilizes predatory practices, lies and extortion. Business movers smelled of alcohol at the time of pickup. When I was searching for quotes, the company worker, Nate explained on telephone it’d take approximately 5-7 days to transfer me from IL to TX, in spite of the fact that from the quote its own 7-21 days, then affirmed on the telephone again on another day which its a typical disclaimer and a max and it could only take place if the vehicle breaks down or its winter season. They gave me a quote of $1275, when they came they immediately began loading my things on the vehicle, then presented me with a fresh invoice for $2025 and lot of brand new paperwork to sign- a split down sheet of the extra fees they never divulged in the quote – such as $22 wrap prices per item, $16 substance charge per cellophane wrapping, $10 packaging, $10 unpacking fees, respectively, all of which amounted to more than $300 additional charges on my bill. Additionally they claimed that I had a ton more boxes than said, even though I removed a big wall unit in the initial list. How that they increase number of things is by simply disassembling them- a queen size mattress with a topper recorded as one thing turned into a 3 individual objects (mattress, topper, spring box), thus necessitating 3 different wrap cloth and services, in addition to raising the amount of things on the list.I requested multiple times to provide me a more thorough description Exactly why the last quantity was 550 cubic feet, maybe not 416 as on the quote, the manager just smirked and stated -: Since it’s exactly what it is”. The entire process was quite stern, they have been rude and among them smelled of alcohol. Its been two weeks because they picked up my belongings, Ive been sleeping on the ground in my new home in Houston, I have a home based business that I cant work without my possessions and furniture. Its been 3 months since the pickup, they still havent given me some definite dates of shipping, all that I hear daily is”we dont have a driver yet”. As per their policy, they give you one month free storage and then begin charging you daily per cubic foot, which will be just another suggestion they utilize to scam customers from money and extend the time people have to live with their possessions. The 7 to 21 day estimated delivery isn’t a guarantee that means that they could hold your possessions indefinitely meanwhile charging you for storage. How that they put up their operations is an elaborate trap-and- scam and you need to be a lawyer to combat it.
They have created countless imitation 5 star reviews on Google to cancel their inadequate rating from actual clients. When you have a look at their google rating, all testimonials are either 1 star( comprehensive reviews from actual clients ) or 5 star reviews from folks who just wrote one Google review within their lifetime time- this imitation ambiguous, no particulars 5 star review. Therefore they were able to bump their evaluation to 4.3 on Google, deceiving new clients.
When you take a look in their BBB profile or Yelp reviews, you may wonder how this business is still lawfully in the company, since they scam folks at each corner of their moving process,. All reviews will be exactly the same – 1 star out of 5, same complaints regarding lies, hiding behind good print, numerous added fees which were never revealed until individuals possessions happen on the vehicle, folks stuck with invoices that are 100 percent more than the quotes, people actually crying from despair after weeks of flaws with dispatch, without a solution to the horizon, residing just like homeless persons.
Should be 0 celebrities. They suck! The movers were 5 hours late. They qouted the cost $1200 and raised it to $1600 on going day. Their movers were both impolite as well as their customer support was crappy. Dont rely on them.
If you’re trying to find a business which can’t maintain its responsibilities repetitively, underestimates prices, has subcontractors which overcharge (or seem to create up things ), picks up after than guaranteed and produces even later than this (31/2 months from pickup), treats your items worse compared to the things you were planning to fall off at Goodwill or Habitat for Humanity, damages your decor, crushes boxes at transit, does not end putting together furniture since they dropped components in transit, also retains your goods hostage to get a money payment on a Sunday (when shipping was assumed to be Monday or Tuesday, or in the hottest Wednesday) following a Friday night telephone call verifying that Sunday delivery, one which promises the moon also provides table salt (overdue ), than that is the firm for you.
I decreased the furniture to be chosen up including removal of a queen bedroom place (headboard, footboard, dresser, night stand), eliminated the treadmill and exercise bike, eliminated the huge screen TV (unwrapped), eliminated the lawn mower, eliminated the recliner seat, eliminated ALL 15 pieces of artwork (5 large, 10 medium) that they wanted to charge the extra $30-$50 only for wrap, decreased the box count initially at 60, eliminated the industrial oven — the size of a refrigerator, had them NOT incorporate the shelves of the fridge — again a $30-$50 wrapping fee per shelf since they were glass, along with the initial $3,500 quote nevertheless ended up over $4,600, such as a $800 fee in provides (my contract expressly states packaging tape has been contained, but I was still charged by the people picking up without a compromise, and when I paid in cash, they’d somehow reevaluate the Chicago/IL earnings tax – not certain how they get away with this ). I signed up an agreement to cover a second $1,700 upon delivery to South Carolina (cash or postal money order).
They subcontractor continued to report flaws in receiving my stuff rich, and then said the bill I signed was incorrect, and that an additional $700 could be expected upon delivery — currently totaling around $5,000 for example a gas surcharge not preciously communicated along with a greater speed for its”binding fee” of $1,258 that I initially was billed $1,100. I’ve been seriously cared for.
I moved back to AM, back and forth using CW, and they refused to budge, holding our furniture hostage. Shipping was guaranteed to get a Monday or Tuesday, or in the Hottest Wednesday. Then I receive a call on a Friday night that they were arriving Sunday morning with money expected of $2,400. I had the $1,700 in postal money orders on the deal I’d signed, however with banks shut, and me outside of town until Monday, the oldest first guaranteed delivery (31/2 months following initial pickup), they weren’t able to require a debit or charge card or undermine on the overcharges. We needed to ask (brand new ) friends in our area to borrow money as the delivery people needed our furniture hostage and were beginning to remove if we couldn’t develop the overcharged equilibrium.
The shipping was also not smooth. We’re missing components whereas our three-section sofa won’t stay together because of missing pins. Our other two-section sofa wasn’t put together. 1 mattress/box spring mattress was left to the ground with no bedframe under since they didn’t put together among our beds correctly. A hutch has been broken. My wife saw boxes being”thrown” off the truck that damaged two tall dangling boxes comprising suits, blazers, and other apparel clothes (I hate to see what my dry-cleaning invoice is going to be to eliminate this wrinkles/damages). Yes, I’ve got images of all the contested goods. Why my spouse tipped the 2 men $100 (or I leaned the pickup crew $120) I actually ought to ask myself.
Movers showed up late. Initial quote was 1440. When they walked through they re-quoted 2250. After the movement was over they worked it up and billed 3480. They moved over by one hour and billed 1500 in packaging stuff, which we didn’t need or request. Then the driver said if I gave a significant hint he’d lessen my invoice. I felt cheated and extorted. Do not go with this corporation. Rip off
Like everybody else I’ve been bamboozled by this corporation. Told 5-7 days, motorist was a prick. Nate is a significant ass liar the entire business is. Don’t hire these men. I Truely hope they take more then their provisions as I’ll spend my FU cash to sue them. It has been 15 times our substance has not left chicago. We’ve got a two year-old girl we’ve got a vacant home. So to say I’ve spent my the money to buy temporary furniture. I’m being told that they have another 30 times because I paid by check which requires 14 days to clear. I am anticipated my item to not come I had been quoted $1198 to get a transfer to Texas from chicago and in the pick up they jacked up the price by nearly $500. I had been advised it would take 21 days at most by Nate on the telephone and it states from the paperwork. But that is was advised that the. The same thing by Danielle they’ve thirty days after the check clears. I am so fed up I do not even care anymore I am hoping our items to be rummaged thru and stolen and broken and dented bruised and damaged. It had been my fault for not checking into this business better. However, I vow I googled them and they came up a 4.5 google score. I must have mistyped or some thing went wrong since these men ought to be out of business. I am hoping they’ll be shortly please don’t employ them and double check if they change their name check and see whether they ever were citywide movers or household movers. Since they will f your move up and lifetime for the time being
The worst dishonest movers. They won’t look after your own personal property according to minding my pricey cast aluminum patio dining table round the cement driveway and scratching the other side. This citywide movers is currently contracting the job out, with little contractors such as family movers using older petroleum leaking trucks. They are for the most part dishonest illegal immigrants. They’ll quote you a very low cost, send you a quotation saying no hidden charges. Once they get your own furniture inside their truck in your new location they felon immigrant Jonathan
Will fumble with the immense paperwork for 45 minutes telling you just how he is going to cost you $255 additional to get a couple feet of yellow tape and also compacted cardboard, even though the quotation says there’s not any extra fees, and if you do not pay it they won’t release your private property. In the event you decide to apply this Citywide movers (aka Family Movers), then I strongly advise you to park your vehicle in the front of the truck in your new location, then do not move it before they transfer your premises indoors and respect their preferred quotation. Look out for your Latin immigrant tough man who goes by the alias of Jonathan who’ll also hastens your great pens.
If you look down this feed everybody says the exact same thing. This firm SUCK!!!!!! They quoted a very low price then jumped up 450 bucks. They did not reasimble the furniture just like they broke and said furniture. Then when I have mad the men calls me ghetto. I am ghetto since your folks steal and do not do exactly what they say they are likely to perform.
Beware. They’ll steal your things when going. Provide refund checks that they refuse to ship out. Inform you that its usual ti wait 17 hours to the movers to appear. Refuse ti provide yoy back safety deposit when awaiting 17 hours. Movers will get on your face and need a hint. Travis the supervisor doesn’t have any place running a company he’ll lie about tests send out. Lie regarding the movers ‘ are on the way. Horrible company
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY TO MOVE. They do not pick up the telephone when you call. They quote you one price but then when they begin loading their truck the cost almost double. They guarantee that you delivery 7-21 days but it is a lie. They do not even respond to mails. I called today and has been passed about by 3 distinct men and women. Travis was the last man I talked to who maintained I’ll get emailed back now. We’ll see whether this happens. We also needed to cover 2100 since they had improved the cost when they came.
The lead inspector, Sean, spent the vast majority of time on his mobile phone, leaving another mover and myself performing the majority of the move from my flat. They dashed everything into my new home since they stated they were overdue for their next appointment. I asked for a receipt and has been guaranteed to get one the following day in my emailaddress. Three months late and lots of efforts to make it to the business, I’ve yet to be given a response or a reception. Quoted $500 – billed $673.
This is an inventory of Citywide Movers in London, Ontario, Canada; telephone Number 226-234-9240, site www.citywidemovers.ca.
I contracted this company to execute a simple 1 hour occupation in my own home, no contingency demanded. I reserved this business a week in advance for a particular time and day. I texted them a hour before the task was supposed to start, they stated they had been on schedule. If they have been 30 minutes late, I texted back again. They stated they had been postponed and could be an additional half hour. I waited 45 minutes and texted back again. I got a telephone call informing me that they had been suspended up at their existing occupation and inquired if they could reschedule. I couldn’t reschedule since I had other transactions coming from the next morning to perform floor and Citywide was planning to transfer all of my appliances and furniture in to my garage. I told them that they could arrive at anytime that day, after they completed their present occupation, but I needed to have the work done daily. They said they’d do their very best. They never showed up and stopped returning my texts and telephone calls. I have never heard from this company again, they simply hung me out to dry and fully derailed my renovation plans for the following moment. I suggest hiring a moving company that’s at least licensed by the Better Business Bureau. This firm was a total disappointment.
We contracted with Citywide to transfer us in Il to Fl. The price was much cheaper than the big name businesses. They picked up on Oct. 23rdd and sent on De. 6th. I had been told when I see in the arrangement which it may take around 21 days to send, that that’s in extreme circumstances, weather, injuries, etc.. We packed lots of our items in bags, most came broken and ruined. A classic duplex using a leaded glass door came together with all the glass totally broken. A coffee table originated scraped and gouged. As soon as I asked about shipping date has been advised, you did not read the contract. Then once I had been told”technically being a merged moving business, we are permitted 30 days to provide”. Ok, so don’t intentionally lie to the client.
Don’t use this business for long distance movements! They could be fine for local movements, but definitely not long space. There’s a lot more I can say, but you have the idea.
I contracted with Citywide Movers, Inc. in 4600 W. Palmer St Suite # 100, Chicago IL 60639 to transfer my daughters bedroom furniture and about 9 boxes of personal belongings to Durham N.C. where she began a new project on August 1st. Prior to and throughout the reservation procedure, I had been confident (by Nate and Sheila) that the furniture will be delivered within 3-5 days. I made it rather clear that it was crucially important. We initially scheduled the transfer for Friday July 28th however that I had been contacted by Citywide (Sheila) and advised that they needed a truck leaving for North Carolina on Thursday July 27th and when they could pick up my brothers thing daily, it would guarantee delivery by August 1st (or inside the 3-5 afternoon slot). As a consequence of this, we rescheduled for Thursday, July 27th. As an aside, the movers arrived 1.5 hours late for a transfer requiring a scheduled lift booking which was supposed to finish after 1 hour and 45 minutes. Additionally, they charged us 40% within the cost quoted even the the load size was as stated and properly packaged by people.
The major subject of my criticism is that it is 19 days after and the furniture remains in Chicago! As soon as I phoned Citywide from Durham on July 31st to test on the coming time, I had been advised by Travis that the load didn’t create the truck and they did not understand when another truck could be moving in that way. “We will keep you posted”. Obviously, I was angry and have followed up frequently since then. 1 day a week I requested that they find a driver to take the things alone to North Carolina. Of course they explained that it might cost quite somewhat longer and I said,”OK, get me a cost.” I never heard back. Last Friday (8/11) I had been advised that a truck had been due in on Sunday that could hopefully be reloading and going east. No such truck stinks. Yesterday I was advised that maybe there’ll be a truck in the end of NEXT week (presumably 8/25). Now, I requested that my kid’s items be returned into my possession so I can seek the services of a legitimate inspector to take them to North Carolina. I had been told I would need to pay them in full because of their movement ($1,400.00- absurd, but I consented ) but then Travis in Citywide explained that they are not permitted to do so. “The contract requires us to carry your items to North Carolina.”
Meanwhile, while they maintain her possessions hostage, my daughter is sleeping on the ground, no lights, clothing, demanded MEDICINES, kitchenware, etc.. As you can imagine, this is a really embarrassing and stressful position for her along with a cross country move and a brand new job. I really feel like a idiot for registering files that contradict what I had been verbally reassured, over and over.
NEVER USE CITYWIDE MOVERS!
